A maternity ward in a hospital in Seoul has an educational program for postpartal mothers since its opening, but evaluation on the program has not been done. This study was to find whether the educational program contributed to increase of knowledge and confidence of the post-partal mothers in the area of postpartal self-care and the newborn baby care or not. This study aimed at improvement of the educational program for posrpartal mothers and the newborn babies. Subjects were 40 primiparae who were admitted to the obstetric ward in a general hospitals in Seoul from August 20th to September 10th, 1995. Subjects were those who had no labor pain at the admission time, had no complications during labor and delivery, gave a birth to a healthy baby, and agreed to participate in this study. All subjects were well educated and were in well-to-do group. Most of them received antenatal care adequately. They were tested on knowledge and self-confidence in the area of postpartal self-care and infant care two times, one at the admission time and the other prior to discharge. After the first test, nurses in a maternity ward and nursery taught them on postpartal self-care and infant care. Education consisted of a 1 hour planned program and incident teachings done at bed side. Four tools were developed by authors based literature review. The test tool for knowledge of postpartal self-care consisted of 15 items which included the definition of postpartum, dangerous symptoms in postpartum, lochia, time to begin coitus, postpartum exercise, sitz-bath, and perineal care. The test tool for self-confidence in postpartal self-care included such items as emergency care on dangerous symptoms in postpartum, sexual life and contraception after postpartum, self-confidence in postpartum exercise and perineal care. The test tool for knowledge of newborn baby care consisted of 18 items which included bathing, umbilical cord care, vaccination, breast feeding, abnormal symptoms of neonate. The test tool for self confidence in the newborn baby care included umbilical cord care, vaccination, breast feeding, emergency care for baby. Analysis of demographic data were analyzed with calculation of percentage. Score differences between the first test and the second test were analyzed with paired t-test. SAS / PC (Release 6.04 for DOS) program are as follows. 1. Mothers' knowledge of postpartal self-care increased significantly after education (t=10.04, df=38, p=0.0001). 2. Mothers' self-confidence in postpartal self-care increased significantly after education (t=6.53, df=38, p=0.0001). 3. Mother's knowledge of the newborn abay care increased significantly after education (t=9.74, df=38, p=0.0001). 4. Mothers' self-confidence in the newborn baby care increased significantly after education(t=8.22, df=38, p=0.0001) Suggestions for further studies and nursing practice were as follows. 1. We suggest studies by randomized control-group pretest-posttest design or nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design will be done. 2. We suggest follow-up studies to find if mothers's confidence will last or not after discharge. 3. We suggest general hospitals to establish a phone-counseling system.

For solving these problems and for the desirable infant-rearing and education, the joint irlart rearing, whidl compensates for the life, education and furthermore the sdlool edJcation through the volur1ary participation, has been prepared altematively. Compared to the traditional rearing system, joint infant-rearing is not only operated by the residents with the dues paid by the union members but also makes children experience the life force of natu"e in themselves. So the preparation of the standard of the suitable environment design for the joint infant-rearing is required which is diffrent from the traditional standard of the environmertal facilities for the traditional rearing system. The concept of joint infant-rearing was defind in this study through the reference and the ooncept of infant edJcation which is in operation suocessfully in Italy and Sweden in order to understand how the ooncept of infant education has changed as the ages have dlanged. And the basic principals for the formation of physical envirorvnert and the spare design and the envirorYnertal oondition for the practical environmental design was also studied through the reference. And after study about the concept. figure and physical environmental suggestion, the concept, standard and element of joint infant-rearing environment design was suggested. And as the final conclusion, the design requirement of the envirorvnertal design for the joint infant-rearing was suggested.
The purpose of this study is to find influencing factors on attitude toward marriage of undergraduate with institutional care background. Intimate romantic relationship is one of developmental tasks of emerging adulthood. And attitude towards marriage is connected with intimate, romantic relationship. This study has focus on attitude towards marriage out of marriage issues. The method of this study is the survey on 214 undergraduates who have lived in institution for children over two years. The results of the findings are as follows. First, they are favorably inclined towards marriage. Second, gender, financial conditions, ego-identity exercise a significant effect on attitude towards marriage. Subcategory of ego-identity that affects attitude towards marriage the most is self-receptiveness. Implication and limitation of this study are discussed finally.
In this study, people with disabilities experience difficulties in their daily lives evaluate. To this end, eight people with disabilities in Seoul material by conducting consensual qualitative in-depth interviews (CQR) method of analysis. The findings in the three categories and therefore the region 14 to 48 depending on the frequency analysis. Psychology in everyday life of people with disabilities, lack of self-confidence and emotional experience difficulties, health problems, concerns, marriage (remarriage), and the opposite sex, family relationship difficulties, loneliness, worry about aging issues, respectively. Social and economic difficulties experienced difficulties in the relationship, livelihood issues, childbirth and parenting issues, work-life difficulties, trouble appeared when going out. Process to deal with these experiences of meeting the religious institutions, community system used, was used with the help of the people around. By the results of this study, people with disabilities in everyday life so that you can overcome difficulties that practical help and social services to the community through the ongoing support system was required to suggestions.

