  • 어두운 밤에도 불편함 없이 생활할 수 있도록 도와주는 것은 인공 빛, '조명'이다. 그런데 대다수는 이 조명에 대해 별로 특별하게 생각하지 않는다. 사람의 편의를 위해 발명된 전화나 자동차처럼 조명도 그 중 하나라고 생각하기 때문이다. 한국조명연구원 공영식 원장은 조명을 '공기와 같은 것'이라고 표현했다. 생활에 필수적이지만 너무 당연해서 그 소중함을 인지하지 못한다는 것이다. 그는 빛, 조명의 소중함을 역설하며 빛은 차세대 에너지 산업에 아주 중요한 영향을 미친다고 거듭 강조했다. 한국조명연구원 공영식원장이 말하는 조명의 모든 것, 지금부터 들어보자.

Extended TAM Analysis of a Residential DR Pilot Program (확장된 기술수용모델을 이용한 가정용 에너지 수요반응 프로그램 실증분석)

  • While electricity demand is generally increasing, stably controlling supply is becoming a serious challenge because renewable energies are becoming popular and often their productions are dependent on the weather. The 'demand response' programs can be used to complement the problems of renewable energies, and therefore their role is becoming increasingly important. This study provides an analysis of a demand response pilot that was conducted in Korea. The study first focused on questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews, and the data was used to perform a Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) analysis. The goal of the pilot was to have the residential users reduce their power consumptions when an energy reduction mission is issued during peak load hours. The experimental subjects consisted of two groups with different characteristics. Subjects in group A obtained smart meters as an optional function of IoT platform service provided by a mobile service company, and received a charge deduction as their compensation. Subjects in group B either voluntarily purchased smart meters as individuals or received them by participating in an energy self-sufficient village program that was run by a local government, and were entitled to a donation as their compensation. With the analysis, group A was found to fit the extended technology acceptance model that includes perceived playfulness in addition to perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. On the contrary, group B failed to fit the model well, but perceived usefulness was found to be relatively more important compared to group A. The results indicate that the residential energy groups' behavior changes are dependent on each group's characteristics, and group-specific DR design should be considered to improve the effectiveness of DR.

A Convergence Study of the Effects of Eating Behaviors on Stress Recognition by Adolescent Gender (청소년의 성별에 따른 식생활 행태가 스트레스 인지에 미치는 영향에 대한 융합적 연구)

  • This study was conducted to identify the impact of adolescents' dietary behavior on their stress perception and provide basic data for education programs linked to customized nutrition education by gender. In this study, the 2019 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey was used, and a total of 57,303 middle·high school students were selected. Controlling adolescents' age, school record, economic status, residence type, subjective health and body type perception, and the dietary life variables designed with breakfast, fresh foods(fruit, vegetables, milk, water), processed foods(carbonate beverage, energy beverage, sweet beverage, fast food) were analyzed to have an effects on the stress recognition of adolescents. Breakfast had a negative(-) effect on stress perception in all genders of adolescents, and in the case of fresh food, water for boys and fruit for girls had the highest negative(-) effect on stress perception, and in the case of processed foods, energy drink was the dietary factor that had the highest positive(+) effect on adolescents' stress perception. These results suggest that it is necessary to develop a dietary education program tailored to the gender of adolescents to improve their stress perception, and to provide continuous guidance to form a healthy diet.

  • 본 논문은 human visual system(HVS)에 따른 주파수 민감도와 공간에서 다양한 특성들을 구현하기 위한 신호처리 방법을 개발하였다. 인간의 눈은 주파수 성분에 따라 민감도가 다르며 초점에서 멀수록 인지 가능한 해상도가 떨어진다. 주파수 민감도를 구현하기 위해서 본 논문은 영상 신호의 에너지 스펙트럼 모양이 contrast sensitivity function(CSF)의 모양이 되도록 하여 영상 신호의 에너지를 증가시켰으며 신호 방향에 적응적인 multiband energy scaling 방법을 개발하였다. 기존의 시스템에서 능률만을 향상시키는 기존의 분석 모델과 비교하면 개발한 방법은 HVS에 좀 더 적절하고 선호되게 영상 신호를 처리할 수 있다.

