Purpose In the procedure of domestic medical radioactive self-disposal, there are many requests of supplementation and difficulties on the screening process. In this regard, presentation of basic guideline will improve the work processing efficiency of medical institution radioactive waste. From 2015 to 2016, We reviewed and compared a supplementary requests of domestic fifteen medical institution radioactive self-disposal Plan & Procedure manual. In connection with this, we derive the details of the radioactive waste document based on the relative regulation of nuclear safety Act. The representative supplementary requests of Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety are disposal method of non-flammability radioactive waste, storage method of scheduled self-disposal waste, the legitimacy of self-disposal and pre-treatment of self-disposal, reference radioactivity of disused filter and output of storage period, attachment the evidential matter of measurement efficiency when using a gamma counter. Through establishing a medical radioactive waste guideline, we can clearly suggest a classification standard of radioactive nuclide and the type of occurrence. As a result, we can confirm the reduction of examination processing period while preparing a self-disposal document and there is no spending expenses for business agency. Also, the storage efficiency of facility will better and reduce the economic expenses. On the basis of this guideline, we will expect a contribution to the improvement of work efficiency for officials who has a working-level difficulty of radioactive waste self-disposal.

A stoichiometric mixture of evaporating materials for $AgGaS_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal electric furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, $AgGaS_2$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the hot wall epitaxy (HWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were $590^{\circ}C\;and\;440^{\circ}C$, respectively The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the $AgGaS_2$ obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, $E_g(T)=2.7284 eV-(8.695{\times}10^{-4}eV/K)T^2/T(T+332K)$. After the as-grown $AgGaS_2$, single crystal thin films was annealed in Ag-, S-, and Ga-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of $AgGaS_2$ single crystal thin films has been investigated by the photoluminescence(PL) at 10K. The native defects of $V_{Ag},\;V_s,\;Ag_{int},\;and\;S_{int}$, obtained by PL measurements were classified as a donors or acceptors type. And we concluded that the heat-treatment in the Ag-atmosphere converted $AgGaS_2$ single crystal thin films to an optical n-type. Also, we confirmed that Ga in $AgGaS_2$ crystal thin films did not form the native defects because Ga in $AgGaS_2$ single crystal thin films existed in the form of stable bonds.
Equivalent Single-Degree-of-Freedom(SDOF) analysis, most used for blast-resistant design, does not consider the effects of gravity load on the performance evaluation of blast resistance of structural members. However, since there exists gravity load on columns and walls of structures, the blast resistance of structural members should be evaluated considering gravity load on them. In this paper, an approach to reflect the gravity load effects on the equivalent SDOF analysis for dynamic blast response of structural members is proposed. For this purpose, the parametric studies using finite element analysis were performed by varying maximum blast load, blast load duration, and gravity load with constant the resistance and natural period of a structural member. The finite element analysis results were compared with the equivalent SDOF analysis results and the blast response of the structure member was estimated by conducting finite element analyses for various gravity loads. Finally, a graphical solution for ductility of a structural member with the variables of blast load, gravity load and structural member properties was developed. The blast response of structural members under gravity load could be estimated reasonably and easily by using this graphical solution.

