Effect of Cr/Ni equivalent ratio on ductility-dip cracking in AISI 316L austenitic stainless steel weld metals ($Cr_{eq}/Ni_{eq}$ 당량비에 따른 AISI 316L 스테인리스강의 연성저하균열 특성에 대한 연구)

  • AISI 316L 스테인리스강에 새롭게 디자인한 서로 다른 3가지 응고모드를 가진 와이어로 FCAW(Flux Cored Arc Welding)을 하였다. 각각의 3가지 와이어는 Pseudobinary phase diagram에 따라 AF, FA, F모드를 가졌다. 미세조직은 $Cr_{eq}/Ni_{eq}$이 증가할수록 델타 페라이트 함량이 증가하였으며, 초정 상의 경우 초정 오스테나이트에서 초정 페라이트로 변태하였고, 연성저하균열의 민감도가 감소하였다. 연성저하균열은 이동결정립계의 형상에 따라 좌우되며, 미량의 페라이트를 함유한 오스테나이트에서는 페라이트가 핀(Pin) 역할을 제대로 하지 못하여 직선형태의 이동 결정립계 따라 입계 미끄러짐의 메커니즘을 통해 전파되었으며, 곡선형태의 이동 결정립계에서는 델타 페라이트가 핀 역할을 하여 역할을 하여 구속 상태에서 응력집중을 막고 응력을 분산시켜 균열이 전파되는 것을 방해하여 균열이 발생되지 않았다.

Aeroelastic Behaviors of Self-anchored Suspension Bridge with Lateral Sag of Main Cable(II) - Focused on the Behavior of Tower - (횡방향 새그를 가진 자정식 현수교의 공탄성 거동(II) - 주탑의 거동을 중심으로 -)

  • Wind tunnel test results and their interpretations, which were performed to study the aerodynamic stability of tower of self-anchored suspension bridge, are presented in this paper. Tower and full models were tested under smooth and turbulent flow conditions. In the case of the tower with inclined two columns, the vibration due to wakes were occurred at wide velocity zone because the wakes with various frequencies were generated by inclined upstream column. It has to be emphasized that the vibration characteristics of the tower in the self-anchored suspension bridge may be very sensitive to the longitudinal boundary conditions of the girder at the supports. Because of the two natural frequency of the tower, out-of-plane bending and torsional, were not well separated, coupled motions were observed in a wide range of wind velocity. The effectiveness of corner cut, countermeasure to reduce the tower vibrations, was also studied. It has been found that 1:10, comer cut size to column width, may be the most effective ratio for reducing the vibrations.

Analytical Study on the Slewing Dynamics of Hybrid Coordinate Systems (복합좌표계 시스템의 선회동역학에 관한 해석적 연구)

  • In this paper, an analytic solution method is proposed to overcome the numerical problems when the slewing dynamics of hybrid coordinate systems is investigated via time finite element analysis. It is shown that the dynamics of the hybrid coordinate systems is governed by the coupled dual differential equations for both slewing and structural modes. Structural modes are transformed into the time-based modal coordinates and analytic spatial propagation equations are derived for each space-dependent time mode. Slew angle history is obtained analytically by appropriate applications of the boundary conditions and structural propagation is re-calculated using the slew angle. Numerical examples are demonstrated to validate the proposed analytic method in comparison to the existing state transition matrix method.

  • In order to study the vibration characteristics of fluid-structure interaction problem, two rectangular plates coupled with bounded fluid were investigated. Experimental modal analyses were carried out to extract the modal parameters of the system. Additionally. finite element modal analyses performed using a commercial computer code, ANSYS. The FEM solutions were compared with the experimental solutions to verify the finite element model. As a result, the comparison between the experiment and FEM results showed excellent agreement. The transverse vibration modes, in-phase and out-of-phase, were observed alternately in the fluid-coupled system. The thickness effect of the plates on the fluid-coupled natural frequencies and mode shapes was investigated for two different cases with the identical thickness and the unequal thickness. It was found that the coupled natural frequencies increase with the thickness for the identical plates regardless of the mode phase. The experimental and the finite element analysis results showed that the out-of-phase mode shapes were deviated from the symmetrical mode shapes in the plate transverse direction fur the unequal plate thickness case.

Mode Selection Chain Code for Coding of Line Drawing Images (선도형의 부호화를 위한 모드설정 체인코드)

  • Line drawing images are the most proper information to represent the characteristics and shapes of digital images and used for recognition and communication. For the coding of line drawing images, common eight-direction chain code is used mostly. In the paper, the new mode selection chain code method is proposed which can compress the eight-direction chain code about twenty percents and be used for the reversible coding method of line drawing images. In this coding techniques, we set a reference mode for each quadrant around an abject pixel, and assign 3-directional code for these reference modes. Therefore a line pixel is coded with 3 bits. Also, a new corner finding method of line drawing images using this mode selection chain code is proposed in this paper.

  • In this paper an optimization algorithm is suggested to reduce the huge computation time in the optimum design of large structures, especially in spacecraft structures. It combines the coupled load analysis model using a constrained mode of component mode synthesis and the modal transient analysis. The computer simulation code is developed and evaluated in optimizing spacecraft platforms. The developed algorithm can alleviate the computational load with adequate accuracy. From the optimization of a spacecraft structural member, the characteristics of each structural member can be understood.

