  • With the growth of the Internet, multimedia streaming becomes an important means to deliver video contents over the Internet and the amount of the streaming multimedia contents is also getting increased. However, it becomes difficult to guarantee the quality of service in real-time over the IP network environment with instantaneously varying bandwidth. In this paper, we propose an optimal adaptation framework for streaming contents over the Internet in the sense that the perceptual quality of the multi-angie content with multiple visual objects is maximized given the constraints such as available bandwidth and transcoding cost. In the multi-angle video service framework, the user can select his/her preferred alternate views among the given multiple video streams captured at different view angles for a same event. This enhanced experience often entails streaming problems in real-time over the network, such as instantaneous bandwidth changes in the Internet. In order to cope with this problem, we assume that multi-angle video contents are encoded at different bitrates and the appropriate video streams are then selected or transcoded for delivery to meet such bandwidth constraints. For the user selective consumption of the various bitstreams in the multi-angle video service, the bitstream in each angle can be encoded in various bitrate, and the user can select a sub-bitrstream in the given bitrstreams or transcode the corresponding content in order to deliver the optimally adapted video contents to the instantaneously changing network condition. Therefore, we define the transcoding cost which means the time taken for transcoding the video stream and formulate a unified optimization framework which maximizes the perceptual quality of the multiple video objects in the given constraints such as the transcoding cost and the network bandwidth. Finally, we present plenty of the experimental results to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • In this study, prefabricated composite columns using high-strength angles (PSRC composite column) was studied. Concentric axial loading tests were performed for 2/3 scale PSRC specimens and an conventional SRC specimen with H-steel at the center of the cross-section. The test parameters were the steel ratio of angles and the spacing of lateral re-bars. The test results showed that by placing the angles at the corners of the cross-section for confinement with provided for the core concrete, the PSRC column specimens exhibited greater load-carrying capacity and deformation capacity than those of the conventional SRC column. The axial load-carrying capacity of the PSRC columns was greater than the prediction by KBC 2009. Using existing stress-strain relationship of confined concrete, the axial load-deformation relationship of the specimens were predicted. The numerical predictions correlated well with the test results in terms of initial stiffness, load-carrying capacity, and post-peak strength- and stiffness-degradations.

  • Fast advancement and dynamic diffusion of Smart device make big change to personal user. They have been extended from consumer only watching video to prosumer recording and sharing User Created Video(UCV). With this reason, as a platform for various kind of content service. Especially, UCVs for the purpose of sharing experience are recorded from same event on limited time and space by some people. These are also produced by various cameras that has each angle similar like broadcasting videos. In this paper, we present multi-view characteristic of UCV and propose Multi-view UCV service that is watching UCVs from same event through adjusting camera angle. Through user satisfaction survey, we knew that adjusting camera angle is preferred for watching UCV including overlapping part more than linear watching.

  • In recent years the development of high modulus, high strength and low density boron and graphite fibers bonded together has brought renewed interestes in structural elements. When a plate with arbitrarily oriented layers and clamped boundary conditions is subjected to uniform loading, it is difficult to analyze and apply, compared with isotropic and orthotropic cases. Therefore the numerical methods, such as finite difference method or finite element method, should be emloyed to analyse such problems. In this study the finite difference technique is used to formulate the bending analysis of symmetric composite laminated skew plates. When this technique is used to solve the problem, it is desirable to reduce the order of the derivatives in order to minimize the number of the pivotal points involved in each equation. The 4th order partial differential equations of laminated skew plates are converted to an equivalent three of 2nd order partial differential equations with three dependant variables.

  • In this research, analysis based on VR journalism outlet the New York Times' was carried out. The image analysis of was done through the frames of angle, shot (size, length, movement), and limited user-directed interaction (point, sound). The result of this is as follows. Firstly, the direction was done using a basis of normal and low angles. Secondly, it was able to be confirmed that the shooting was done in order by medium, full, and long shot. Thirdly, with regard to the length of the shot, most direction was done through long takes. Fourthly, most images came to consist of fixed shots. Lastly, this is limited user-directed interaction. This may be separated into 2 aspects: sound, and movement of the independent free agent. Through these, interaction was guided through free point of view concerning realistic situations to point of view guidance and users. This research may be referred to as foundational research for the further advancement of in-depth discussion pertaining to VR journalism.

  • There is risk of derailment due to various factors such as vehicle-track load imbalance in curved parts, so urban railways install and operate derailing prevent guard rails. The angle-type derailing prevent guard rail is composed of various parts including the guard angle. Even if derailment does not occur, various damages occur in the components, so continuous maintenance is required. Through the damage status analysis, the components of the angle-type derailing prevent guard rail with high damage frequency were classified, and conditions for the occurrence of various damages were investigated. In addition, a numerical analysis using a precise 3D numerical model was performed to analyze the cause of the damage analytically. In order to analytically simulate the derailment situation, the static ultimate load condition was applied, and the actual drawing of the angle-type derailing prevent guard rails, rails, and wheels was used for modeling. By analyzing the results of the damage status investigation and finite element analysis, we tried to investigate the damage of the components.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the variables affecting the effective stroke in the swing performed through 12 weeks of training for golf beginners, and to provide basic data on the effective stroke factors for the golf beginners to settle on the fairway. Twenty subjects were participate in the study (age: 21.35±1.69 yrs, height: 176.75±7.99 cm, weight: 70.70±9.76 kg). All subjects were subjected to a 12-week golf training, and trackman 4 was used in the 12th week to calculate variables affecting the effective stroke during a golf swing. Trackman data was divided into club-variables and ball-variables, and a binary logistic regression analysis was performed to find out the variables affecting effective strokes. In club-variables, high dynamic loft and low face angles were found in effective stroke, and in ball-variables, fast ball speed, large smash factor, high launch angle, and many spin rates were also found in effective stroke. As a result of the binary logistic regression analysis of club-variables, the probability of an effective stroke increased as the club speed and dynamic loft increased, and the probability of an effective stroke decreased as the face angle increased. The influence of effective stroke in the club-variables was in the order of dynamic loft, face angle, and club speed. In the ball-variable, the probability of an effective stroke increased when the lunch angle increased, and the probability of an effective stroke decreased as the lunch direction increased. As a condition to increase the probability of effective stroke based on the results, it is necessary to increase the club speed through high dynamic loft and low face angle during swing through continuous practice. Through this, the probability of effective stroke through increasing the launch angle and decreasing the launch direction will increase.

  • Affine transformation was used to analyze the bending, buckling and vibration behaviors of a thick antisymmetric angle-ply rectangular simply supported laminate. Introducing the generalized parameters, the comprehensive solutions are found. The generalized parameters are a generalized rigidity ratio ( $D^*1), a generalized Poisson's ratio (.epsilon.) and a principal rigidity ratio (.alpha.). Hence, the transverse deflection decreases, the uniaxial buckling load and the fundamental frequency increase with increasing $D^*1 and decreasing .alpha., but the effect of .epsilon. is negligible. With decreasing the thickness ratio, the results by the classical plate theory are more erroneous. The transverse deflection is minimum, the uniaxial buckling load and the fundamental frequency are maximum if the fiber angle is 45.deg., and number of plies is more than 4. The time and efforts can be saved to understand the behaviors of composite laminates because these results can be applied to another composite material easily.sily.
