  • The approximately highest high water(AHHW), which has been used frequently as a basis of the design sea level, has not only ambiguous return period but also spatio-temporal problems induced by sea level rise and the spatial variability of tidal characteristics. The ratios of 4 major constituents with other constituents were investigated. In addition, tidal data were analyzed by probability density function. The temporal variability may be cured by using the latest tidal data. And the AHHW at summer was examined to lessen the spatial variability. The results show that the design sea levels need to increase by 10 cm or more at the Southern Coast and by 15~25 cm at the East Coast.

  • The role of bass in band or ensemble music literally sets up the foundation of harmony, which must be regarded first. On the other hand, this is also considered so basic or stable that it can be slightly boring to the listeners. Consideration is needed to make the varied trials more exciting. In this sense, Rutger Gunnarsson showed these fine examples not in performing music but in pop music through the Great ABBA. He could make a fabulous sound with only a basic performance, not with a florid technique or rhetorical skills. All bassists must bear in mind that the overall performance depends on the bass. In short, to make better music, remember to practice continually and find better methods.

In Other words, there was only root based Note along with Harmony which doesn't have Bass Solos or Melodic phrase Appeared in Bass playing. Jimmy Blanton Was the First Bass Player who changes This Traditional Concept of Jazz bass playing after New Orleans Jazz era. He was introduced variety of accompaniment Style with Various rhythmic phrase and Bass Soloing like a horn Player. We could know that His Style Continues to Such as Ray Brown, Paul chambers who has a big Name after Jimmy Blanton. I analyzed accompaniment Style and solo techniques Of Jimmy Blanton with the Song "Cotton tail and MR.JB Blues" Which He Performed with Duke Ellington. I learned a lot while I'm analyzing his Performing Style from Jimmy Blanton, such as Target Note playing, using Chord Tones and Arpeggios, Melodic Solo Style, Jazz Style Bowing Technique, Question and Answer Phrasing etc. I could notice That He Was the true Pioneer of the First Bass player In the Early Jazz days.

  • Linked pearls pattern expressed on textiles have no limited scale or shape when manufacturing, so they are free in expression. And from the design, material, and color we can analogize the social culture of that age. Oriental linked pearls pattern was started from the Sasanian Persia and introduced through the Silk Road, so it is closely connected with the East and the West culture. This study will consider from the 5th century to the 10th century; the mural costume of the West Central Asia, the ancient textiles excavated from the Sinjiang and Qinghai area of China, and the linked pearls pattern which are collected at Shosoin, Japan. And from this study, will concentrate on clarifying the linked pearls pattern's condition of the cultural exchange between the East and the West and it's structural variation process. The design of linked pearls pattern delivered to the East through the Silk Road is differed by area. For example, in the Western Pamir Plateau, where the ancient Sogdians mainly lived, the excavated linked pearls pattern's subject were deer or cassowary variated from the West Asian motif. But the ones excavated from Kucha Xingang had Chinese motifs added so they showed Chinese characters or Buddhist Bodhisattva image instead of Helios. Like this, the appearance of new patterns, which were accompanied by structural variations, gradually deviated from the standardized pattern of the Sasanian Persia. And this structural variation process has relations with the construction and arrangement method of various patterns of the after ages. The foliated floral Spray, which is placed at the lozenge space of linked pearls' space, had developed into ogival - shaped pattern (Neunghwamun). And the prevalence of geometrical structure pattern after the 10th century and the unfolding method of Tapjamun which is arranging unit pattern in order, are similar to the linked pearl pattern. In brief, linked pearls pattern accompanied by technical improvement let us understand the polished artistic code from its expression, and has importance in showing universal pattern beyond region and culture.

  • Drum Set are representative instruments that use grips in modern popular music. Depending on how and how clearly you hold the basic grip, it also affects your performance ability. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses of each grip, derive the resulting complex effects, and present practical application plans to the drummers. The research method is largely divided into traditional and matched grips, and in detail, German, American, French, and hybrid styles are included to analyze the performance method utilized. It also refers to the grip method of all drummers from the 1930s to the present, which was registered in Drummer World, an overseas drum site. This study proposed several application plans by classifying and analyzing the most basic grip methods in drum set in detail. I was able to see that the performance impact was different depending on the grip, and I think it will be more helpful for future performances if I understand both the positive and adverse functions of each grip and play it.

  • The 1900s in New Orleans, the harbor city, was indeed an era of confusion because there were various ethnic groups and races. Songs that had been sung by slaves taken from Africa, Black spiritual music, blues, British folk songs, French folk music, ballet music, Spanish dance music, and the march of military bands were mixed with Rag Time to achieve diversity. This developed the beginning of jazz. While swing jazz was most popular and loved by the public during the 20th century, the bebop preferred the small scale organization of musical instruments and developed as a form of jazz featuring the impromptu musical performances. Later, cool jazz, a new style involving the fast and complicated code progress, emerged with free jazz, which features the fundamental rupture from the tradition of the jazz. Miles Davis, who introduced the rock beat in jazz, started fusion jazz. Although jazz has been named differently depending on the era, the main attraction of jazz lies on improvisation. In other words, despite a small changes in code progress and rhythm, the most important thing the player considers is improvisation. Some famous players who lived in the same era followed the whole atmosphere but each had their own style. So, even when they did play the same song, they revealed their style in solo parts despite the same head.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze drum performance techniques, focusing on the representative artists of funk music, who had a revival starting in the 1970s. The purpose of this study is to analyze the creativity shown in David Garibaldi's playing technique, which had a great influence on drum majors with his funk drum playing technique. As a research method, 'James Brown', 'Earth, Wind & Fire' and 'Tower of Power' with David Garibaldi as drummer were selected as representative bands. For the study period, the drum performance was examined by selecting two representative songs from among the songs released between 1965 and 1975, when the development of the corresponding funk music began. David Garibaldi's creative performance in this study is as follows. First, we tried to create a new rhythm in the form of changing the beat or resting the beat out of the frame of contemporary drum performance. Second, the 'Paradiddle', 'Accent', and 'Swiss Army triplet' rudiment techniques were applied to the entire drum kit, bringing innovation to the rhythm. Third, the samba pattern of Latin rhythm and the form of 'Afro-Cuban' were grafted onto funk music. Fourth, the idea of Unison Rhythm obtained from the structure of Latin music was applied to funk music. Based on this study, it is hoped that research on drum performance techniques of various genres will be conducted.
