  • In a centralized cooling plant, precise mechanical design and control strategy are required for peak and partial cooling load management. Otherwise, it will lead to low efficiency of cooling system and energy loss due to low partial load efficiency. The purpose of this paper is to enhance energy performance of the centralized cooling plant by controlling flow system in an industrial building using measured data and energy performance simulation program. The simulation results show that the proposed flow control can cut down annual electric power consumption by about 17% compared with the conventional cooling system.

  • In this study, a dynamic simulation model of a heavy-duty truck, equipped with a fuel cell power-train, has been developed and the dynamic behavior of the fuel cell stack has bee investigated using. Output change simulations were performed according to several drive cycle load change of a fuel cell truck. Mathworks' Simulink and Simscape program were used to develop the model. The model is comprised of fuel cell power train, power converter system and truck vehicle part. The vehicle runs at targeted speed of the truck, which is set as the load of the system. The dynamic behavior of the fuel cell stack according to the weight difference were analyzed, and based on this, the dynamic characteristics of the fuel cell output power and battery state with simple load was analyzed.

  • The purpose of this research is the study of characteristics of heat transfer in a heat pipe controlled by solenoid valve. A solenoid valve located to the adiabatic section between evaporator and condenser of heat pipe was used to control the valve action for effective energy transfer of the industrial exchanger machine. By the results presented in this study temperature difference between evaporator and condenser increases with increasing the temperature frequency and with decreasing the temperature amplitude. When inclination angle and flow rate of cooling water increases, the temperature amplitude is reached to the steady state rapidly with increasing the temperature frequncy.

  • Hydrogen has gained attention as an environmentally friendly energy source among various renewable options, however, its application in agriculture remains limited. This study aims to apply the hydrogen fuel cell triple heat-combining system, originally not designed for greenhouses, to greenhouses in order to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This system can produce heating, cooling, and electricity from hydrogen while recovering waste heat. To implement a hydrogen fuel cell triple heat-combining system in a greenhouse, it is crucial to evaluate the greenhouse's heating and cooling load. Accurate analysis of these loads requires considering factors such as greenhouse configuration, existing heating and cooling systems, and specific crop types being cultivated. Consequently, this study aimed to estimate the cooling and heating load using building energy simulation (BES). This study collected and analyzed meteorological data from 2012 to 2021 for semi-enclosed greenhouses cultivating tomatoes in Jeonju City. The covering material and framework were modeled based on the greenhouse design, and crop energy and soil energy were taken into account. To verify the effectiveness of the building energy simulation, we conducted analyses with and without crops, as well as static and dynamic energy analyses. Furthermore, we calculated the average maximum heating capacity of 449,578 kJ·h-1 and the average cooling capacity of 431,187 kJ·h-1 from the monthly maximum cooling and heating load analyses.

  • Reliable $H_2$ supply is necessary for entering a $H_2$ society. Among the various $H_2$ storage and transportation methods, liquid organic $H_2$ carrier (LOHC) is in the spotlight because of a lot of advantages compared to conventional one such as compressed $H_2$ and liquefied $H_2$. Therefore, we performed preliminary economic analysis of $H_2$ supply cost using LOHC for a $H_2$ production capacity of $300Nm^3\;h^{-1}$ employing itemized cost estimation and sensitivity analysis to evaluate economic viability of this technology in Korea.

  • In order to improve the safety of ship berthing and the efficiency of berth operation in the harbour, the berthing energy acting on a ship in berthing maneuver need to be estimated properly. The berthing energy is used as one of the criteria to determine the maximum permissible load q{ fender as well as important factors to establish the berthing speed and the required power of tug-boat for pilot and ship operator. Some problems of berthing energy are discussed on the basis of the hydrodynamic aspects. Then, series calculations of berthing energy are carried out considering the effect of water depth on added mass and the ship shape for container series from 1,600TEU to 12,000TEU.

  • The hole for the insertion of the pin in the shank is exist at ball joint connection of the space frame. It brings about the brittle fracture caused by stress concentration. Consequently it cannot expect the deformation performance or energy absorption performance from ball joint connection. In this study we developed a new connection details which will increase the plastic deformation performance at ball joint connection and can absorb the error in construction, which expect the plastic deformation performance at the reduced shank without brittle fracture at the screw of bolt and pin. Also it's capacity is verified by the performance in numerical analysis and test. We confirmed bolt's plastic deformantion performance through controled shank and pin's area.