  • 최근 서버 관련 에너지 소비가 꾸준히 증가함에 따라 IT부문의 에너지 효율성을 높이기 위한 IT기술의 요구가 급증하고 있다. 이러한 요구에 따라 IT시스템 운용 시 사용자로 하여금 에너지 사용 상태를 정확히 인지 및 식별 가능하도록 함으로써 이를 토대로 에너지 제어를 통한 결과를 예상할 수 있도록 하며 에너지절감 유도까지 가능하게 하는 에너지 효율성 컴퓨팅 기술이 활발히 연구되고 있다. 향후에 엑사스케일 컴퓨터나 대규모 매니코어 컴퓨터 개발에 있어서 이러한 핵심기술은 선택이 아니라 필수 요소가 될 것이다.

  • 불연속선에 의해 생성된 기하학적 착시에서 특징 점들을 추출하는 시각 모델을 제안한다. 기하학적 착시는 선이나 원으로 구성된 것으로서 인간의 정보처리 경로를 통해 발생하는 인지현상중의 하나이다. 이러한 인지 현상은 외부 세계에 존재하는 동일한 강도의 물리적 에너지를 주변자극의 영향 때문에 실제와 다르게 해석하는 현상이다. 착시 그림들로부터 착시 윤곽을 이루는 특징 점을 추출하는 시각 모델을 제안한다. 제안된 인식 모델은 윤곽 추출, 시각 특징 추출, 시각특징 복원, 유도 자극 추출, 이미지 복원 및 이미지 연산 단계로 구성된다. 제안된 모델은 불연속적인 선에 의해 나타나는 착시 윤곽에서 특징 자극들을 추출한다.

Energy-aware Source Routing Protocol for Lifetime Maximization in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (이동 애드혹 네트워크에서 생존시간 최대화를 위한 에너지 인지 소스 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • In this paper, we propose an energy-aware source routing protocol for maximizing a network lifetime in mobile ad hoc network environments. The proposed routing protocol is based on the source routing and chooses a path that maximize the path lifetime, by considering both transmit/receive power consumption and residual battery power in the mobile nodes from the perspective of source-destination end-to-end. This paper proposes a new routing cost and designs a new routing protocol for minimizing the control packet overhead occurred during the route discovery. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has similar performances to the conventional routing schemes in terms of the number of transmission hops, transmission rate and total energy consumption, but achieves the performance improvement of 20 percent with respect to the lifetime.

  • Ultra-wideband (UWB) signal energy spreads over multiple correlator outputs due to rich multipaths, making the output of each correlator have only a small portion of the total energy. Thus, in the proposed two-stage UWB signal detection scheme for cognitive radio communication systems, the decision variable is formed by combining multiple correlator outputs, making it possible to collect the signal energy spread by the multipaths, Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can provide a gain of about 0.6 dB over the conventional schemes in various UWB channel environments.

  • In this paper, we propose energy harvesting apply to spectrum sensing. In this case, we can be spectrum sensing without consume energy. Algorithms of sensing and harvesting are determine active or idle of primary network, Compares with the threshold energy and the amount of energy that is harvested by energy harvesting scheme. If the secondary network want to send a message while the primary network is active, secondary users will change frequency to use the spectrum. Further, if the secondary network has not message, it will continues harvest energy. Therefore, spectrum sensing applied the energy harvesting method, energy of secondary network is remove waste and charge energy. So, efficiency and utilization of cognitive network can be increase.

Food and nutrient intake status of Korean elderly by degree of cognitive function (노인의 인지기능상태에 따른 식품과 영양소 섭취실태)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the relationship among cognitive function, nutrition screening initiative (NSI) score, and food intake status. Methods: A total of 409 subjects aged over 60 years were recruited from the Yongin dementia prevention and control center. Mini Mental State Examination Dementia Screening (MMSE-DS) method was used to assess the cognitive function of the subjects. Information on health related behaviors and food intake was collected by face to face interview using a structured questionnaire. The questionnaires included the NSI DETERMINE checklist, food intake sheets by 24 hr recall method and by semi-quantified food frequency questionnaire. Results: Subjects were divided into low cognitive or normal groups according to the MMSE-DS result. The prevalence of low cognitive function in the subjects was 25.7%. The low cognitive group exercised less and had higher nutritional health risk than the normal group. The low cognitive group had lower consumption of polyunsaturated fatty acid and higher tendency of thiamin, riboflavin, and iron deficiency. The low cognitive group had less frequency of eating mackerel, pepper, tangerine, and watermelon and higher frequency of eating white rice and cookies than the normal group. Conclusion: The results of this study imply that the cognitive function of elderly is related to exercise behavior, nutritional health risk, and food and nutrient intake status.
