Development and Evaluation of Parallel Beam Optic for X-ray (엑스선용 평행빔 광학소자 개발 및 평가)

  • An X-ray diffractometer which has various X-ray optics can give qualitative and quantitative information for a sample using a nondestructive analysis method. A parallel beam optic passes the parallel beam and removes divergent beam generated from an X-ray tube. The parallel beam optic used in the X-ray diffractometer was fabricated by wire cut and grading of stainless steel plates and was evaluated its performance using an X-ray imaging system. The measured parallelization of 6.6 mrad for the fabricated the parallel beam optic was a very close to the expected value of 6 mrad. An X-ray imaging technique for evaluating the parallel beam optics can estimate parallelization for each plate and can be used to other X-ray optics.

  • 탄소/탄소 복합체의 내산화 코팅을 위하여 산화티탄, 산화알루미늄, 산화이트륨 등을 포함하는 여러 가지 인산염계 유리를 제조하였다. 유리 산화물조성 몰비는 인산에 대하여 인산알루미늄을 15몰%, 30몰%, 45몰%로 하였고 산화티탄은 70몰%, 산화 이트륨은 25몰%이 되도록 코팅 액을 제조하였다. 제조 된 코팅액은 석영 도가니에서 열처리 하여 급냉 시켰으며, 급냉 시키고 다시 130$0^{\circ}C$, 1시간 동안 열처리하여 유리를 제조하였다. 제조된 유리의 열중량, 열팽창율, 열전도도를 분석하여 탄소 복합체와의 적합성을 조사하고, 내산화성 시험을 위해 탄소/탄소 복합체에 코팅액을 도포하여 산화 감량 비율을 측정하였다. 엑스선 회절분석기와 적외선 분광기를 통하여 인산염 유리의 구조분석을 실시하고 비커스 미세 경도 시험기를 이용하여 기계적 물성을 측정하였다.

  • 탄소-탄소 복합체는 고온에서 기계적 특성이 우수하여 항공기 브레이크와 같은 고온안정성, 강한 기계적 성질이 필요한 부분에서 활용되고 있다. 하지만 고온에서 심각한 산화현상을 보이는 단점 때문에 산화방지를 위한 표면 코팅이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 여러 가지의 표면 코팅막을 적용한 탄소-탄소 복합체의 고온산화안정성 특성평가를 실시하였다. 탄소-탄소 복합체 시편표면에 여러 가지 인산염계의 내산화코팅 용액을 도포하여 열처리 코팅하였다. 내산화 코팅막을 적용한 시편은 고온로에서 특별한 온도 프로그램으로 가열하면서 흐르는 공기중에서 산화시험을 행하였고, 산화속도를 측정평가 하였다. 또한, TG/DTA, 입도분석기, 엑스선 회절분석기(XRD), 주사전자현미경(SEM)을 이용하여 시편에 대한 특성평가를 실시하였다.

  • 산화비스무트는 리튬이온과의 반응에서 현재 상용화된 그래파이트보다 높은 이론용량을 가지고 있으나, 리튬이온과의 반응에서 비교적 큰 부피팽창 특성을 가져 리튬이차전지의 음극재로서 상용화가 어려운 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는, 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 양극산화법을 통해 충 방전시 부피팽창 변화가 매우 적은 타이타니아 나노튜브를 제조한 후, 그 위에 스프레이 방법으로 산화비스무트를 코팅하여 두 물질의 복함체를 만듦으로써 용량과 구조적 안정성을 향상시키는 방법을 소개한다. 음극재의 구조적 특성은 고분해능 주사전자현미경 (HR-SEM), 고분해능 엑스선 회절분석기(XRD)를 통해 조사하였으며, 전기화학 임피던스 분광법 (EIS), 순환전류법 (CV), 충 방전 싸이클 분석을 통해 리튬이차전지의 작동원리와 보다 향상된 성능을 규명하였다.

  • 현재 상용화된 Graphite 음극활물질의 경우 낮은 부피당, 무게당 용량을 가지며 이는 다양한 분야에 활용하는데 제약이 있다. $SiO_2$는 Si에 비해서는 낮은 용량이지만 metal oxide 계열 중 가장 높은 이론용량을 가지고 있으며, 리튬 이온과 반응 시 큰 부피팽창을 하며, 절연체로 전기전도도가 낮아 리튬이 차전지의 음극재로 상용화가 어려운 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 TEOS를 이용하여 탄소와 $SiO_2$를 동시에 $TiO_2$ microcone 구조에 코팅하여 3가지 물질의 복합체를 형성하여 용량을 증대시키고 구조적 안전성을 향상시키는 방법을 소개 한다. 음극재의 특성은 고분해능 주사전자현미경 (HR-SEM), 고분해능 엑스선 회절분석기 (XRD), 를 통해 조사하였으며, 순환전류법 (CV), 충 방전 싸이클 분석을 통해 리튬이차전지의 작동원리와 보다 향상된 성능을 규명하였다.