Dream Start Project purposes to provide equal opportunity for the child in the poverty. This project is conducted the last six years, there are voices of worry for the limit of the project performance. Therefore, this study aims to analyse the effectiveness of project and suggest activation plan of Dream Start from the viewpoint of users. This study use focus group interview to explore needs assessment for development of Dream Start Project. In conclusion, the project provides positive outcomes for children and their parents in terms of psychology, education and health etc. Children have increased their basic learning ability through the learning support. They have improved confidence and positiveness. The vaccine was as effective in health promotion. Dream Start had the effect of raising community consciousness. The relationship between children and their parents were smoothly through parent education. Free learning support has brought the economic effects. This project had the effect of improving welfare consciousness of the parents. This study presents the development plan of the business to reflect the users' assessment.
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of an empowerment program on maternal stress, anxiety, depression and parenting confidence. Methods: A total of 44 mothers of preterm infants were assigned into an experimental or a control group (n=22 each). The experimental group received the usual nursing care and 7 sessions of an empowerment program. The control group only received the usual care. The program was implemented from June to December, 2016 in the neonatal intensive care unit of K university-affiliated hospital in Daegu, Korea. The outcome variables measured were parental stress (PSS: NICU), anxiety (STAI), depression (CES-D) and parenting confidence. Data were analyzed using t-test or repeated measures ANOVA. Results: Scores for both parental stress (t=3.07 p=.004) and depression (F=3.76, p=.26) were significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group. However, there were no significant differences in anxiety between the groups (F=0.79, p=.505). Parenting confidence scores (F=9.05, p=.001) were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group. Conclusion: A maternal empowerment program can be an effective means of reducing parental stress and depression as well as enhancing parenting confidence, for mothers of preterm infants.
Health is an essential element of human living and participation in society. Due to its significance, government tries to maintain the healthy life of tis people by providing health care and enhancement systems that focus on health welfare. Despite such efforts, there is still a loophole in the public system. The health problem in socially disadvantaged people, especially single mothers, becomes the cause of poverty, and the poverty again results in the poor health conditions. That is why the private sector became interested in this health issue. In this case study about the participants in the healthcare support programs for single mothers in the private sector, their experience and change related on participation in the programs were investigated in depth. As results, the following significance and quantitative performance in supporting the health right for single mothers were explored. Since single mothers could not have cared for their health because their duty for not only parenting but also family's living, th participants thought that they attained good fortunes and their own social networks. Moreover, their life attitude changed to active and their family relationship was also improved as they got out of ambiguous anxiety of health and attained self confidence.

This investigation reviewed 74 studies related to pregnancy and childbirth of married immigrant women that were selected from national dissertations and others in journals released in the past 10 years from 2007 that were identified using http://www.riss.kr. Analysis on the trend of research was done through result variances used in academic fields, planning researches, main themes and mediative studies. Of the 74 studies, 28 were national dissertations (38.6%) and 46 were articles in academic journals (61.4%), 37 of which were performed by nursing departments (50.0%). Additionally, 45 were quantitative (60.8%) and 29 were qualitative (39.2%) and descriptive research, and 22 in total(29.9%) took the most of the part of quantitative research. Key concepts were categorized into nursing, environment, health, and humans, which are the paradigms of nursing, while papers in all other categories were categorized as etc. Most themes of research were based on social psychological aspects of the health domain and the human domain. Among the eight mediative research studies, seven focused on postnatal married immigrant women and the remaining one focused on postnatal married immigrant women and infants. In the categorized research planning quantitative research took larger part than qualitative research and in quantitative research descriptive study took larger part than experimental research. In the case of experimental research, studies usually focused on married immigrant women who had experienced pregnancy and childbirth. Overall, the results indicated that development and provision of new nursing mediation programs are needed, not only for married immigrant women, but also for their families.
This research was conducted in a phenomenological method to explore what the meaning for marriage migrant women to have college experience is. In other words, It is to find out what the motivation for them to enroll the college is and what the experience of studying in college implies. Also, figuring out how the expectation for life after the college experience is built up structurally is the purpose of the research. To ensure the qualitative warranty of the research, the participants are selected by "Sampling and Data Collection Strategy" suggested by Miles & Huberman (1994); and those selected participants are six marriage migrant women in urban-rural area with 10~18 years of residence period. The information for this research had been collected by in-depth and additional interviews along with observation towards these six participants. The result is the following. First, the motivation for them to enroll the college is; to realize of one's dream, to have confident parental model, to pursuit stabilized domestic economy, to have a professional occupation, and to make it as a mean of searching one's career path. Second, the experience of studying in college implies; enhancing communication ability, establishing self-image in the family and its relationship, having confident in raising children, enhancing healthy living of family, enhancing human relations, and lifelong learning person through set of learning. Third, the structure of how it build the future life is; having independent life pursuing stable living economically, living as a confident Korean by pursuing the value of learning and having a life of human being.
