A Study on Factors Influencing the Use of Edunet by the Experience of Core Users (핵심 교사 사용자 경험을 통한 에듀넷 사용 영향 요인 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is finding factors affecting the teachers' use of Edunet and exploring the developmental direction of Edunet which is a web based comprehensive educational information service system. Based on the technology acceptance model and the results of the previous studies, five external and three internal factors influencing the use of Edunet were extracted. The participants were 100, the group of field-assistants who were expected core users in Edunet, and the response of questionnaire was gathered by online survey system. To analyze the collected data and the hypothesis, multiple regression was employed. The result indicated that "usefulness" and "trust" affected statically to both (a) the use and (b) the future-intention use of Edunet. "Fitness of instruction" and "ease of use" affected to (c) the usefulness of Edunet. (d) The ease of use of Edunet was affected by "self-efficiency", "contents quality" and "the system-performance" of Edunet.

A Study on the Actual State of Edunet Utilization by Elementary School Teachers (초등학교 교사의 에듀넷 활용에 관한 실태 연구)

  • The most widely-used typical information service of national education, EDUNET has members of 5.8million. But it has been not used in the fields of elementary school. There are short-comings in its usage by members of the elementary school teaching. We would like to find solutions by using a questionnaire to the teachers of elementary school in the Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do, which resolve the problems of the actual condition. Analytical results show that 93.1 percent of the teachers usually use private education information service and 5.3 percent use EDUNET service. The main reason why teachers discourage the use of EDUNET service is that it provides the inconvenience of searching data(29.4%) and insufficiency of good quality contents(25%). In order to revitalize using EDUNET service, EDUNET has to improve on the perceived cumbersome unhandy of searching tools and help teachers to use EDUNET service by offering information of high quality.

  • The purpose of this study is finding factors affecting the decision of Web-based learning system (Edunet) use and searching for ways to diffuse Edunet use. Based on the diffusion of innovations theory and the results of the previous studies about web-based instruction, seven predictors influencing the decision of Edunet use were extracted. Seven variables as the followings; (1) perceived attributes of innovation (Relative Advantage, Compatibility, Complexity) (2) Innovativeness (3) Self-efficacy (4) Subjective Norm (5) Support. The participants were 315, 5-6th grade elementary school students, and the questionnaire was 20-item with 7-point Likert scales. To analyze the collected data and test the hypothesis, binary logistic regression was employed. The result indicated that the fitness of regression model including seven decision factors was proved. In addition, two factors, subjective norm and support, were identified as the important decision factors of Edunet use.

  • 본 연구에서는 한국교육학술정보원의 교육 콘텐츠 관리 시스템인 에듀넷의 키워드 기반 콘텐츠 검색기능을 고도화하기 온톨로지를 활용한 검색 프레임워크를 설계, 구현하였다. 에듀넷의 키워드 기반 검색 시스템에서 사용하는 KEM(Korea Education Metadata)를 owl을 이용하여 온톨로지로 바인딩하였으며, 의미 기반 교육 콘텐츠 검색이 가능하도록 중학교 수학의 일부 영역을 도메인 온톨로지로 구축하였다. 구축한 온톨로지에 실제 에듀넷에서 사용하는 콘텐츠 정보를 이용하여 인스턴스를 생성하였다. 사용자의 쿼리를 입력할 수 있는 인터페이스와 쿼리를 처리하고 추론할 수 있는 추론엔진을 사용하여 본 연구의 검색 시스템을 구축하였다. 실험을 통하여 본 연구에서 구축한 시스템이 키워드 매칭을 통한 검색 보다 사용자에게 의미 있고 유용한 결과를 도출함을 보였다.

