  • It is very important to investigate the behaviors of the material parameters governing PCI fuel failure during power ramp because PCI fuel failure is considered to be related to the operations limits of power reactors. In this study, the behavior characteristics of the material parameters such as hoop stress, hoop strain, ridge height, creep strain rate and strain energy in cladding were studied as a function of the operating parameters such as power shock and ramp rate. The FEMAXI-IV fuel rod performance analysis code was used for this study.

과학기술위성 3호용 홀방식 전기추력기의 개발 및 시험

  • 홀 추력기는 비교적 간단한 구조와 작은 크기 및 높은 연료효율로 미래 소형위성의 핵심기술로 주목 받고 있다. 이 연구실에서는 2010년 발사예정인 과학기술위성 3호에 탑재할 소형위성용 저 전력 홀 추력기를 연구 개발하였다. 성능에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 자기장 구조는 FEMM전산코드를 이용한 해석을 통해 설계되었으며, 제작된 프로토타입의 실험을 통해 자기장의 세기 및 모양, 양극전압 및 기체유량에 따른 성능 특성을 관찰하였다. 또한 Faraday Probe와 Retarding Potential Analyzer (RPA), 랑뮈어 탐침 등을 이용해 이온빔의 분사각도 및 전류밀도, 이온에너지 분포, 플라즈마 전위 등을 측정하고 관찰된 특성을 물리적으로 분석하였다. 이러한 최적화 과정을 통해 설계된 비행모델의 시험 결과 양극전력 200 W, 제논 연료유량 0.85 mg/s 을 통해 11.2 mN 추력, 1350 s 비추력, 37% 추력효율을 획득하여 개발목표를 상회하는 만족할만한 결과를 얻었다.

Energy-Aware Node Selection Scheme for Code Update Protocol (코드 업데이트 프로토콜에서 에너지 잔존량에 따른 노드선정 기법)

  • As wireless sensor network are being deployed in a wide variety of application areas, the number of sensor nodes in a sensor filed becomes larger and larger. In the past, ISP (In-System Programming) method have been generally used for code update but the large number of sensor nodes requires a new code update method called network reprogramming. There are many challenging issues for network reprogramming since it can make an impact on the network lifetime. In this paper, a new sender selection scheme for network reprogramming protocol is proposed to decrease energy consumption for code update by minimizing overlapped area between sender nodes and reducing data contention. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can reduce the amount of message traffic and the overall data transmission time.

  • The materials used for 3D printing are mainly plastic and metal. These materials are usually used in the powdered form. In order to improve the surface roughness of a manufactured product, these powders should consist of small uniform spherical particles. However, the powdered forms are sold at a considerably higher price than bulk or wired materials. When a wire-type material is used instead of a powder, we can supply a relatively large amount of the material at one time as well as reduce the cost. Moreover, the use of this form of the material will increase the process efficiency. This paper deals with the technology required to feed a wire material in front of the tool movement and discusses the examples used for the verification.

  • 스마트그리드는 기존의 전력망에 IT기술을 접목하여 기존 전력망의 노후화, 안정적인 전력 공급 등의 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 개발되었고 안정적인 전력 공급, 신재생에너지의 효율적 활용, 각 가정의 전력 구매/판매 가능 등의 장점을 갖고 있다. 하지만 폐쇄 망으로 운영되는 환경을 공개망으로 전환하기 때문에 소비자의 정보, 전력 사용량 등을 전송하는 통신과정에서 악성코드 유포, 해킹 등의 보안 위협에 노출될 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 스마트미터와 AMI 서버간의 안전한 통신을 할 수 있는 안전한 키 분배 기법을 제안한다.

  • For developing high performance fuel cell, peripheral devices and key components have to be studied in priority. In this study, centrifugal pump was studied for heat recovery. For PEM fuel cell system, a four-impeller centrifugal pump was designed, tested and compared with result of commercial product (IWAKI). In addition, effects of number of impeller were analyzed by CFD. The experiment and analysis were progressed in the same conditions. The results showed the quantitative difference under 30% between the numerical and the experimental pressure difference and mass flow rate.

  • It is important to search a pitch for vocoder. The major drawback to vocoders is their large computational requirements in searching a pitch and a codebook. In this paper, a simple method is proposed to improve the pitch searching process in the pitch filter almost without degradation of quality. The period of speech signal is emphasized by using Dual Pulse technique, the same type of autocorrelation method, in pitch search. Sometimes the incorrect pitch can be obtained by halving, doubling and trifling, To solve it, before searching a pitch, we estimate energy rate in a frame and compensate envelop of signal with it. By using the proposed algorithm in pitch search, its required computation are reduced and searching pitch is improved.

  • A numerical investigation was performed based on the Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) equations for the two-dimensional unsteady flow around a vertical axis turbine(VAT) with three or four blades. VAT is one of the promising devices for tidal current energy conversion. The geometry of the turbine blade was $NACA65_3$-018 airfoil, for which CFD analysis using Fluent was carried out at several angles of attack and the results were compared with the corresponding experimental data for validation and calibration. Then CFD simulations were carried out for the whole vertical axis turbine with a two-dimensional setup. The CFD simulation demonstrated the usefulness of the method to study the typical unsteady flows around VATs and the results showed that the optimum turbine efficiency could be achieved for carefully selected combinations of the number of blade and Tip-Speed Ratio(TSR).

An Analysis of U-233 Resonance Absorption

  • The low-lying resolved resonance structure of U-233 is investigated in terms of the Adler-Adler multilevel formalism. The resonance capture and fission cross sections of U-233 below 60 eV are calculated using Adlers' effective resonance parameters. The infinite dilution resonance integrals of U-233 are computed with the use of the Alders' parameters adjusted to fit the cross section data. It is found that the agreement of calculations with experiments is generally good over most of the energy region covered. A transformation of the Adlers' multilevel parameters into an equivalent set of the single level pseudoparameters is made for the use of the existing computer codes which are useful in the reactor calculations but do not have capability to use the multilevel parameters. The results of this transformation are presented in the form of a table.

  • The response function of ionization chambers are measured in the narrow radiation field Nominal photon energies are 4MV, 6MV and 15MV. the Radii of the chambers are 0.5cm~3.05cm and the field size is 0.2$\times$20$\textrm{cm}^2$. The measurements are taken in the water phantom at 10cm depth. The beam kernel (radiation distribution profile) for narrow radiation field in the phantom are obtained from Monte Carlo simulation (EGS4, Electron Gamma Shower 4). The beam kernel components in the measured chamber response function are deconvolved in order to get the ideal chamber response function of the $\delta$-shaped function radiation field. The chamber response functions have energy dependent tendency before deconvolution, while they show energy invariant properties, after the components of beam kernels are removed by deconvolution method.
