Influences of a Sound Design of Media Contents on Communication Effects - TV-CF Sound Using a BQ-TEST (영상음향의 사운드디자인설계가 커뮤니케이션 효과에 미치는 영향 - TV광고음향을 뇌 지수 분석기법으로 -)

  • The sound design performed in the production of media contents, such as TV, movie, and CF, have been conducted through the experienced feeling of some experts in the aspect of auditory effects that communicates stories. Also, there have been few studies of the quantitative approach and verification to apply visual and auditory effects felt by users. This study is a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design and investigates the difference in communication effects in which the difference in a sound design in the production of media contents that affects users. This study analyzed the brain quotient (BQ) obtained by the measurement of brain waves during the watching of an experiment image (track A) designed by using a 60-second TV CF only and an experiment image (track B) designed by sound effects and music and investigated which sound design represents differences in communication effects for users. The results of this investigation can be summarized as follows: First, in the results of the comparison of the attention quotient (ATQ), which is the BQ of recognition effects, between A and B tracks, the track A showed a higher difference in activation than the track B. It can be analyzed that the sound design based on music showed higher levels in attention and concentration than that of the sound effect design. Second, in the results of the comparison of the emotional quotient (EQ), which is emotional effects, between A and B tracks, the track A represented a higher difference than the track B. It means that the sound design based on music showed higher contribution levels in emotional effects than that of the design based on sound effects. Third, in the results of the comparison of the left and right brain equivalent quotient (ACQ), which is memory activation effects, between A and B tracks, there were no significant differences. In the results of the experiments, although there are some constraints in TV CF based on the conventional theories in which sound effects based design affects strong concentration, and music based design affects emotional feeling, the music based design may present more effects in continued concentration. In addition, it was evident that the music based design showed higher effects in emotional aspects. However, it is necessary to continue the study by increasing the number of subjects for improving the little differences in ACQ. This study is useful to investigate the communication effects of the sound based design in media contents as a quantitative manner through measuring brain waves and expect the results of this study as the basic materials in the fields of sound production.

  • 컬러영상은 흑백 영상에 비해 보기 아름다울 뿐만 아니라 보다 다양하고 현실적인 정보를 나타낼 수 있으며, 특히 색의 대비를 이용하여 특정한 부분의 가시도를 높일 수 있는 장점이 있다. 최근에는 컬러 모니터의 대중화와 말티미디어 기술의 보급으로 인하여 대부분의 컴퓨터 사용자가 칼라 디스플레이를 사용하고 있으며, 이를 이용한 영상의 재현 및 제품 디자인이 자연스러운 영상색의 재현은 정확한 정보 의 전달 뿐만 아니라 사용자의 만족도 및 감성적 제품 개발에 중요한 요인이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 색을 가장 자연스러운 상태로 재현할 수 있는 Contrast/Brightness 상태를 알아보고, Contrast/Brightness 변화가 화면에 재현된 영상색에 미치는 영향에 대하여 분석하였다.

Analysis of Game Video Production in Streaming Media Environment (스트리밍 환경에서 게임 영상 제작 분석)

  • This paper summarizes the features and functions of game video on each platform through a study on streaming technology. Game videos have a high relationship with game content itself for the purpose of marketing and disseminating game play methods using games as the subject matter. The video length is short and it is easy to spread. The main types of game video content are game commentary, game strategy, funny, imitative, music video, and game information. As a game promotion video function, etc., it is used as a direct or indirect publicity for the game by the producer and the user for each reason. This article analyzed the production subject and production conditions of game videos, focusing on the production process. The production subject is divided into professional creators, non-professional creators, and general users. The motive for producing game videos is mainly to obtain economic benefits. The production process was extracted and presented through examples of game videos.

