Outcomes from an education program operation to manage agricultural NPS pollution at a typical rural village (농촌마을 주민의 농업 비점오염원 관리 역량강화 교육의 효과)

  • 최근 수질오염원 중에서 비점오염원의 영향 높아지고 있다. 특히, 농경활동에서 유래되는 비점오염원이 공공수역의 수질에 미치는 영향이 증가하고 있다. 농경지에서 배출되는 비점오염원은 관리대상 면적이 넓어 비점오염 배출을 저감하기 위해서는 사전예방적 차원에서 접근이 필요하다. 하지만, 비점오염원에 대한 농업인과 주민들의 인식 부족으로 인하여 관리에 많은 어려움이 있다. 근래에 농업 비점오염원 저감을 위한 노력으로 물리적 기술적 접근만이 아니라 사회 문화적 접근이 병행되어야 한다는 점이 강조되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 농업 비점오염원 관리를 위한 사회문화적인 접근 방법으로서 전형적인 한국의 농촌 마을에서 농업 비점오염원에 대한 인지도 향상과 자발적 저감활동 실천 참여를 유도하기 위하여 개발된 역량강화 교육프로그램이 교육 대상자인 농업인, 주민, 마을지도자의 인식변화에 미치는 효과를 살펴보았다. 역량강화 프로그램은 농업인과 지역주민, 마을리더의 인문사회적 특성을 고려하여 공통과정과 맞춤형 과정으로 구성하였다. 농업인은 농업비점오염 저감에 적용할 수 있는 시비관리와 배수 물고관리, 영농폐기물 관리, 친환경농업에 대한 내용으로 구성하였다. 마을주민은 고령화된 여성의 비율이 높은 것을 고려하여 분리수거, 쓰레기 문단투기 및 소각, 마을 미래상과 환경실천에 대해서 교육하였다. 마을리더에게는 공동체 활성화 리더쉽, 주체적 주민참여, 갈등관리에 대한 내용으로 구성하였다. 공통적으로는 비점오염원과 농업 비점오염원의 정의와 유형, 마을환경관리 실천활동, 친환경농업 선진지 견학으로 구성하였다. 교육프로그램은 2년 동안 진행되었으며 마을별로 방문하여 진행하였다. 농촌 마을에서 농업비점오염원 역량강화 교육 프로그램의 효과는 다음과 같다. 교육 전의 소극적 참여의사에서 적극적인 활동 참여로 발전하였으며, 비점오염원에 대한 인식 및 관리 필요성에 대한 인식이 개선되었다. 농업 비점오염원 보다는 일반적인 비점오염에 대한 인지효과가 높게 나타났다. 따라서 농촌지역에서 농업비점에 대한 인식 변화가 저감활동 실천으로까지 이루어지는 가시적 효과를 거두기 위해서는 장기간이 소요됨을 시사하였다.

Basic Research on Women Engineering Recognition by Using Triangulation Method (삼각측정법을 적용한 여성 공학도 인식에 관한 기초조사)

  • The purpose of this study is to research the women engineers' recognition with a triangulation method and make suggestions on desirable education in engineering. The research period is for about 4 months from December 15, 2007 to April 4, 2008. The objects of the research are two groups of female engineers at D college located in the metropolitan area - the first group had 187 women engineering majors, 3 women graduate students and 2 women professors in engineering department, and the second group had 5 women engineering majors who once stayed out of school temporarily, 4 women engineering graduates, and 5 graduates who are currently working. The second group is intently selected in order to look into the detailed factors that affect the recognition of women engineers. The methods of the research varied and included were surveys on the web, personal interviews, focus meetings, surveys by e-mail and telephone, etc. The results of the study show what the women engineers want in engineering education includes to have role models of women engineers who can cast a vision to them, get a leadership training especially for when they lead a group that has both man and woman members. It was also found that experincing a cooperative learning through diverse projects is essential to build basic character training and competency, and practical education is required for the major or becoming a full time worker.

The Gender Differences in the Effects of Work-Family Conflict on the Life Satisfaction and Job Attitudes (직장-가정간 갈등이 삶의 만족 및 직무 태도에 미치는 효과에 있어서의 성차: 우리나라 관리직 공무원들을 대상으로)

  • Based on the gender role perspective, this study explored the differential effects of work-family conflict(WFC) on the life satisfaction and job attitudes(job satisfaction and involvement) between men and women by analysing the data collected from about 240 married government officers including both sex. The results showed that both men and women had the higher level of WIF(work interfering family) than that of FIW(family interfering work), and that FIW of women was higher than that of men. The results also showed that WFC(WIF and FIW) had differential effects on the life satisfaction and job attitudes between men and women. Specifically, WFC of women had significant negative effect on the life satisfaction and the job involvement, However WFC of men had no significant effects on them.

