Punching Shear Strength and Behavior of CFT Column to RC Flat Plate connections (CFT기둥-RC 무량판 접합부의 펀칭전단강도 및 거동)

  • This paper summarizes full-scale test results on CFT column-to- flat plate connections has gained wide acceptance subjected to gravity loading. CFT construction has gained wide acceptance in a relatively short time in domestic building construction practice due to its various structural and construction advantages. However, efficient details for CFT column to flat plate connections have not been proposed yet. Based on the strategies that maximize economical field construction, several connecting schemes were proposed and tested. Test results showed strength and connection stiffness exceeding those of R/C flat p late counterparts. A semi-analytical procedure is presented to model the behavior of CFT column-to-flat plate connections. The five parameters to model elastic to post-punching catenary action range are calibrated based on the limited test data of t to progressive collapse prevention design is also illustrated.

3D Reconstruction of Internal Zonation in Zircon (저어콘의 내부 누대구조의 3차원적 복원기법)

  • A series of the planar cathodoluminescence (CL) and backscattered-electron (BSE) images of magmatic zircon from the Paleozoic Yeongdeok pluton in the southeastern Korean Peninsula were taken using a scanning electron microscope for a 3D reconstruction of internal zonation of zircon. Seven zircon crystals mounted in epoxy were serially polished with average $3{\mu}m$ thickness to their disappearance. Their 3D reconstruction of zonation was performed using the Volume Viewer function in the ImageJ software. The 3D oscillatory zoning pattern of zircon was apparently shown in all the analyzed crystals. This method can further be applied to zircon crystals of multiple growth histories as well as other geological materials.

  • This study sets the boundary of U-City industry based on expert surveys. Based on this U-City industry boundary, an appropriate inter-industry analysis is performed. The result shows production inducement coefficients, value added inducement coefficients, employment & enter employment inducement coefficients, influence coefficients and induction coefficients. Based on these coefficients, overall characteristics and spillover effects of U-City industry are examined. The result of this study shows that U-City industry has bigger value added-induced effects and employee-induced effects than other industry. The result also shows that U-City industry also has a great forward linkage effect. This study has a meaning that could be used to make political decisions as a basic data.

  • Structures are often subject to vehicle collision which can be accidental or terrorist attack. Previous research shows that the damage in major columns may result in progressive collapse of a whole building. This study investigates the performance of a steel column standing on a reinforced concrete footing subjected to a vehicle collision. The size and the axial load of the steel column are determined based on the assumption that it is the first story corner column in a typical three-story building with six meter span length. The finite element model of a eight-ton single unit truck provided by the NCAC (National Crash Analysis Center) is used in the numerical analysis. The finite element analysis is performed using the LS-DYNA, and the results show that the behavior of the column subjected to car impact depends largely on the column-foundation connection detail.

  • In these days, the world is getting connected to the internet like a sophisticated net, such an environment gives a suitable environment for cyber attackers, so-called cyber-terrorists. As a result, a number of cyber attacks has significantly increased and researches to find cyber attack traffics in the field of network monitoring has also been proceeding. But cyber attack traffics have been appearing in new forms in every attack making it harder to monitor. This paper suggests a method of tracking down cyber attack traffic sources by defining relational information flow of traffic data from highest cascaded and grouped relational flow. The result of applying this cyber attack source tracking method to real cyber attack traffic, was found to be reliable with quality results.

  • From the respect of economics, environmental industry has not defined clearly since environmental services and goods are so broad to focus. Therefore many countries are using their own version of environmental industry. Hence analysis of environmental industry is very limited. In this thesis, based on the definition of Bureau Statistical Office in Korea, economic analysis for the industrial spill effect, production effect, value-added effect has been done by using 1995, 1998 I-O tables published from the Bank of Korea. Even if portion of production from environmental industry in Korea is quite low so far, forward and backward effect has quite impact on the whole industry and show strong intermediate goods.   • This study aims to identify the impact of the logistics industry on the Korean national economy. To do this, we used a MRIO table provided by the Bank of Korea which includes inter and intra regional relationship of the production and consumption for 6 areas - the Seoul Metropolitan, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeonra, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam area, but an original MRIO table was recomposed of 29 sectors focused on logistics industry for the purpose of this study. we analyzed producing-inducing effects, supply-shortage effects and inter-industry linkage effects based on logistics industry by region and industry. As a result, the logistics industry has more supply-shortage effect rather than production-inducing effect and has a higher ripple effect on the automotive in Gyeongnam area and petrochemical industry in Jeonra area. In particular, the ripple effect of th Metropolitan logistic industry was far smaller than that of other areas, because the Seoul Metropolitan industry was identified as the primary and middle demand industry.

  • Boilers of large-sized coal-fired power plants are being operated under very poor conditions such as continuous operation or repeating of start-up and shutdown for a stable supply of electricity. Thus periodic inspection and maintenance are required to ensure reliability of operation. The loads of existing scaffolding systems for the maintenance of boilers are concentrated in the lower parts structurally, which may cause a serial collapse of the overall scaffolding system when there are problems in some members. Therefore, in this study, a safe furnace scaffolding system is developed by dispersing the loads in the upper part, as well as minimizing the hazards of serial collapsing. In addition, for cases where the direct installation of furnace scaffolding is challenging owing to the structure of the boiler tube, a lifting system for the installation of furnace scaffolding is developed so that furnace scaffolding can be supported to secure the integrity of the power generating facility.

  • After starting digital terrestrial broadcasting, there have been a number oftrials to provide new services like data broadcasting on a spare bandwidth of a DTV channel. Recently, the Push-VOD service, which provides A/V contents on that bandwidth, gets more attention and is being standardized as NRT(Non-Real-Time) by ATSC. However, it is highly probable that the contents transmitted in this way contain many errors due to the DTV receiving environment. Thus, in order to improve the reliability of transmission, the contents should be transmitted repeatedly several times, considering the unidirectional property of DTV terrestrial network. In this paper, we propose a method to calculate the optimal number of repetitions to transmit each contents in a way that minimizes the number of errors occured, when trying to transmit several contents to the receiver in a restricted time, using Markov-chain modeling and dynamic programming approach.

  • In the modern scientific R&D, the efficient acquisition, curation, analysis and visualization are core elements of the science development. The value of scientific data is very important in data intensive research. An output of scientific data is drastically increasing. However we have only each individual system of scientific data in now. Therefore We feel a lack of efficiency of scientific data. In this paper, We analyze an economic ripple effects in terms of production inducement effect, added value inducement effect, labor inducement effect and forward backward linkage effect of national scientific data center construction using an input-out analysis of the bank of Korea(2009). We also examine an economic propriety of national scientific data center construction.