  • 기술의 발전과 정신을 차리기 힘들 정도로 쏟아져 나오는 정보들로 인해 기존의 전통적 시각언어들은 벌써 형태적으로나 기능적으로 위기를 맞고 있다. 동영상에 기반을 둔 상호간의 의사소통은 이제 더 많은 것을 요구한다. 소프트웨어의 기술과 전통방식의 디자인을 결합하는 것만으로는 불충분하다. 앞으로의 모션그래픽은‘어떤 방식으로 메시지와 디자인, 시간, 움직임을 융합할 것인가’가 중요하다.

  • This work is a interactive digital art work which used the multiplex of jitter. It is an work which used a cross concept of two images. This work shows two kinds of images. One is on the wall through the gap of fluorescent lamp screen, and the other is on the fluorescent lamp screen. Two images are intercepted and comes out to the length as the multiplex of the jitter. The appearance of the spectator be recognized on the fluorescent lamp screen or on the wall, by two branch image which comes out intersecting of a length with multiplex function of the jitter. Two branch features of the image which it produces and the spectator which is input at real-time is equally divided, or in impression of juxtaposition goes in the spectator. It expresses the duplicity of the human being, with physical existence space divides the time space which we feel and there is a governing grammar which is different with each other and to express the thing it becomes. It used the image of the screen which it produces with the fluorescent lamp and cross concept.

  • 디지털 제품 구매자는 일반적으로 온라인을 통하여 제품 웹사이트에서 제품의 특징이나 사용 후기를 충분히 보고 제품을 구입한다. 그리고 제품을 구입 후에 사용자는 온라인에서 제품의 매뉴얼을 통하여 익힌다. 이러한 과정에서 본 연구자는 사용자들의 온라인상에서 제품 구매 전, 후에서 문제점을 발견하고 확실히 어떠한 요구사항이 존재할 것이라는 의문을 가졌다. 따라서 다양한 일반인 연령대를 구성한 340명을 대상으로 디지털 제품의 전달 매체 사용에 대한 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문문항 내용에서 우선적 대안으로 예상한 것들은 '데스크탑 가상현실'과 '멀티미디어 동영상' 매체들이다. 그리고 사용자들이 이것들을 새로운 매체로서 가장 요구하는 사항일 것이라는 추측을 하고 현황을 파악한다. 최종적으로는 사용자가 요구하는 제품에서 매체의 기능과 만족도를 조사하고 개선점을 파악하며 문제점에 대한 해결 대안의 기초 자료로서 제시하고자 한다.

  • The era of film has begun as a few media critics had anticipated already. The interestings of visual designers has asked to being with images in the processing and changing of varied image culture are different from the era of print media. It is reason to being with images that are generalizing of video culture. Now the film of images that made from popular advertisings and goods influenced by films has come. At first to being with image to visual designers need to understand films and to join making films. In films, visual designers make strengthen in part of credit titles. Credit titles are elements in films with the form of text to help understanding in the beginning and closing part of films. Credit title design has begun first by American visual designer Saul Bass as p pioneer position and have made to be varied film credit technics of computer. The advanced of technics have to think aspects of meaning of titles in the film of '007' movie series through 60s &70s. In 80s more technics have developed to being varied credits to films. And after all, in 90s there are films with almost varied titles. In Korean films ars less varied than that of Amenrican's and of French, in this study I hope to develope more varied Korean credit titles in near future.

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate a usability of using fashion and beauty service and suggest better user experience on Instagram's newly released mobile video platform, IGTV. The study expects to be a resource of improving the usability on fashion and beauty contents on IGTV and encourage further research for suggesting better guidelines. As a research method, it will experiment current mobile video service first with literature review. Afterwards, the research conducted tasks and in-depth interview with eight Instagram users to evaluate a usability of using fashion and beauty service on IGTV. As a result, it is able to derive two plans that needed improvement. Firstly, IGTV is required to have high accessibility for user's to use service longer and intuitive user experience. Secondly, unlike previous service that Instagram have offered, IGTV need to differentiate to share and get information of fashion and beauty trends.
