농장탐방 - 요셉농장(산란계)

  • 처남, 처제, 조카, 사위들까지 모두 양계장을 운영하는 양계가족 요셉농장. 최근에는 7개월간의 공사로 새 단장을 해 말끔한 모습으로 다시 태어났다. 총 약 $5,911m^2$(약 1,788평), 5만수 규로로 현재 95%의 산란율을 기록하고 있다. 지난 20여 년간의 세월 속에 여러 역경을 딛고 다시 일어나 도전하는 오뚝이 정신으로 농장을 꾸려나가는 요셉농장 도은구 사장을 찾아가 농장운영방식과 산란계 산업에 대한 생각을 들어보았다.

  • 음속 기울기가 부(-)의 약한 상태와 강한상태에 있는 천해의 두 해역에서 단일주파수의 지향성 음원과 광대역 충격음원 두 종류에 의하여 측정을 하였다. 음파가 처음 해저에 부딪치는 가까운 거리에 서의 Reverberation 은 ray tracing 에 의하여 입사각에 따라 power spectrum analyzer에 의하여 분석 되었으며 원거리의 경우 이론 모델로 계산된 값과 비교되었다. 이 때의 산란은 지향성에 산란상수 -24dB였다. 또한 산란강도는 주파수의 증가에 따라 완만한 증가를 나타내었다.

산란계 봄철 사양관리

  • 대한양계협회 닭경제능력검정소에서 실시한 산란계경제능력검정결과를 보면 최근의 산란계 능력은 72주까지 산란지수가 267개로 나타나고 있다. 10년전이 77년 산란계 72주까지의 산란지수 227개에 비하면 18$\%$가 향상되었음을 보여준다. 성계생존율 또한 88.2$\%$에서 92.0$\%$로 약 4$\%$가 향상되었다. 대체적으로 10여년간에 걸쳐 산란계의 능력이 눈에 띌 만큼 향상되었다고 보는데 최근에 산란계 관리가 미흡하여 계군의 산란피크가 80$\%$를 넘기기 어려운 농장이 나타나고 있어 90년도를 향한 봄병아리의 입추시에는 보다 철저한 사양관리를 위한 준비해야 한다.

Ecological characteristics of the Firefly, Luciole lateralis (애반딧불이(Luciola lateralis)의 생태학적 특성)

  • The Luciola lateralis larva took 5.3 days from climbing on the land to the pupal cocoon formation. It took 6.6 days for a larva to eventually transform to a pupa after building a pupal cocoon. The size of pupal cocoon was 10.1 mm in length, 4.7 mm in width and its wall thickness was 1.3 mm. The mean pupal period was 10.5 days. The adult stayed 6.8 days in the pupal cocoon before escaping the cocoon. The peak adult emergence appeared around 9 p.m., and decreased after 10 p.m. The optimal soil temperature for emergence was $23.4^{\circ}C$. The female adult of the natural population (Nat-type) lived shorter, laid fewer eggs, and the oviposition frequency was fewer than that of the Lab-type individuals. However, a few individuals from the natural population laid 200-400 eggs. The less number of oviposition in the natural population may be due to the fact that the female adults might lay eggs before the collection for the experiment.

Effects of Taurine Supplementation on the Egg Production and Quality in Laying Hen (타우린 첨가가 산란계의 난 생산성 및 난질에 미치는 영향)

  • Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of taurine supplementation on the egg production and egg quality in laying hen. In experiment 1, 19-wk-old laying hens were allowed one of four taurine supplemented diets (0 (control), 0.4, 0.8, and 1.2% taurine) for 10 weeks. The mean egg weight was lower about 1.2g in the 0.8% diet compared to the control. Egg production rate, egg mass, and feed intake in layers fed with 0.4, 0.8, and 1.2% taurine supplemented diets decreased by 8%∼24%, 3%∼l4% and 11%∼l5%, respectively, relative to the control. However, the feed conversion, parameters of egg quality, and the concentration of triacylglycerol and the level of cholesterol in yolk were not different among the treatments. In experiment 2, 81-wk-old laying hens were allocated one of three taurine supplemented diets(0 (control), 1 and 2% taurine) for 6 weeks. The egg weight, egg production rate, egg mass, feed intake, feed conversion, parameters of egg quality, and level of yolk cholesterol were not different among the treatments, but the concentration of triacylglycerol in yolk was higher by 14%∼19% compared to the control. In conclusion, these results indicated that taurine supplementation in early laying stage of layers decreased hen performance.

