Radiation Damage by the Pool Fire of LNG Storage Tank (LNG 저장 탱크의 Pool Fire에 의한 복사열 피해)

  • In this work, in order to quantitatively predict the radiation flux and propose an idea about how to reduce the radiation damage, the radiation flux caused by pool fire of an LNG storage tank has been calculated using the RISC (Risk and Industrial Safety Consultant) proposed model under various conditions. Model predictions showed that the most important parameter affecting the radiation flux by the LNG pool fire is the wind speed. The extent of radiation damage to a target from fire flame was more significant with variation of wind speed at a low wind speed than with that at a high wind speed. It was found that the radiation damage by the former is substantially reduced with planting windbreak system around the plant. Since the windbreak is most economical than any other method, it is strongly suggested to plant a tree belt in the factory surroundings, especially near by the area of gas storage facilities, linking with water cooling and fire protection systems.

  • A study has been Peformed to investigate the thermal margin increase by replacing the single-channel analysis model with a multichannel analysis model. h new critical heat flux(CHF) correlation, which is applicable to a 17$\times$17 Korean Fuel Assembly(KOFA)-loaded core, was developed on the basis of the local conditions predicted by the subchannel analysis code, TORC. The hot sub-channel analysis was carried out by using one-stage analysis methodology with a prescribed nodal layout of the core. The result of the analysis shooed that more than 5% of the thermal margin can be recovered by introducing the TORC/KRB-1 system(multichannel analysis model) instead of the PUMA/ERB-2 system(single-channel anal)sis model). The thermal margin increase was attributed not only to the effect of the local thermal hydraulic conditions in the hot subchannel predicted by the code, but also to the effect of the characteristics of the CHF correlation.

Stratification related to Heat Flux in Deukryang Bay during Summer (여름철 득량만의 열속과 관련한 성층)

  • In order to see the stratification related to the heat flux In Deukryang Bay, the oceanographic data on July 12, 1994 and the meteorological data of Kohung and Kwangju meteorological stations were analysed. The temperature durerences between the sea surface and the near bottom were 1~3 ton spring tide (July 12, 1994) In Deukryang Bay. The temperature anomalies were high about 3t during summer In 1994. These mean that the non mixing was not effective In destroying the stratification due to the sea surface heating by the solar radition, even though it was on spring tide. The maximum solar radiation was about 600 ly/day, which was the value of the same date of oceanographic observation. The sensible and the latent heat flux which are 0~100 ly/day were not so varied during summer. The absorbed heat flux through the sea surface was mostly lost by the back radiation. which ranges are about 0~-400 ly/day. The dimensionless mixing parameter related to the buoyancy flux was 5~150$\times$$10^{-5}$. The efficiency of tidal mixing to destroy the stratecation was 0.4~0.6%.

This part design has a bulky amount of data and asks the accumulation of advanced technical skill and experience, and fragmentary technical application is not enough to get to the kernel of a problem. Therefore, the improvement of proper productivity - the starting point of engineering design - and useful Design Methodology for products manufacturing are needed. Thus this paper is aimed to create a program that outputs dynamic characteristics of a vehicle when the data from fully understanding on motorcycle's brake system and induced formula for brake design are inputted.

  • The initial conditions such as the film thickness and the void fraction at the onset of annular flow are required for the analytical dryout model. The Disturbance Wave Instability model(DWI model) is one of the model describing the Annular-to-Intermittent Flow regime Transition(AIFT). The experimental CHF conditions for the uniformly heated tube were compared with the predictions by the modified Levy model, for which the initial conditions at AIFT were estimated by the DWI model. For the flow through long tubes with small inlet subcooling, the effect of AIFT model on the dryout prediction was little. However, the use of DWI model gave better prediction of CHF in a short tube.

  • 층류 열전달에서 작은 Reynolds number에서의 원통내의 흐름에대한 Power law 유 체의 해법이 사용될 수가 없는 것을 낮은 전단률(Shear Rate)에서 Power Law 법칙이 적용 되지 않기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 이문제를 새로운 구성방정식을 이용하여 높은 전단률에 서는 Power Law 법칙이 낮은 전단률에서는 Newtonian 법칙이 그 중간에서는 천이과정을 모두 포함하는 전범위의 전단률에 대해 해결하였다. 이러한 구성방정식의 기본개졈은 실험 결과와도 잘 일치하였따. 이 구성방정식을 이용하여 Graetz 문제를 해결하였고 경계조건은 일정온도와 일정열속이다. 이용하기 쉬운 전단률변수는 적용범위가 Newtonian인지 Power law 인지 아니면 중간 천이과정인지를 나타내준다.

  • The fire event occurred in fire proof zone often causes serious electrical problems such as shorts, ground faults, or open circuits in nuclear power plants. These would be directed to the loss of safe shutdown capabilities performed by safety related systems and equipments. The fire event can treat the basic design principle that safety systems should keep their functions with redundancy and independency. In case of a multi-core cable fire, operators can not perform their mission properly and can misjudge the situation because of spurious operation, wrong indication or instrument. These would deteriorate the plant capabilities of safety shutdown and make disastrous conditions. In this paper, the characteristic of cable fire is investigated and the heat-flux evaluation for cable fire is studied. Moreover, a diagnostic methodology for degraded cable in nuclear power plants is presented.

  • 히트파이프 히트싱크의 라디에이터를 통과하는 공기 유동에 대한 열전달 및 유동 압력 강하를 구하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 이 라디에이터는 평판 휜-관 구조이며, 평판휜에 4개의 히트파이프가 유동 방향으로 정격 배열 되어있다. 입구 공기 속도 2.5~4m/s에 대해 열전달 성능실험과 수치해석을 수행하였다. 각 히트파이프의 단위 길이당 열속이 583.3W/m, 입구 공기 속도가 3m/s일때 총합 대류 열전달계수값은 약 32W/$m^2$K, 압력 강하는 8mmAq이었다. 전체속도범위에서 실험결과와 수치 해석 결과 사이에는 약 5%의 미만의 일치를 보였다.

  • 고체 추진제 연소불안정에 관한 해석은 준-정상 1차원 해석인 QSHOD(Quasi-Steady Homogcneous One-Dimension)에 의하여 단순화된 지배방정식을 이용하여 응축영역을 해석하는 것이 일반적이다. 이때 외부교란에 대한 기체영역과 표면반응 영역의 응답은 화학반응이 발생하지 않는 고체영역의 응답에 비하여 매우 빠르므로 준-정상적인 거동을 한다. 본 연구에서는 복사열전달에 의한 열속(heat flux)이 고체 추진제의 표면에 존재하며 이 중의 일부가 고체영역에서 흡수될 때 표면에서의 선형교란을 고려한 ZN(Zeldovich-Novozhilov) 방법을 이용하여 연소불안정 현상을 이론적으로 해석하여 연소불안정 현상을 설명할 수 있는 연소 응답함수를 구하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 응답함수를 해석함으로써, Zebrowski등$^{(5)}$ 에 의하여 얻어진 복사열 교란에 대한 응답함수가 과소 평가된 응답특성을 나타내고 있음을 알았다. 또한 응답함수의 고유불안정성을 판별하는 민감계수 r과 k의 영역의 해석으로부터 SOn등$^{(6)}$ 에 의하여 밝혀진 안정 경계선의 안정한 영역보다 본 연구에서 구한 안정 경계영역이 줄어드는 경향을 보여주고 있다. 이것은 (6)에서 과소 평가된 복사열전달의 영향을 수정한 결과 때문이다.
