A church's archives aims to preserve the history of the church and inherit the spiritual legacy of Christianity. It also plays critical roles in strengthening the identities of the church members. As such, this study focuses the role of a church archive and, in particular, its acquisition policies. An acquisition policy is the foundation of archival records management, which is achieved by balancing the scope of the collection and collecting various record types. For this, the authors analyzed the acquisition process of Young-nak Church's archives and also conducted in-depth interviews with the archivists.

The comparative analysis of fire-driven flow simulation for Dae-Gu subway station was performed using FDS and Fluent. The boundary condition was obtained from analyzed data for Dae-Gu subway fire accident which had been outbreaked in 2003 year. The smoke flow in the second and third basement has been analyzed. The CO and temperature distribution in the train units and station platform have been obtained with FDS and FLUENT and compared with each other. Total simulation time is 600s and the results are compared of each 10sec The analyzed data will be applied to the passenger evacuation simulation for Dae-Gu subway station and used to optimal design method.

The Korean history textbook is a basic teaching material for learning history. Students learn the past and also understand history through Korean history textbooks. The Korean history textbooks are comprised of educational materials arousing students' interest. What is helpful to education in the visual form is photo materials. As visual data, such photo materials play roles not only in arousing students' interest more than texts filled with writings, but also in making students experience history of the time indirectly in more objective form. Since such photo materials are playing essential roles in Korean history textbooks, if photos with errors are used, it can create huge confusion. This study analyzed the reliability and suitability of photo materials in eight Korean history textbooks of high school, depending on each type of photo. Then it suggested the measures of composing photo materials in Korean history textbooks revised in the future. The future textbooks will contain more amount of photo materials with the higher weight of photo materials.

Percival Lowell was the first foreigner who came into Korea with a camera in 1883 and left about 80 of photographic materials. The materials have not been studied even though all of them are the only and first in the history of Korea. Most of the materials archived by Putnam Collection Center in America are offered on-line with wrong explanations and referred by writers and researchers. So that I studied the contents of the photographic materials and suggest corrected explanations to the Center.

Both Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing fields have been nearly neglected or ignored by historical geographers.This paper intends to show the potentiality of satellite images of various spatial reslutions to explore and to express themes of historical geography. Old Chinese maps and atlas were also used to relate the digital values and historical facfors. Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer data might be used as a real image for a contintal scale to show changes in coastal shoreline. Landsat Thematic Mapper Imagery of Beijing showed some of boundaries of old palace. Finally IKONOS images of one meter resolution showed detailed information of landcover and landuse of the City, Beijing. The potential capability and limitation to apply satellite imagery in application of historical geography are also discussed.

More than 100 years of railway history in Korea, many of disused stations and railroads are happening. Many of disused stations are designated as registered cultural properties because of their historical value, and should be utilized considering their historical meaning. The purpose of this study is to analyse the status and utilization of disused station designated as registered cultural properties, research the domestic and foreign cases of successful reutilization, and provide basic materials for desirable utilization of underused space. Status and utilization of 23 stations are classified as closed-type, continued-type, changed-type, toured-type, and different alternatives are analysed from foreign cases. From case study utilization appling user and detailed utilization are classified as follows; Proprietor(Manager)'s Private Use, Proprietor(Manager)'s Public Use, Community's Public Use, Participant's Cooperative Use, and Tourist's Purposeful Use. The successful utilization of small disused station will be carried out with respect for disused station as cultural heritage, using place of coexistence and symbiosis for community, and effort to make spontaneous growth by participation of various users.

In this study, we looked at how to preserve and use the Yibugok earthen fortification ruin in Sangju, which has recently been actively investigated and researched. Now that the coronavirus pandemic has become a reality, a utilization plan using local historical and cultural resources can be the starting point for regional revitalization. To this end, this study first reviewed the historical value of the Sangju Yibugok earthen fortification. The historical and cultural resource value of the fortification was reviewed in recent archaeological achievements along with the results of existing literature research, and distortion in its utilization was avoided. Next, an analysis of the perception of the demand class and local residents, the subject of utilization, was conducted with visitor statistics and surveys. This is because empathy for historical and cultural resources by the demand class and local residents, who are the main agents of utilization, is the most important factor in the use of cultural assets. Based on the theoretical review presented above, the use cases of ancient fortification ruins were examined in the last chapter 4, and a utilization plan for the fortification was presented focusing on empathy. This study was conducted with a focus on the historical value of the use of the fortification ruins, the empathy of the demand class, and the public. In order to overcome the crisis in Sangju, a high-risk area due to population decline, various measures must be proposed, and establishing historical and cultural identity at the center of Sabeolguk and enhancing its image through various utilization measures can be one of the alternatives.
