  • The purpose of this study is to qualitatively analyze the perceptions of aesthetic values of working women taking ballet fitness classes and to find ways to properly establish ballet fitness classes according to the opinions of the study participants. Participants in the study were 9 working women taking ballet fitness classes at local educational institutions, and FGI (Focus Group Interview) was conducted, and the interview was conducted based on a semi-structured questionnaire. Subsequently, the categorization content was derived through expert review and peer review. As a result, first, the study participants expressed their dissatisfaction, hoping that the ballet fitness class helped improve their daily enjoyment and pain, and even watched ballet performance with interest. Second, the participants of the study were actively publicizing the benefits of ballet fitness classes to their families and nearby acquaintances, and hoped that this exercise would help improve the difficult image of ballet. Based on this study, ballet fitness classes were expected to be sufficiently established as a hobby exercise for working women.

  • Background: There have been no reports of studies on the effect of a combination of myofascial relaxation technique and passive stretching on the lower extremity body shape of working women. Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of myofascial relaxation technique and passive stretching on body composition and body composition analysis (intracellular fluid, skeletal muscle mass, body cell mass), etc. Methods: The subjects of this study were 30 women at a body shape management center who had many problems with their subjective lower extremity body shape. Fifteen subjects were in the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group applied the fascial relaxation technique twice a week for nine weeks. The control group conducted stretches by themselves at least twice a week according to the active stretching instructions. The ANOVA program analyzed the data. Results: In the experimental group, intracellular fluid (p < .05), skeletal muscle mass (p < .048), and body cell mass (p < .047) were significantly increased. Conclusion: The lower extremity edema of working women decreased

  • Female tollgate workers are known to be the most highly exposed to job stress in the service industry. However, there have been few studies on female tollgate workers. This study was thus performed to verify the mediator effect of work-family conflicts in the relationship between job stress and turnover intention of female tollgate workers. A survey was carried out in May, 2016, and the final data were obtained from 183 female tollgate workers by quota sampling. The major result was that their job stress significantly influenced on turnover intention, and work-family conflicts between the two variables were partially mediated. On the basis of the outcomes, first, further studies are needed to develop customized supporting programs for the female tollgate workers; second, internal efforts, such as psychological and social support programs such as Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), should be launched for the workers at the enterprise level; third, national attention must be paid to improve the work environments of female tollgate workers.

  • This study was peformed to assess the relationships among bone mineral density (BMD), Physiological characteristics and lifestyle factors in 61 premenopausal working women aged 30∼49 y in Busan. The BMDs of the lumbar spines (Ll∼L4), femoral necks (FN), ward's triangles (WT) and trochanters (TC) were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. Data for physiological characteristics and physical activity was assessed by questionnaire and usual intakes of coffee, green tea, alcohol, Coca cola by food frequency questionnaire. The BMDs of L14, FN, WT and TC were 1.02 g/$\textrm{cm}^2$, 0.76 g/$\textrm{cm}^2$,0.69 g/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 0.66 g/$\textrm{cm}^2$respectively The BMD of FN was assessed as osteopenia by T-score. The BMD of WT was positively correlated with age of monarch (p<0.05) and the BMD of Ll4 was positively correlated with delivery number (p<0.05). The BMD of Ll4 was positively correlated with hours of outdoor activity per weekend and week (p<0.05, p<0.05). The BMDs of FN and WT (p<0.05, p<0.05) were positively correlated with intake of green tea per month and the BMD of FN (p<0.05) was positively correlated with intake of wine per month. But the BMD of Ll (p<0.05) was negatively correlated with intake of Coca cola per month. So nutritional education for increasing hours of outdoor activity and decreasing intake frequency of beverage contributing to diminishment of bone mineral density is needed for premenopausal working women to prevent osteoporosis.

  • The aim of this study was to identify the status of health functional food consumption of working women. The 558 subjects of the study were aged between 10-60 years, and had previous experiences of consuming health functional foods. The majority of the subjects lived in Seoul, and some lived in the Gyeonggi Province. The most prevalent goals that the subjects hoped to achieve by consuming health functional foods were improvement of physical health status and reduction of exhaustion. Other goals included supplement of nutrition, and prevention or treatment of diseases. Those who were older or who possessed a high BMI spent more expenses on health functional foods, and showed a higher intake frequency as well as longer periods of consumption. Subjects placed in the older group showed a lower level of knowledge related to functional foods, which turned out to be statistically significant. Most of the respondents answered that their knowledge related to functional foods was picked up from listening to others. In conclusion, we were able to observe that groups with elder working women and high BMI show higher consumption and expense rates of health functional foods, as well as longer periods of consumption. However, they show a minimum level of knowledge related to functional foods. According to our results, these subjects should seek practical help in order to select functional foods that will aid their health, and learn the proper method of consumption. In order to reduce inaccurate consumption of health functional foods, it is imperative that more in-depth study is carried out in this field.

  • Negative experience related to work-family multiple roles has been associated with internalizing problems in mothers. In particular, employed mothers with preschool children report high degree of stress. As such, the need to examine potential factors that may explain and alleviate such difficulties has been emphasized. The purpose of this study was thus to examine the mediating effect of sociotropy on the relationship between negative work-family multiple roles and internalizing problems in employed mothers with preschool children. The Negative Experience of Work-Family Multiple Roles Scale, Adult Self Report (ASR) Scale, and Personal Style Inventory-II (PSI-II), were completed by 208 employed mothers with preschool children through an online survey. The results indicated that the direct effect of negative experience of work-family multiple roles on internalizing problems was statistically significant and the indirect effect of sociotropy in this relationship was significant. These findings suggest that sociotropy in employed mothers may indirectly explain internalizing problems related to multiple roles. The implications of sociotropy in negative experience of work-family multiple roles and internalizing problems are discussed.

  • This study analyzed the relationships between changes in family life due to COVID-19, daily stress, work-family balance conflict and the job satisfaction of married working women. The subjects of this study were 1,934 married women wage workers who were extracted from the data of the 8th year of the female family panel survey surveyed in 2020. Path analysis was conducted to analyze the hypothesis using AMOS 21.0. The study results revealed that family life change doesn't directly affect work-family balance conflict, but increases job satisfaction. But family life change indrectly affects increasing work-family balance conflict and decreasing job satisfaction through daily stress. And daily stress affects increasing work-family balance conflict and decreasing job satisfaction. Additionally work-family balance conflict has an effect on reducing job satisfaction. Based on the results, practice and policy suggestions were made to reduce work-family balance conflict and increase job satisfaction of married working women.
