  • 탄성체는 크게 열경화성 탄성체(thermosetting elastomer)와 열가소성 탄성체(thermoplastic elastomer)로 분류할 수 있다. 이러한 탄성체들 가운데 대표적인 소재로 반복하여 재사용이 가능하여 경제적인 소재이며 환경친화적인 소재인 열가소성 폴리우레탄에 대한 관심이 높아져 왔고 그에 따른 연구도 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 이러한 열가소성 폴리우레탄(TPU)은 가공의 용이성과 양호한 물리적 ㆍ화학적 성질 때문에 섬유용 소재에서 엔지니어링 플라스틱에 이르기까지 광범위한 산업용 소재로의 개발을 통하여 사용량이 지속적으로 증가를 보이고 있다.   • We synthesized thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer(TPU) with acid group and nano zinc oxide, and characterized their mechanical properties, thermal properties, contact angle and grip property. The effects of the zinc oxide content and size on the physical property of TPU were investigated. When the nano zinc oxide was introduced in TPU with acid group, it had excellent mechanical properties and grip by formation of hydrogen and ionic bonding. The wet slip of TPU with zinc oxide was increased continuously as ionization rate increased due to increase of hydrophilicity and ionic interaction, and mechanical properties were increased with increasing ionization rate up to 50%.

  • Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) elastomer is used as an encapsulant in undersea sonar devices. A new material for sonar encapsulant exhibiting better mechanical strength than TPU along with a lower swelling ratio for seawater and oil is required to prolong its application. TPU grafted silica nanoparticles (TPU-g-silica) were prepared and then they were melt mixed with TPU to fabricate desirable composites for underwater applications. The composite containing silica nanoparticles exhibited better tensile strength and lower swelling ratios in the seawater and oil than TPU regardless of the surface treatment of the silica particles. At fixed silica content in the composite, the TPU/TPU-g-silica composite exhibited better tensile strength and lower swelling ratio than the TPU composite with the pristine silica particles. Furthermore, the TPU/TPU-g-silica composite exhibited enhanced tensile strength as compared to TPU after being impregnated with oil.

  • We synthesized thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) with different contents of sulfuric acid group, and characterized their physical properties such as mechanical, thermal and grip properties. And the results were compared with carboxylic acid-introduced TPU. Wet slip, tensile strength and abrasion properties were increased by the introduction of acid group. Mechanical properties increased with increasing the acid content up to 0.3 wt%. However, wet slip was continually increased as the acid content increased due to increase of hydrophilicity of TPU.

  • 열가소성 폴리우레탄 공중합체는 가역적 변형을 갖는 soft segment와 물리적 가교역할을 하는 hard segment로 이루어져 있으며, 이들 두 segment domain의 상분리에 의하여 우수한 탄성효과를 발휘할 수 있으며 또한 적당한 구조제어에 의하여 형상기억효과를 나타내게 할 수 있다. 본 연구자들은 최근 형상기억 폴리우레탄 제조에 있어 soft segment의 배열을 달리함으로써 보다 우수한 역학적 성질을 갖는 시료를 얻을 수 있음을 보고하였다. (중략)

  • In this study we synthesized low VOC-solvent soluble thermo plastic polyurethane, The effect of chain extender and NCO/OH ratio for properties of thermoplastic polyurethane was investigated. Also, we prepared low VOC-type primer by TPU and acrylic modified tackifier resin. When NCO/OH ratio was 2 or more, TPU was insoluble in low VOC solvent. And peel strength was higher value using polar type tackifier than non-ploar type tackifier.

  • Life rafts, which has been used for domestic vessel currently, are fabricated mostly for the ocean-going vessels in accordance with the SOLAS Resolution. Therefore, there is not any small-sized life raft which can be installed on small fishery boat, leisure boat and cargo vessel with those length shorter than 20 meters in our country. However, in many foreign countries, new standards or the small-sized life rafts applicable to those small vessel have been developed according to the standard of ISO 9650. Furthermore, they make their effort to contribute the safety for the life at sea by supply the superior product of life rafts, which have been adopted by light material (i.e. thermoplastic polyurethane, TPU) and economic production process (i.e. heat sealing, radio-frequency welding, RFW), etc. In this paper, the development results of the small-sized life raft, which has been used the lightening material TPU and fabricated by RF-welding method, will be introduced.

  • 전기방사(electrospinning)는 최근 나노기술의 대두와 함께 서브마이크론(submicron)의 직경을 가지는 섬유를 제조할 수 있는 방법으로 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있는 실정이다[1]. 이러한 전기방사는 고분자 용액이나 용융된 고분자에 고전압을 걸어주어, 모세관 팁과 웹을 받아주는 컬렉터(collector) 사이에 전기장을 형성시켜 섬유를 제조하는 방법이다. 열가소성 폴리우레탄은 우수한 탄성을 갖는 유용한 고분자중의 하나로 섬유나 플라스틱에 널리 사용되고 있다. 특히, 이는 고무에 비하여 탄성률이 높고 내마모성이 강하며 용매에 대한 저항성이 좋은 장점을 지니고 있다[2].