Comparison of the Nymphal Development, Adult Longevity and Oviposition of the Bean Bug, Riptortus clavatus Thunberg (Hemiptera: Alydidae) in Fibrous Nylon and Glass-Tube (망사시험관과 유리시험관에서 톱다리개미허리노린재의 약충발육, 성충수명 및 산란 비교)

  • This study compared the biological characteristics, nymphal development, adult longevity, and oviposition of the bean bug, Riptortus clavatus Thunberg, in fibrous nylon and glass-tube in the insectary at $28{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ and 16L:8D of photoperiod. Nymphal duration in the fibrous nylon-tube was 1 day longer than in the glass tube; the difference was attributed to the developmental duration of the fifth instar. Percent emergence in the fibrous nylon-tube was $64\%,\;8\%$ higher than in the glass tube ($56\%$). In the fibrous nylon-tube, adult longevities for female and male were 4.1 times and 6.0 times higher than those in the glass tube. Preoviposition period was 1 day longer in the fibrous nylon-tube than that in the glass tube. The total number of eggs laid was 3.5 times more in the fibrous nylon-tube than in the glass tube. The oviposition duration lasted about 30 days for the bean bug in the fibrous nylon-tube and about 8 days for those in the glass. Accordingly, the fibrous nylon-tube was found more conducive than the glass tube for determining the biology of bean bug.

Comparison of Energy Metabolisms between Laying and Non- laying Hen (산란계와 비산란계의 에너지대사 비교 시험)

  • The energy metabolism with the normal laying hen and progesterone injected non-laying hen are compared. 1. The FHP of 109.7Kcal for laying hen was 25.5 percent higher than the 87.4 Kcal found for non-laying hen. 2. The MEm's of laying hen and non-laying hen were 149, and 135Kcal/Kg$\^$0.75/day and NAME's of the diets were 77 and 83 percent, respectively. For the laying hen shown negative retention in body energy during the experiment, the 77 percent NAME was the value of supporting egg production. For the non-laying hen shown the positive retention in body energy and zero egg production, the 83 percent NAME was of growth. 3. A change in body weight of 1g was comparable to 3.54 Kcal for laying hen, and 5.0 Kcal for non-laying hen, when calculated on regression equations between body weight change and body energy retention(BE). The figures indicate that the tissue energy is used with an efficiency of 70 percent for egg production. 4. Plasma level of triiodothyronine(T3) for the laying hen is appeared to be higher than that of non-laying hen, although the levels of thyroxine (T4) are equal both in laying and non-laying hen. 5. Activities of four hepatic enzymes(ATP citrate lyase, fructose diphosphate aldolase, isocitrate dehydrogenase and glutamte pyruvic transaminase) were significantly greater in the laying hen than in the non-laying hen.

  • LCD의 전력소모중 약 70%를 차지하는 부분이 백라이트 유닛이다. 전세계적으로 저전력, 고화질, 대면적의 LCD 디스플레이를 개발하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행중이다. 주로 백라이트 유닛을 구성하는 입사광학계와 도광체 및 프리즘 필름 등을 기존 제작공정 내에서 개선하는 것에 연구 개발의 초점이 맞추어져 있다. 본 연구는 기존의 개선 방법에서 벗어나 도광판의 형태와 산란입자의 크기에 따른 산란정도를 조절하여 기존의 도광판보다 더 나은 산란효율을 얻고자 한다. 이를 위해 투명도와 경도가 우수한 PMMA(polymethyl methacrylate)에 다양한 산란자를 투입하여 도광판을 제작한다. 도광판의 실제 제작 이전에 고효율 도광판속에서의 정확한 산란전산모사를 필수적으로 선행하여야 한다. 따라서 광산란 측정장치를 제작하여 산란자의 종류에 따른 원통형 도광체에서 측정한 산란강도와 산란전산모사에서의 결과를 비교 분석하여 저전력, 고화질, 대면적의 백라이트 유닛을 개발하기 위한 기초 자료로 사용하고자 한다. 농장탐방 - 에그콜(산란계)

  • 계란의 약 70% 가량이 유통상인에 의해 거래되고 있다. 농장마다 저난가와 할인폭으로 어려운 경제난 속에 산란계농장의 고통은 이루 말할 수 없는 처지이다. 또한, 타축종 축산물의 유통구조는 정부의 축산물 유통정책 지원에 힘입어 도축장(공판장), 축산물종합처리장(LPC), 대형도매시장 등의 정비가 상당히 개선되었지만 산란계산업은 여전히 불투명하고 낙후된 유통구조를 취하고 있어 농가와 유통인 사이 계란 거래시 농장이 매우 불리한 입장이다. 에그콜은 마트와 직거래 판매를 통해 어려운 형국을 조금이나마 헤쳐나가고 있다. 에그콜 홍명의 사장을 만나 농장 운영 방식과 산란계산업에 대한 생각을 들어보았다.

Distribution of Fish Eggs and Larvae in the Western Waters of Korea (한국 서해안의 어류 난추어 분포)

  • Fish eggs and larvae in the western waters of Korea are surveyed during the periods from February to August in 1982. Six species of eggs and forty-two species of larvae are occurred in the survey area. The dominant species occurred during the study periods are Ammodytes personatus, Enedrias sp., Engraulis japonica, Callionymus sp., Gobiidae, etc. Major spawning month and ground of each species are estimated from the data, i.e., occurrence month and abundance of eggs and larvae by survey month and area, as well as the optimum water temperature and salinity for spawning.