In this study, the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics were evaluated for multi-tube $CO_2$ water heaters with lengths of 4.5 m and 7.5 m. The evaluation was done using the -NTU method, and the results were compared with experimental data. Water flows through the shell side of the water heater, while $CO_2$ flows through 8 inner tubes. The heater uses a counter-current design to maximize the heat transfer efficiency. The energy balance equation describing the flows of $CO_2$ and water for each node is set up using the section-by-section method. The calculated heat transfer rates agree well with the experimental data within ${\pm}5%$ error. The outlet water temperature decreased linearly with the increase of the water flow rate. The calculated heat transfer rates agreed well with the experimental data within ${\pm}3%$ error. The results show that the heat transfer rate increases almost linearly with the increase of water flow rate or $CO_2$ inlet temperature in both the 4.5-m and 7.5-m water heaters, whereas the water outlet temperature linearly decreases with the increase of the water flow rate. The comparison of the $CO_2$ pressure drop between the calculation and experiment results shows good agreement at the high $CO_2$ flow rate within 5 % error, but the value is about 20 % higher in the experimental pressure drop at the low $CO_2$ flow rate.
In this study, scaled model tests were performed on blasting demolition of reinforced concrete structures and the experimental results were analyzed in comparison with the results of numerical analysis. The tests were designed to induce a progressive collapse, and physical properties of the scaled model were determined using scale factors obtained ken dimension analysis. The scaled model structure was made of a mixture of plaster, sand and water at the ratio determined to yield the best scaled-down strength. Lead wire was used as a substitute for reinforcing bars. The scaled length was at the ratio of 1/10. Selecting the material and scaled factors was aimed at obtaining appropriately scaled-down strength. PFC2D (Particle Flow Code 2-Dimension) employing DEM (Distinct Element Method) was used for the numerical analysis. Blasting demolition of scaled 3-D plain concrete laymen structure was filmed and compared to results of numerical simulation. Despite the limits of 2-D simulation the resulting demolition behaviors were similar to each other. Based on the above experimental results in combination with bending test results of RC beam, numerical analysis was carried out to determine the blasting sequence and delay times. Scaled model test of RC structure resulted in remarkably similar collapse with the numerical results up to 900㎳ (mili-second).
Block copolymers including ABA triblock architectures are useful as thermoplastic elastomers and toughened plastics depending on the relative glassy and rubbery content. These materials can be blended with other polymers and utilized as additives, toughening agents, and compatibilizers. Most of commercially available block copolymers are derived from petroleum. Renewable alternatives are attractive considering the finite supply of fossil resources on earth and the overall economic and environmental expenses involved in the recovery and use of oil. Furthermore, tomorrow's sustainable materials are demanding the design and implementation with programmed end-of-life. The present review focuses on the preparation and evaluation of new classes of renewable ABA triblock copolymers and also emphasizes on the use of carbohydrate-derived poly(lactide) or plant-based poly(olefins) having a high glass transition temperature and/or high melting temperature for the hard phase in addition to the use of bio-based amorphous hydrocarbon polymers with a low glass transition temperature for the soft components. The combination of multiple controlled polymerizations has proven to be a powerful approach. Precision-controlled synthesis of these hybrid macromolecules has led to the development of new elastomers and tough plastics offering renewability, biodegradability, and high performance.
Purple Gold is the alloy consisting of 78wt%Au-22wt%Al, and is expressed as a chemical formula, $AuAl_2$. Lately it is being used for the material of accessories or the decorative ornaments, being one of the colored golds having the peculiar purple color, like White Gold and Pink Gold. Purple Gold has the weak point in shaping through casting process due to the bad malleability and castability, being the intermetalic compound of Au and Al. Therefore, it is possible to produce the final product only by the cutting and the grinding process or to use it as a decorative coat with the thin film evaporation. This study implemented two kinds of thin film experiments. One is the case that heat treatment was made after Au and Al deposition evaporated separately with a weight ratio 78:22 on the 200nm$SiO_2$/Si substrate. The other is the case that the surface deposition was made through the vacuum evaporation, keeping the glass substrate temperature remain room temperature, using the bulk $AuAl_2$ as a source. The final film property was measured, focusing on the Purple Gold's color and thickness through the bare eye inspection, the microstructure analysis, the surface resistance analysis, the color difference analysis, and XRD analysis. Purple Gold was not formed, as the excessive surface agglomeration occurred, in case of being produced and treated thermally with 12.5nmAu/40nmAl/200nm$SiO_2$/Si structure. Our results suggest that of Purple Gold films, showing the same purple color as the bulk's, were successfully deposited with the direct thermal evaporation from the $AuAl_2$ bulk source.

Mechanically fastening FRP (MF-FRP) strips using nails and anchors, has been shown to provide a more ductile behavior to the strengthened structural element than using bonded FRP. To further advance the state of the knowledge on this strengthening method, the current study examined environmental effects for six months on MF-FRP beams. Reinforced concrete beams strengthened with mechanically fastened FRP strips and subjected to sustained loads for six months were exposed to outdoor weather and constant high temperatures ($40^{\circ}C$). For comparison, the behavior of RC beam with and without sustained loads was evaluated. Results from flexural tests did not show any significant degradation or change of failure mode as a result of sustained load and of environmental effects such as high temperatures and outdoor weather over a period of six months. Failure of the beams was governed by FRP delamination followed by concrete crushing as not much load applied to the nail and anchors because of slip effects.

This paper concerns about total dynamic analysis of integrated mining system. This system consists of vertical steel pipe, intermediate buffer station, flexible pipe and self-propelled miner. The self-propelled miner and buffer are assumed as rigid-body of 6-dof. Discrete models of vertical steel pipe and flexible pipe are adopted, which are obtained by means of lumped-parameter method. The motion of mining vessel is not considered. Instead, the motion of mining vessel is taken into account in form of various boundary conditions (e.g. forced excitation in slow motion and/or fast oscillation and so on). A terramechanics model of extremely cohesive soft soil is applied to the self-propelled miner. Hinged and ball constraints are used to define the connections between sub-systems (vertical steel pipe, buffer, flexible pipe, self-propelled miner). Equations of motion of the coupled model are derived with respect to the each local coordinates system. Four Euler parameters are used to express the orientations of the sub-systems. To solve the equations of motion of the total dynamic model, an incremental-iterative formulation is employed. Newmark-${\beta}$ method is used for time-domain integration. The total dynamic responses of integrated mining system are investigated.

Crashworthy fuel cells have a great influence on improving the survivability of crews. Since 1960's, the US army has developed a detailed military specification, MIL-DTL-27422, defining the performance requirements for rotorcraft fuel cells. In the qualification tests required by MIL-DTL-27422, the crash impact test should be conducted to verify the crashworthiness of fuel cell. Success of the crash impact test means the improvement of survivability of crews by preventing post-crash fire. But, there is a big risk of failure due to huge external load in the crash impact test. Because the crash impact test itself takes a long-term preparation efforts together with costly fuel cell specimens, the failure of crash impact test can result in serious delay of a entire rotorcraft development. Thus, the numerical simulations of the crash impact test has been required at the early design stage to minimize the possibility of trial-and-error with full-scale fuel cells. Present study performs the numerical simulation using SPH(smoothed particle hydro-dynamic) method supported by a crash simulation software, LS-DYNA. Test condition of MIL-DTL-27422 is reflected on analysis and material data is acquired by specimen test of fuel cell material. As a result, the resulting equivalent stresses of fuel cell itself are calculated and vulnerable areas are also evaluated.