A Study on Improving Information Literacy of Marriage Immigrants through the Analysis of Marriage Immigrants Gatekeepers (결혼이주여성 게이트키퍼 분석을 통한 이주여성의 정보리터러시 향상 방안)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the level of information literacy of the marriage immigrant gatekeepers in Korea. To do this, 51 gatekeepers who live in Busan and Gyeongnam Province were surveyed and the result was compared with the result of another study that was conducted regarding 189 ordinary marriage immigrants living in Busan and Gyeongnam Province in 2009 and used the same survey instrument. As a result, the level of information literacy of the gatekeepers was superior to that of the ordinary marriage immigrants. Also, 14 gatekeepers were interviewed to investigate how they had higher level of information literacy than that of ordinary marriage immigrants. Through analysis of the interviews, "information use environments of the mother country" didn't support their information literacy, but "higher education level", "Korean language skills and bilingual/multilingual abilities", "experiences of information literacy education", "information-friendly home environment", "positive attitude toward life and active social participation" and "active utilization of several information service providers and media" could be the backgrounds of higher information literacy of the marriage immigrant gatekeepers. At the end of this study, some suggestions are made for improving the information literacy of the ordinary marriage immigrants.

The Study on the Fashion Style of Female Celebrities in Seoul Fashion Week (서울 패션 위크에 나타난 여성 셀러브리티 패션 스타일에 관한 연구)

  • Celebrities form a dominant culture of one era and are cultivating influence to lead new fashion. Domestic women celebrities attending Seoul Fashion Week build their image as a fashion leader by exposing their own fashion aesthetics to the public. This promotes PR and sales of the brand of fashion designers in the collection. This study considers the fashion trends of women celebrities by analyzing the fashion style of women celebrities in Seoul Collection over the recent five years. The results of this study on contents analysis are as follows. First, straight silhouettes, achromatic colors, and an absence of a pattern or decoration comprised a high proportion. Celebrities preferred a modern and minimal style. Second, they preferred a feminine style that shows traditional feminine beauty through slim and princess silhouettes, one-piece dress or skirts, soft materials, and decorations with ruffles. In addition, as a matching jacket on one-piece dresses also appeared, it showed that celebrities attempted to change the chic feminine style with masculine beauty. Third, boxy silhouettes, multi-color mixed with colorful colors, graphic or lettering patterns, glittering materials and lots of details comprised a high proportion. This means celebrities pursue a maximal style that reveals their strong presence as fashion leaders.

  • This study is an empirical analysis of the characteristics of the organization and the performance of the company. The characteristics that make up the culture of a company's organization determine its success. Overcoming the company's closed cultural characteristics, entrepreneurial orientation, delegation, openness of organizational culture, and R&D capabilities have a positive impact on the company's performance. These characteristics of the company also play a positive role in embracing open innovation to generate innovative results. The characteristics of a company positively consider the acceptance and utilization of external resources. These variables proved that the nature of a company's organization is a factor in generating a company's performance. In this process, open innovation and the acceptance of external resources also proved to be a positive factor in generating corporate performance. The contents of this study provide an academic basis for the variables that build corporate organizational culture and provide a practical attitude to the role of leaders in managing corporate organizational culture. This study is focused on women's SMEs. n future research, the overall characteristics of the company will be considered. In addition, this study attempts to verify by applying various variables for generating performance of domestic SMEs by reflecting overcoming regional limitations.

A Study on Rural Women Leader's Action in Pattern and Doing in Style Based on Self Motivation Control (여성농업인 리더의 사고행동 패턴과 직무지향 특성에 관한 일 고찰)

  • According to shift of the political focus from agricultural productivity to social development, it has been increased importance of local leader in rural society. Especially rural women leader's role has been increased not only in agricultural business but also in social activity of locality. Although a lot of leadership study related to rural community development, it has been very scarcely study about leader's action in pattern or doing in style based on psychological scale. Therefore this a kind of pilot study on that. For this data, it was gathered from 24 female farmer leaders of a federation group in 2005. In this study, to define the action in pattern or doing in style of leader, it was adopted to Ozasz Yoshihisa's scale which is consisted of 40 items into 8 types. From analysis of female farmer leader's action in pattern or doing in style, most of them were belong to volunteer type, generalist type, farmer type. This menas most of them were head toward maintenance of the present status, keeping one's balance, adaptation oneself to new environment, or acceptance the logic of events, not trying to innovate. But it was not clear that any variable has a relation in the action in pattern or the doing in style, for definition of variables, it should be more detailed study.