  • The Ministry of Education gives increasing weight to ICT-in education to produce creative and positive people in response to the demands of the 21st century's Information Age. The use of ICT in teaching-learning process aims largely to facilitate the creative thinking and diverse learning activities of students to help achieve learning objectives. The purpose of this study was to sort out what's available for teaching- learning activities from among Edunet contents for teacher and to assist teachers to have easier access to them, as ICT-in education gains in importance. And it's found that this attempt would serve to make Edunet more accessible even to teachers who are not acquainted with ICT, and learning effectiveness would be greater by integrating well- organized and well-selected ICT-in education into academic education. Furthermore, this would enable teachers to have better computer skills and teach students with more confidence.

  • This study investigated users' information seeking behaviors associated with their perceptions of uncertainty. For this study, the data was collected from an user group, who conducted information searches in the field of history, using the KERIS Edunet system and it was analyzed through the comparative analysis of the grounded theory. The results presented users' uncertainty in the following stages: the identification of information needs, the selection of an information system, the selection of search terms, the actual use of the system, and the evaluation of search results. Major implications pertain to the enhancement of the Edunet system and related services. The former includes the improvement of the retrieval mechanisms related to the search and display interfaces. The latter emphasizes the consideration of the origin of uncertainty in the process of the services. In other words, the study suggested to consider the inadequacy of the system functions, the insufficiency of search experiences and the lack of such abilities of particular users.

Analysis of Teacher's Needs on a Life-cycle System of the Educational Digital Contents through a Case Study of EDUNET (에듀넷 사례를 통한 교육용 디지털 콘텐츠 수명주기에 대한 교사 요구사항 분석)

  • This study aims to draw implications on a life-cycle system of digital contents through a case study about EDUNET in order to maintain the quality and efficiency of the service for educational digital contents in the primary and secondary education area. To achieve the objective, lead teachers in EDUNET service participated in requirements analysis about the life-cycle of the digital contents, for example, contents utilization periods, the periods for being updated, etc. From the results, it was found that a systematic life-cycle framework should be established to re-evaluate the contents in service and provide a quality of contents, responding to consistent changes for educational environments in teaching-learning and for educational topics/directions, or according to educational content's substance such as curriculum or extra-curriculum. This study contributes to suggesting needs to implement the systematic management of contents based on a life-cycle system by analyzing user's requirements in order to provide user-friendly service for the K-12 educational digital contents.

  • 1996년부터 국내 초 중등 교육포털 서비스로 운영 중인 에듀넷www.edunet.net은 2007년 말 기준으로 연회원 570만 명, 일일 사용자수 48만 명인 웹서비스 사이트로서, 총 85만건의 교육 콘텐츠를 무료로 서비스하고 있다. 회원 대다수가 교사, 학생, 학부모로 구성되어 있으며, 각 개인마다 필요로 하는 정보와 정보제공 형태에 대한 요구가 다르다. 이러한 고객의 다양한 기대와 요구를 충족하기 위해서는 일방향적으로 제공하는 형태의 기존 정보제공 방식에서 개인이 자유롭게 필요한 정보를 선택하여 개인화된 포털을 구성하고 이를 자유롭게 공유할 수 있는 형태로의 사용자 중심 오픈 서비스 패러다임 변화가 필요하다. 분산화의 대표적인 서비스인 위젯서비스의 국내외 사례분석을 통해 에듀넷 위젯활용 방안 및 서비스전략을 고찰하고자 한다.

User-based Relevance and Irrelevance Criteria during the Task Pursuing of Middle School Students (중학생 학습과제 수행을 위한 정보탐색과정에서 적합성 및 비적합성에 관한 연구 - 에듀넷 사이트를 중심으로 -)

  • Although a significant number of studies have been conducted in user-based relevance criteria, a need for further research still remains. The rational is associated with the following inadequacies: (1) research on young user groups, (2) research on the Web environment with multimedia resources, (3) research on the irrelevance criteria and implications to improve related systems and services. Accordingly, this study identified user - based relevance and irrelevance criteria, examining 40 middle school third grader students who use KERIS Edunet site. The results identified 16 relevance criteria and 8 irrelevance criteria. Major implications related to information system and service improvements.