Fabrication and Properties of Au fine Particles Doped ZrO2 Thin Films by the Sol-gel Method (졸-겔법에 의한 Au 미립자 분산 ZrO2 박막의 제조와 특성)

  • Nanocomposite of Au doped ZrO$_2$ films was prepared, which could be used as non-linear optic materials, selective absorption and transmission films. After heat treatment of prepared thin film by dip-coating method, the characteristics were investigated by X-ray diffraction, UV-VIS Spectrometer, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Film thickness was about 150 nm, the Au particle size was 15~35 nm. The thin film had a smooth surface roughness about 1.06 nm. Nonlinearity optics was found that films showed absorption peak at 600~650 nm visible region by plasma resonance of Au metal particles.

Influences of the Composition on Spectroscopic Characteristics of AlxGa1-xN Thin Films (AlxGa1-xN 박막의 조성이 분광학적 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, $Al_xGa_{1-x}N$ films were grown on (0001) sapphire substrates by using metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). The crystallinity of the grown films was examined with X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns. The surfaces and the chemical properties of the $Al_xGa_{1-x}N$ films were investigated using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. The optical properties of the $Al_xGa_{1-x}N$ film were studied in a wide photon energy range between 2.0 ~ 8.7 eV by using spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) at room temperature. The data obtained by using SE were analyzed to find the critical points of the pseudodielectric function spectra, $<{\varepsilon}(E)>=<{\varepsilon}_1(E)>+i<{\varepsilon}_2(E)>$. In addition, the second derivative spectra, $d^2<{\varepsilon}(E)>/dE^2$, of the pseudodielectric function for the $Al_xGa_{1-x}N$ films were numerically calculated to determine the critical points (CPs), such as the $E_0$, $E_1$, and $E_2$ structure. For the four samples (x = 0.18, 0.21, 0.25, 0.29) between a composition of x = 0.18 and x = 0.29, changes in the critical points (blue-shifts) with increasing Al composition at 300 K for the $Al_xGa_{1-x}N$ film were observed via ellipsometric measurements for the first time.

The Effect of Crystallinity on the Photoluminescence of TiO2 Nanoparticles (결정성에 따른 TiO2 나노입자의 포토루미네선스 영향)

  • The Titanium oxide ($TiO_2$) is an attractive ceramic material which shows non-toxic, high refractive index, catalytic activity and biocompatibility, and can be fabricated at a low cost due to its high chemical stability and large anisotropy. $TiO_2$ nanoparticles have been prepared by sol-gel method. The pH of solution can affect the $TiO_2$ crystallinity during the formation of nanoparticles. The prepared nanoparticles were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence spectroscopy in order to investigate their structural and photoluminescence properties. Through these analysis, the size of $TiO_2$ nanoparticles were found to be smaller than 5 nm. As the crystallinity of the nanoparticles increased, the emission of PL in the 550 nm region increased. Therefore, luminescence characteristics can be improved by controlling the crystallinity of the $TiO_2$ nanoparticles.

Spectroscopic Identifications and Phase Equilibria of THF + 3-OH THF + CH4 Clathrate Hydrates (삼성분계 THF + 3-OH THF + CH4 크러스레이트 하이드레이트의 상평형 거동 해석 및 분광학적 분석)

  • In this study, the inclusion phenomena of tetrahydrofuran + 3-hydroxytetrahydrofuran + $CH_4$ clathrate hydrates were explored via thermodynamic and spectroscopic approaches. The phase equilibria of the double hydrates - THF + $CH_4$ and 3-OH THF + $CH_4$ clathrate hydrates - were determined by pressure-temperature trace during hydrate formation and dissociation, and the result revealed that the equilibrium pressures were shifted to lower pressure region compared to pure $CH_4$ hydrate. The powder X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that the double hydrates of THF + 3-OH THF formed structure II type clathrate hydrates with $CH_4$. The dispersive Raman spectra of the double clathrate hydrates also exhibited that $CH_4$ can be trapped in both $5^{12}6^4$ and $5^{12}$ cages whereas THF and 3-OH THF were encaged in $5^{12}6^4$ cage.

Hydration Characteristics of Liquid Red Mud Mixed Cement Paste Neutralized with Sulfuric Acid (황산으로 중화시킨 액상 레드머드를 혼입한 시멘트 페이스트의 수화특성)

  • In this study, Neutralized red mud(LRM+S) at a pH of 6-8 was prepared by adding sulfuric acid to liquefied red mud(LRM) at a pH of 10~12. After adding LRM and LRM+S to the cement paste, the hydration heat, compressive strength, and hydration products were examined. The observed accumulated hydration heat revealed that the calorific value of the cement paste with LRM was low and its and peak was delayed when compared with that of plain cement paste(referred to as Plain), whereas the calorific value of the cement paste with LRM+S was similar to that of Plain. At the age of 28 days, the compressive strength of the cement paste with 20% LRM was 55% of the strength of Plain. Using X-ray diffraction, it was determined that the cement paste with 20% LRM exhibited a Ca(OH)2 peak after 3 days, whereas the cement paste with 20% LRM+S and Plain exhibited a Ca(OH)2 peak after an hour. Thus, the strength degradation of cementitious materials was improved by adding neutralized red mud prepared by adjusting the pH of highly alkaline LRM with sulfuric acid.
