Classification of Object and Non-object Images Based on Color Distribution (칼라 분포 특성에 기반한 객체 영상 린 비객체 영상의 분류 방법)

  • 의미 있는 객체가 영상에 포함되어 있는지를 판단하여 영상을 객체 및 비객체 영상으로 분류함으로써 영상 검색이나 효과적인 영상 데이터베이스 구축 등에 유용하게 활용 가능하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 영상 유형에 따른 특징을 분석하여 영상 분류를 위한 기준을 선정함으로써 입력 영상을 객체 및 비객체 영상으로 분류할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다 일반적으로 객체는 주로 영상의 중심 부근에 위치하고 주변과는 상이한 칼라 특징으로 표현되므로, 영상 중심 부근에 주로 위치하는 칼라의 분포 정보를 영상 분류의 기준으로 사용하였다. 또한 객체 추출 방법[4]을 적용하여 추출된 객체와 배경 사이의 공유 경계에서 발생하는 경계 강도 정도를 활용하였다. 코렐 CD에서 무작위로 선택된 800장의 영상에 대해 제안된 기준을 적용하여 분류한 결과 약80%의 분류 정확도를 얻었다.

  • 본 연구는 JPEG(Joint Photographic Experts Group)표준 영상압축 방법을 이용한 원격측정 (remote measuring) 시스템을 다룬다. 많은 디지탈 비디오(digital video)이 응용중에서 주요 어려움은 디지탈 영상(digital image)을 직접적으로 표현하기 위해 필요한 방대한 데이터의 처리문제이다. 그리고 디지탈 영상의 직접적인 사용은 고수준 기억용량(high storage)과 전송비용(transmission costs)으로 인하여 응용상 여러가지 제약조건이 수반되었다. 이런 이유로 인하여 여러가지 영상압축 기법이 개발되어왔으며 본 연구는 정지영상(still pictures)에 대하여 JPEG 표준을 사용한 영상압축과 압축된 영상을 사용하여 실제 제조업의 공정검사에 응용하는 것이다. 수행도 평가척도로서 원래영상과 압축된 영상과의 압축비, 원래영상과 압축된 영상과의 픽셀(pixel)의 회색도 값(gray-level value)의 평균과 RMSE(root mean square error), 그리고 원래영상과 압축된 영상을 원거리(또는 근거리)로 전송하여 전송된 압축영상을 푼 후 두 지점간의 거리 측정에 따르는 실제거리와 측정거리에 대한 오차를 이용하였다.

Improved shape-based interpolation for three-dimensional reconstruction in gray-scale images (3차원 그레이-스케일 영상 재구성을 위한 개선된 형태-기반 보간)

  • Using a series of medical tomograms, we can reconstruct internal organs or other objects of interest and generate 3-D images. It is generally accepted that the axial resolution determined by two sequential image slices is lower than the planar resolution in one image slices. Therefore, various methods of interpolation were developed for an accurate display of reconstructed images. In this paper, a new algorithm for 3-D reconstruction of the medical images such as MRI and X-ray CT is suggested. The algorithm is shape-based and utilizes parts of the gray-level information. We extend the conventional shape-based interpolation of the binary images to the gray-scale images using the shortest distance map. Using this new algorithm, We could reduce the execution time for interpolation while keeping similar high quality of the reconstructed images with reduced execution time and is applicable to the various medical tomograms.

  • James Cameron's Avatar was a stunning success for digital characters. Digital animation character creation was not suddenly enabled by visual technology, rather it was a result of numerous attempts of combining animation and live action film with the help of technology advancement. Two pioneers in this field are James Cameron and Robert Zemeckis. Although continuous interest and research in visual technology existed, the two directors differed in how they viewed the use of technology. The difference is demonstrated in their two recent movies which will be covered in details. How these two directors differed in their approach remains a topic of study for us who continuously are exposed on advance visual technology and our reaction to the changing nature of the industry.

  • It is presented many effect that represented by implicated one image more than each images with a fragment meaning. ‘Mosaic’ is technique be applied at this situation. ‘Mosaic’ is created by complicated one new image which by multi image be eliminated overlap region. This research is development for mosaic system by multi image. The system is divided that shot segmentation and mosaic image creation. Shot segmentation divided that merge with respect to similarity images which video data of moving picture in sequence time and mosaic image creation is composed of one image with which all frames in segmented shot.

  • The active control of a vehicle based on vehicle recognition is one of key technologies for the intelligent vehicle, and the part-based image representation is necessary to recognize vehicles with only partial shapes of vehicles especially in urban scene where occlusions frequently occur. In this paper, we implemented a part-based image representation scheme using non-negative tensor factorization(NTF) and realized a robust vehicle recognition system using the NTF feature. The result shows that the proposed method gives more intuitive part-based representation and more robust recognition in urban scene.

  • This study carried out researches on the techniques which are applicable to express sense of depth in the process of producing lofty image contents, and it's verification. Techniques for expression of sense of depth are how to use highlight and shadow, how to use depth of field and lenses, and how to use camera motion, zoom and dolly. For the practical application in all cases, I examine the preference frequency, and most of the pictures that techniques are adapted are selected. As a result we can verify the way of using lenses is the most convenient way in the expression of 'sense of depth'.

  • Due to the advancement of technology, there are many attempts trying to extend ways of expressing for using digital media, even in traditional theater. In the performances that were created before '미키쥐의 죽음' directors used videos only for the background, however, in 'A Death of Mickey Rat', trying to avoid the same patterns as the ones from the past creators realized an interactive performance with the balancing combination of videos, performer and sounds. As a result, the theater suggested a possibility of a new progress in creating theater by making a created space called the stage gain more reality and adding the power of interactivity between the media and the performer.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient method for locating human lips. Based on Point Distribution Model and Principle Component Analysis, a lip shape model is built. Lip boundary model is represented based on the concatenated gray level distribution model. We calculate the distribution of shape parameters using Gaussian mixture. The problem to locate lip is simplified as the minimization problem of matching object function. The Down Hill Simplex Algorithm is used for the minimization with Gaussian Mixture for setting initial condition and refining estimate of lip shape parameter, which can refrain iteration from converging to local minima. The experiments have been performed for many images, and show very encouraging result.