  • Purpose: In this study, we will try to find out problems and improvements of the policies in order to verify whether the plans contribute to the health and welfare of the firefighters properly. Method: By the Delphi analysis by experts. Result: There are problems such as absence of Firefighters' hospital, insufficient mental health education program in fire department, lack of on-site risk assessment system, problem on ineffectiveness of mental and physical health care business, lack of substantiality on mental and physical stability program, absence of mental health education, ensuring the confidentiality for users of mental health programs, lack of support for parent firefighters, lack of firefighters' retirement design and insufficient treatment for female firefighters. Conclusion: There are Improvements such as establishing Firefighters' hospital, improving mental health education and training CISD leaders in the fire department, preparing disaster risk assessment system, effectiveness measurement for visiting psychological counseling projects, improving the program through customer satisfaction surveys, establishment of mental health education system, ensuring confidentiality by improving personnel systems, encourage childcare leave and introduce childcare facilities at fire stations, revitalizing retirement Firefighters and policy development for female firefighters.

A Pilot Study of Rural Women Leader's Psychological Trap for Getting Some Informations to Reinvent One's Life (여성농업인 리더의 생애경험을 통한 심리적 장애요인에 관한 소고)

  • This is a pilot study on rural women's psychological trap to define some obstacles to self directed learning. During few decades, according to major crop of each farm household has shifted from rice to other crops like as vegetables, fruits, horticultures, livestock, etc., women's role or labor sharing of women in farming has been also increased. Although women are important human resources, till now, there is no a research or an approach to rural woman on the view of individual human being. Therefore this study will contribute to understand woman's behavior or attitudes based on psychological description at each person's experiences. For this study, the data was collected from 23 women leaders who participated in a training course in 2005, through the scale of Jeffrey E. Young & Janet S. Klosko which was developed to improvement of one's repetitious behavior based on cognitive psychological care. It was categorized into 11types of psychological trap of one person, named as follows; (1) trap of being deserted by someone (2) trap of disbelief and being ill-treated (3) trap of weakness (4) trap of dependence (5) trap of emotional deprivation (6) trap of feelings of alienation among society (7) trap of deficiency (8) trap of anxiety to failure (9) trap of subordination (10) trap of the merciless standard by self-estimation (11) trap of the sense of privilege. From the data, the average age of subjects was 52.8years old, and the educational back of subjects was higher than general rural women. In both of the trap of weakness and the trap of the merciless standard by self-estimation, the ratio of over and 4 point score of 6 points was 71.4% and 76.2%. It means most of subjects have experienced fear of unexpected calamity(trap of weakness), and mental press hard for efforts to meet one's ideal standard(trap of the merciless standard by self-estimation). Especially the trap of the merciless standard by self-estimation may have relation with rural women's over burden from farming and local society activities.

Women Leaders: Gender Roles, Trust, and Effects on Organizational Performance in Educational Material Distribution Enterprises (여성 리더의 성 역할과 신뢰가 조직 유효성에 미치는 영향: 교육교재 유통기업을 대상으로)

  • Purpose - Since the early 1990s, it has been observed that the number and substance of studies on female leadership have been increasing. One of the reasons for this development may be concerned with the increasing number of female labor market participants as well as the greater opportunities for them to take higher positions in various organizations. In addition to this, the transition from mechanistic organizational structures that emphasize authority, control, and efficiency toward organic ones that focus on environmental adaptability, equality, and trust has also encouraged research on female leadership. The research tendency is based on the assumption that male and female leaders tend to exhibit different leadership styles according to their gender differences. Recent research has cast doubt on this assumption, by showing that the sociological gender roles of men and women are independent such that some female leaders show authoritative and control-oriented leadership, which were once considered to be male leadership styles. Research design, data, and methodology - This research attempts to carry out an empirical study on the gender-related leadership styles of female leaders and to examine their effect on group performance in the K business organization. This study also focuses on leader attributes such as trust, and it aims to discover whether these attributes should be regarded as independent or as moderating variables between leadership styles and performance. For these purposes, this study generated four hypotheses based on a review of the literature and it tested them using a survey. Female workers in the sales departments of the K Company, all of whom are women, were asked to provide answers to the presented questionnaires. This study hypothesizes that the type of gender roles played by women leaders will affect the job satisfaction and organizational commitment among the members of the sales group, and that the level of trust that is garnered by women leaders will also affect the types of gender roles that they play as well as employee job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Results - The results of this study show that both androgynous and masculine leadership styles are superior to the feminine leadership style in terms of employee job satisfaction and organizational commitment. However, contrary to our expectations, this study fails to show the superiority of the androgynous leadership style over the masculine leadership style. Moreover, there are no significant differences between these two leadership styles with regard to group performance. Conclusions - This study shows that it is important that different attributes of leaders, such as how trusted they are, be treated as moderating variables between leadership and performance rather than as independent variables. Finally, as this is the first attempt to view the role of the gender in a new perspective, the managerial implications of this study for leadership research, as well as its limitations, are presented. Suggestions for future related research are also proposed.
