An Experimental Study for Joints in Hybrid PSC-Steel Beam with Perfobond rib (Perfobond rib을 적용한 PSC-강 복합구조 연결부 거동에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • This study presents experimental results of Steel-PSC hybrid beams having a rear plate joint with a perfobond rib shear connector between the steel girder and the prestressed concrete girder. Three specimens of 3.9m length(3.6m span length) were tested to evaluate the flexural characteristics of the joint under the condition of the three point loading. Based on load-deflection curves and failure modes of specimens by the experimental test, it is found that the proposed joint with the perfobond rib shear connector shows the higher strength and initial stiffness and the sufficient ductility. Therefore, the suggested perfobond rib shear connector can perform effectively as the joint of the Steel-PSC hybrid structural system.

  • An experimental investigation on the behavior of reinforced concrete coupling beams is presented. The test variables are the span-to-depth ratio, the ratio of flexural reinforcements and the ratio of shear rebars. The distribution of arch action and truss action which compose the mechanism of shear resistance is discussed. The increase of plastic deformation after yielding transforms the shear transfer by arch action into by truss action. This study proposes the deformation model for reinforced concrete coupling beams considering the bond slip of flexural reinforcement. The strain distribution model of shear reinforcements and flexural reinforcements based on test results is presented. The yielding of flexural reinforcements determines yielding states and the ultimate states of reinforced concrete coupling beam are defined as the ultimate compressive strain of struts and the degradation of compressive strength due to principal tensile strain of struts. The flexural-shear failure mechanism determines the ultimate state of RC coupling beams. It is expected that this model can be applied to displacement-based design methods.

Shear Strength Evaluation of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Coupling Beams with Conventional Reinforcements Details (일반 철근 배근 상세를 갖는 강섬유 보강 콘크리트 연결보의 전단강도 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to prevent diagonal tension failure of existing conventional coupling beams, increase the shear strength of conventional coupling beams, and quantitatively evaluate the increase. Steel fibers can improve shear strength and partially change the failure mechanism, but this is the result of research on general RC beams and columns, and research on the shear strength enhancement of conventional coupling beams for steel fiber reinforced concrete is still lacking. Therefore, in order to confirm the increased shear strength caused by steel fiber and the resulting change in failure mechanism, three specimens were fabricated with the steel fiber volume fraction as a variable (0%, 1%, 2%) and repeated loading experiments were performed. As a result, the shear strength of the specimens reinforced with steel fibers (1%, 2%) increased as the shear resistance contribution of concrete increased after the maximum strength was developed compared to the specimens without it (0%).

  • New high strength bolts are required due to the development of the high strength steel, the ultra-thick steel plates, and the long-span bridge, though high strength bolts with tensile strength of 1,000 MPa are mainly used in construction site of every country. Consequently, in this study, we estimated the fatigue strength by performing fatigue test of slip-resistant splices with slip coefficients applying the newly developed F13T high strength bolts. The fatigue test satisfied the Category B requirements with the fatigue strength of slip-resistant splices. Also we analyzed the fatigue fracture characteristics of slip-resistant splices.

  • Cyclic loading tests for shear dominant hybrid steel link beams with circular web openings were performed to evaluate the seismic performance. Four half-scaled specimens with bolted connections were tested. The test parameter is a diameter of the web opening, i.e., shear strength ratio ($V_{pw}/V_p$) of the link beam and presence of top-seat angles. Using test results, adequate design shear strength of link beam was finally suggested. Test results showed that when the shear capacity is less than half of the plastic shear strength, seismic performance was improved due to mitigation of pinching under reversed cyclic inelastic deformations.

Experimental Study on Bond Behavior of 1/12.5 Scale Model of the Steel Tubular Joint Connection Subjected to Compressive Loads (압축하중을 받는 1/12.5 축소모형 강관 연결부의 부착전단 거동에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, the compressive behavior of a 1/12.5 scale model of a wind tower support structure connection was experimentally analyzed. A high-performance cementitious grout with a compressive strength of 140 MPa was used to fill the connection, and experiments were conducted with shear key spacing, the shape, and connection length as variables. When the number of shear keys in the connection is the same, the smaller the spacing of the shear keys than the length of the connection, the higher the shear strength, and for the same spacing and connection length, the higher the height of the shear keys, the higher the strength. In addition, it was found that the strength showed a linear behaviour until the connection slip reached 1.0 mm, and it reached the maximum strength at 7.0 mm connection slip showing a non-linear behaviour as the load increased. It was found that the failure mode changed from interfacial shear failure to grout failure as the strength increased according to the shape and spacing of the shear key, and brittle failure did not occur due to steel fibers.

  • 연속 음성 인식을 위한 신경망과 학습속도를 줄이기 위한 연결강도 초기화에 관해 다루고 있다. 우선 음소를 여러개의 그룹으로 나눈 후 각각의그룹에 대한 음소를 인식하는 신경망과 자신의 그룹을 판별하는 VGNN 으로 신경망을 구성한다. 여기서 구성되는 신경망은 각각의 음소를 인식하는 출력을 낼 뿐 아니라, 입력이 자신의 그룹에 속하는지 그렇지 않은지를 판별하는 출력을 낸다. 이런 신경망을 학습시키는 데 상당한 시간이 걸리므로 이 신경망의 학습속도를 줄이기 위해 학습 데이터를 사용하여 신경망의 연결 강도를 초기화한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 쌍동선 연결부의 횡강도와 관련하여 국내기준 및 국제표준, 선급 기준의 관련 내용을 조사하고 각 하중에 대한 계산식 및 관련 계수들에 영향을 미치는 외력 등을 비교 분석하며 샘플선박에 대한 구조계산 및 해석을 수행하여 국내에 적합한 쌍동선 연결부의 횡강도 구조안전성 평가기준을 제시하고 국제표준에 대한 대응방안을 마련하고자 한다.

Estimation of Shear Strength of RC Shear Connection for the Steel-Concrete Composite Girder (강합성 거더용 철근콘크리트 전단연결체의 전단강도 평가)

  • For the purpose of improvement of the load carrying capacity and constructibility of the conventional steel-concrete composite girder through a effective appliance of the construction materials and optimization of the girder section, a new type section of composite girder and RC shear connection were proposed. In this study shear strength of the RC shear connection is estimated, and the characteristics of shear load-slip behaviour is analyzed. Push-out tests on shear specimens and FEM analysis with various design parameters are carried out, and results are analyzed. The results of test and FEM analysis showed that shear strength of RC shear connection is underestimated by the design provisions of the current design code. By regression analysis a empirical equation for the estimation of shear strength of RC shear connection is proposed.

Analysis of Weight Distribution of Feedforward Two-Layer Neural Networks and its Application to Weight Initialization (순방향 2층 신경망의 연결강도 분포 특성 분석 및 연결강도 초기화에 적용)

  • In this paper, we investigate and analyze weight distribution of feed forward two-layer neural networks with a hidden layer in order to understand and improve time-consuming training process of neural networks. Generally, when a new problem is presented, neural networks have to be trained again without any benefit from the previous training process. In order to address this problem, training process is viewed as finding a solution point in the weight space and the distribution of solution points is analyzed. Then we propose to initialize neural networks using the information of the distribution of the solution points. Experimental results show that the proposed initialization using the weight distribution provides a better performance than the conventional one.