  • This paper explains a general coupling system in terms of the system parameters. impedance of a cavity or mobility of a structure. To easily access the mechanism of the structural-acoustic coupled system, a simple expression is derived. A general coupled equation is also derived of a general coupled problem constituted a flexible structure and an opening boundary in terms of vector and matrix notation, and is analyzed the coupling phenomena using the understanding acquired simple coupled system. The paper shows that the general coupled equation is expanded version of the simple coupled equation by some limiting checks. The paper also shows that the degree of coupling is proportioned to a stiffness of the acoustic system and a modal coupling coefficient, but is in inverse proportion to a mass of the structural system and the difference of the excitation frequency and resonant frequency of the acoustic or structural system.

A Study on Wave Propagation in Drilling Boreholes at Low Frequencies (석유시추공에서의 저주파음향의 전달에 관한 연구)

  • To understand how low-frequency sound waves propagate axially in drilling boreholes, the propagation modes and speeds including the effect of interaction among layers are obtained by analyzing an infinitely-long, uniform, and cylindrically multi-layered waveguide which is consisted of fluid layers and solid layers. Assuming low frequency(wave length considered is very long compared to the borehole diameter), axisymmetry, non-viscosity, and etc., analytical solutions are obtained. Also, sound reflection due to the changes in the cross section is analyzed. Results for typical drilling boreholes show the usefulness of the method developed in this research, and are compared with FEM results showing good agreements.

Mechanical Properties and Microstructural Analysis of Sn-40Bi-X Alloys (Sn-40Bi-X 합금의 기계적 물성과 미세조직 분석)

  • 저온용 무연 솔더의 대표 조성으로 고려되고 있는 Sn-58Bi(융점: $138^{\circ}C$) 공정(eutectic) 조성은 우수한 강도에도 불구하고 연성(ductility) 측면에서의 문제점이 지속적으로 보고되고 있다. 따라서 이 합금계의 연성을 최대로 개선시킬 수 있으면서도 실제 상용화가 가능한 합금 조성의 개발 연구가 요청된다. 본 연구에서는 Sn-Bi 2원계 조성에서 최대의 연성을 나타내는 것으로 보고된 Sn-40Bi 조성에 미량의 합금원소를 첨가함으로써 최대의 연성을 확보하는 한편, 그 연성 특성이 변형속도에 어느 정도 민감한지를 인장 실험을 통해 결정하고자 하였다. 합금원소로는 0.1~0.5 wt%의 Ag, Mn, In, Cu를 선택하였으며, 인장 시편을 제조하여 $10^{-2}$, $10^{-3}$, $10^{-4}\;s^{-1}$의 3종류로 변형속도를 변형시켜가며 응력-변형 곡선(stress-strain curve)을 측정하였고, 조성별, 변형속도별로 최대인장강도(ultimate tensile stress, UTS) 및 연신율 결과들을 정리하였다. 합금원소를 첨가한 조성의 경우는 모든 시험 조건에서 Sn-40Bi보다 우수한 연신률을 나타내는 것으로 측정되었으나, $10^{-2}\;s^{-1}$의 빠른 변형속도에서는 그 향상 정도가 상대적으로 감소하는 경향이 관찰되었다. 특히 Sn-40Bi-0.5Ag 조성의 경우 느린 변형속도에서 특히 눈에 띄는 연신률 값을 나타내며, 모든 변형속도 조건에서 가장 우수한 연성을 나타내었다. 한편 Sn-40Bi-0.1Cu 조성의 경우 변형속도에 따른 연신률의 변화 정도, 즉, 변형속도에 따른 연신률의 민감도가 매우 커 $10^{-4}\;s^{-1}$ 속도에서는 Sn-40Bi-0.5Ag에 버금가는 연신률 값이 측정되었으나, $10^{-2}\;s^{-1}$ 속도에서는 가장 나쁜 연신률 특성을 보여주었다. Sn-40Bi-0.2Mn 조성은 최고의 연신률 향상 특성을 나타내지는 않았으나, In을 첨가한 경우보다는 대체적으로 우수한 연성을 나타내었다. 이상의 각 합금별 연성 특성은 인장시험 전의 미세조직 관찰 결과와 인장시험 후 파면부의 조직변화 관찰 결과로부터 해석되었다. 그 결과 석출상의 형성 여부, 인장 시험 중 재결정 조직의 형성 여부, 라멜라(lamellar) 조직의 분율과 라멜라 간격(lamellar spacing)의 정도 또는 $\beta$-Sn과 라멜라 조직 사이의 결정립계와 라멜라 조직 내 결정립계에서의 슬라이딩 모드(sliding mode) 변형 정도, 석출상의 크기와 분포 정도 등이 연신률 및 변형속도 민감도와 같은 연성 특성에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 인자인 것으로 분석되었다.

Non-linear Phenomenon in the Response of Circle Cantilever Beam (원형 외팔보의 응답에서의 비선형 현상)

  • This paper is the result of a experimental study about non-linear one to one modal coupling of a flexible circular cantilever beam which was transversely excited with harmonic excitation. It was proved that 2 order jumping in out of plane was caused by jump phenomenon in in-plane of flexible circular cantilever beam, because of non-linear coupling. In addition, cantilever beam showed hardening spring characteristics in in-plane and softening spring characteristics in out-of-plane.
