A Taxonomy of Female Consumers in Daegu (의복쇼핑성향에 따른 소비자의 유형분석 -대구 여성 거주자를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of the study were to classify apparel shoppers into specific apparel shopping orientation groups and to compare the classified groups on importance of store attributes, information sources, lifestyle activities, and demographic characteristics. The data were obtained from questionnaires filled out by 317 women in Daegu and were analysed by utilizing factor analysis, cluster analysis, and ANOVA. By cluster analysis of apparel shopping orientation factors, three groups were identified: Recreational shopper (48%), Economic shoppers (20%), Apathetic shoppers (32%). The results of ANOVA indicated that the cluster groups are significantly different in importance of store attributes (product assortment and shopping convenience), information sources (marketer-driven and consumer -driven), lifestyle activities (regular activities and activites for self-improvement), and IPmnuraDhic characteristics (age and education).

  • The purpose of this study was primarily aimed at the revealing changes in the aspects of women's clothing derivationed with the women's self-consciousness, liberation movement, women's suffrage and social participation from the mid-l9th century to the mid-20th century. According to the study, the main change of western women's costumes were eradication of corset, emergence of troussers and tailored suit, and transformation of sportwear. So that, women's liberation movement has an deep effect on leading up to a change tendency the functionalization and masculinization of women's costume.

Shape Classification of Bodytype of Adult Women - At Sight of Front line of the Body - (성인 여성의 정면 체형에 대한 형태적 분류)

  • To classify the bodytype at sight of front line of the body, 20 to 59 year-old 484 females were examined. 73 photographic and 16 anthropometric measurements were taken to each subject. The indices were used to obtain the shape factor of the bodytype. The principal component analysis was performed to obtain the shape factor of the front line of body and 6 factors were abstracted. The factor score was better than the measurements as the independent variable in applying the cluster analysis to classify the shape. As the result of the cluster analysis, the shape of the body at sight of the front line was classified in 4 types. It was named X, Y, A, H type. Considering the sizes, Y type was obese and H type was lean characteristically.

  • Through the recognition and the satisfaction of the lower part of the women body from age 30 to age 49 we studied 211 respondents of the women to analyze what lower part shape they want. The results are as follows. 1. The recognition of the lower Part showed certain degrees of differences in waist girth, abdomen girth, and weight according to the age. 2. The female of the 40s showed higher satisfaction of their lower part considering that of the 30s 3. The cluster analysis of the lower part shape of the 30s and 40s was classified into 5 types.

  • The purpose of this study is The results was that consumers who like to the top brand's commodities, had commonly high tendency to and fro its trademark and store allegiance. Furthermore, they have usually bought something following on their inclination what they had purchased as well as the store decoration character and the marketing promotion attribute. The other consumers who prefer to the discount store's merchandises, had also high propensity and the biggest influence on buying something which were those factors; their instance shopping habit, utility-economy trait, follow the fashion character and strong circumspection tendency besides using the mass media Info., personal data and commodities' attribute.

  • In the 21st century, men is expressing the femininity instead of the muscularity. And a boundary line between a man and a woman is not clear any more. A man is interested in the lifestyle of a woman, and he imitates her fashion styles, hairstyles, accessories, make-up, and plastic surgery. He is called as "Metrosexual" or "Crossexual". Nowadays, men as well as women can satisfy the wants for beauty. The beautiful appearance of a man has a good impact on the social relationships. The feminizing trends are generally accepted and are shown in the silhouettes, details, colors, fabrics and accessories. The feminizing trends in men's knitwear are shown in the various items. They have slim silhouettes and feminine details. Also they are made of bulky yarns or fancy yarns, and various stitches for texture effects. The most outstanding changes in men's knitwear are the vivid colors and flower patterns.

A Study on the Relationship between Personality Characteristics and Clothing Behaviors -according to the age and the occupation variables- (성인여성의 성격특성과 의복행동간의 관계연구 -연령과 직업변인에 의한-)

  • This study was undertaken to explore the relationships between the personality characteristics (the rigidity and the acceptance of self and others) and the clothing behaviors according to the age and the occupation. The results were as follows; 1. In the clothing behavior, the subjects scored highest in aesthetics followed by comfort, modesty, management, dependence, interest, attention and approval in a descending order. 2. There was no significant relationship between the acceptance and the rigidity characteristics. 3. There was a highly significant relationship between the personality characteristics and the clothing behaviors. 4. There were significant differences in the rigidity characteristics and in modesty, comfort, management clothing variables according to the age. 5. There were significant differences in self-acceptance, rigidity characteristics and in management clothing variable according to the occupational status. 6. No significant interactions was found between age and occupation on personality characteristics and clothing behaviors.

  • Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles Vol. 21, No. 2 (1997) p. 430∼441 Clothing fitness is strongly required in the apparel industry, and draping is an effective tool to increase fitness to the wearers. A more sophisticated and systematic information of the somatotype, accordingly, is necessary for better dress form design. This study was performed to provide fundamental data on middle-aged women's somatotypes for dress form designers by classifying the torso somatotype and analyzing the characteristics of their somatotype. The subjects were directly measured anthropometrically and indirectly analyzed photo- graphically. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis and analysis of variance. On the basis of the cluster analysis, using 7 factors cores the subjects were classified into four groups and four dress forms for middle-aged women were constructed. 8y the analysis of moire topography of proposed dress forms that were constructed according to the characteristics and silhouettes of front and lateral views for each somatotype of subjects, three-dimensional characteristics of somatotype and overlapped crosssection diagrams were analyzed.

A Study on Bodyshape Factor according to Age Group of Adult Women (성인 여성의 연령대별 신체 형태 구성 인자의 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study was to consider the bodyshape factor of adult women according to their age groups. Age groups were 20's, the first half of 30's, the last half of 30's, 40's, 50's. Factor analysis was performed and bodyshape factors were abstracted at sight of front and side line of the body. Results indicate that the bodyshape factors were different to each age groups, so, age is very important component to the change of body shape of adult women. A suggestion is when they make standard sizes of women's ready-made clothes, it is important to reflect thier characteristics of body shape according to each age groups and age can be a standard to classify the body types of adult women.

Characterizing for Age Group of Obese Women's Body Shape for Clothing Design (의복설계를 위한 비만 여성 체형의 연령층별 특징)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide fundamental data of characterizing for age group of obese women's body shape. The subjects were 132 obese women, age of 20~59. The criteria of obestity based on Vervaeck index ($\geq$92.3), Rohrer index ($\geq$ 1.6), and bust girth ($\geq$90 cm). Thirty eight measurement items were used for F-test. Forty two transformed variables (including 4 additional variables) were used for cluster analysis The results were as follows: 1. Characteristics for age group were described that 20's was narrow shoulder, flesh contoured shape in upper body. 30's was rounded upper back, 40's was the slightest fatty shape, and 50's was the fattest round shape among four age groups. 2. Four types of obese women's body shape were classified by cluster analysis. Body shape of type 1 was fatty abdomen, and rounded upper back in 50's mainly. Body shape of type 2 was slightly fatty. Body shape of type 3 was round shape. Body shape of type 4 was the smallest girth in the obese women in 40's mainly.
