Introduction to Visual Analytics Research (비주얼 애널리틱스 연구 소개)

  • As big data become more complex than ever, there has been a need for various techniques and approaches to better analyze and explore such big data. A research discipline of visual analytics has been proposed to help users' visual data analysis and decision-making. Since 2006 when the first symposium of visual analytics was held, the visual analytics research has become popular as the advanced technology in computer graphics, data mining, and human-computer interaction has been incorporated in visual analytics. In this work we introduce the visual analytics research by reviewing and surveying the papers published in IEEE VAST 2015 in terms of data and visualization techniques to help domestics researchers' understanding on visual analytics.

Recent Research Trends and Prospects of HR Analytics in Korea (HR 애널리틱스의 최근 연구 동향 및 향후 과제)

  • This study was conducted to understand research trends of HR Analytics (HRA) in Korea and to suggest future research directions. First, a comparative analysis was conducted by classifying six areas of recruitment on-board, work environment, performance evaluation, retention, and exit/retirement building on the employee life cycle framework. The results indicate that first, the distribution of detailed research topics in Korean HRA research has similar to that of international research. Second, Korean HRA studies related to employee training and development function are insufficient. Third, the scope and the method of machine learning are becoming enriched. Finally Korean HRA studies are still in the technical domain and toward entering the predictive analysis domain.

Treemapping Work-Sharing Relationships among Business Process Performers (트리맵을 이용한 비즈니스 프로세스 수행자간 업무공유 관계 시각화)

  • Recently, the importance of visual analytics has been recognized in the field of business intelligence. From the view of business intelligence, visual analytics aims for acquiring valuable insights for decision making by interactively visualizing a variety of business information. In this paper, we propose a treemap-based method for visualizing work-sharing relationships among business process performers. A work-sharing relationship is established between two performers who jointly participate in a specific activity of a business process and is an important factor for understanding organizational structures and behaviors in a process-centric organization. To this end, we design and implement a treemap-based visualization tool for representing work-sharing relationships as well as basic hierarchical information in business processes. Finally, we evaluate usefulness of the proposed visualization tool through an operational example using XPDL (XML Process Definition Language) process models.

Weblog Analysis of University Admissions Website using Google Analytics (구글 애널리틱스를 활용한 대학 입시 홈페이지 웹로그 분석)

  • With the rapid decline of the school-age population, the competition for admissions has increased and marketing through digital channels has become more important, so universities are investing more resources in online promotion and communication to recruit new students. This study uses Google Analytics, a web log analysis tool, to track the visitor behavior of a university admissions website and establish a digital marketing strategy based on it. The analysis period was set from July 1, 2023, when Google Analytics 4(GA4) was integrated, to January 10, 2024, when the college admissions process was completed. The analysis revealed interesting patterns such as geographical information based on visitors' access location, devices(operating systems) and browsers used by visitors, acquisition channels through visitors traffic, conversions on pages and screens that visitors engaged with and visitor flow. Based on this study, we expect universities to find ways to strengthen their admission promotion through digital marketing and effectively communicate with applicants to gain a competitive edge.

  • In this paper, for the evaluation of the ease of a particular Web site (www.appbelt.net), insert the log tracking code for Google Analytics in a page of the Web site to collect behavioral data of visitor and has studied the improvement measures for the problems of the Web site, after the evaluation of the overall quality of the Web site through the evaluation of Coolcheck. These findings set the target value of the company's priority (importance) companies want to influence the direction of the business judgment are set up correctly, and the user's needs and behavior will be appropriate for the service seems to help improvement.

  • 최근 IoT 기술발달로 인한 스마트폰 및 대용량 미디어기기 사용증가로 인터넷 네트워크 사용량이 폭발적으로 증가되고 있고, 이러한 데이터 사용량 급증으로 대량의 데이터를 지칭하는 빅데이터 수집 및 분석에 많은 기업과 정부가 주목하고 있다. 빅데이터는 기존에 없던 새로운 데이터의 구축이 아니며, 그동안 축적된 다방면의 방대한 데이터의 집합이라 할 수 있다. 빅데이터의 이용 및 분석에 대한 기업 정부 학계의 수요는 증가하고 있지만, 고난도의 빅데이터 분석을 위한 인프라 구축이 선결과제이어서, 이러한 인프라구축 비용 때문에 빅데이터 분석이 일선 산업분야에 바로 적용하는데 많은 장애요인이 되어 데이터 분석가들의 빅데이터 분석에 애로사항으로 존재하고 있다. 이러한 어려움을 해소하기 위한 방안으로 새로운 인프라 구축 없이 Google Analytics API를 연동한 R 프로그래밍의 데이터 시각화를 활용한 데이터 분석 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 구글 애널리틱스 API를 연동하여 사용자 웹사이트의 사용자접속, 사이트운영, 이벤트 발생 등의 데이터를 R 프로그램을 활용하여 사이트 현황을 데이터 시각화로 분석하고 운영중인 웹사이트에 적용 가능한 콘텐츠 개발 방안에 대해 연구하였다.

The Correlation between Social Media and the Behaviors of the Supreme Court in Korea (소셜미디어와 대법원 판결의 상관 관계에 대한 분석)

  • As a communication channel for individuals, social media is affecting various areas such as business, economy, politics, and society. One of the less-studied areas is the law. Therefore, this study collected various information from social media and analyzed its impacts on the legal decisions, especially the Supreme Court decisions in Korea. This study was conducted by compiling information from Internet news articles and public responses. We found that when the negative reactions from the public got higher, the trial duration until the supreme court making the final decisions became shorter. However, we were not able to find the significant relationship between social media reactions and dismissal of appeal nor annulment. Our study would contribute to the information systems and knowledge management research in a sense that the social analytics is applied to the area of legal decisions, instead of using conventional qualitative study methodology. Our study is also meaningful to the practitioners because that big data analytical business can be applied to the field of law by creating a new database for the emerging legal technology. Finally, law makers can think of a better way to standardize the legal decision process to minimize the reverse effects from social media.

  • Record Information Services is an aggressive action of connecting documentaries focusing on the information needs of user. However, recent studies on the parliament's written information service recognize the necessity that it should segment the user's information requests, and provide personalized service, but have not discussed for specific cases or measures. While the importance of Web services written with the proliferation of information and popularization of the Web is emerging right to know but, it is not being performed properly by lack of sufficient manpower and budget along with lack of recognition in hands-on sites upon the user analysis. So, while increasing the efficiency of the hands-on workers of Record Information Services, the introduction of analytical tools that can be utilized in low budget agencies is needed. Web analytics is to analyze the behavior by analyzing Web logs which web users have left you visit the site. To estimate the behavior they want to request information of the analyzed Web user aims to provide a Web service, the Web service further continued improvement. There are several types that include among them Google Analytics offering a variety of analysis items for free and all over the world, many people are already using. This study introduces a Google Analytics web analytics focused and proposes a service improvement plan with specific web user segmentation analyzes the cases of Korea Democracy Foundation of Open Archives introduces them to the actual institutions.

Smart City Mobility and Road Innovation: A Study of Complete Street Adoption and Consideration Factors using the Delphi Method (스마트시티 모빌리티와 도로혁신: 델파이 기법을 활용한 완전도로 도입 및 고려 요인에 관한 연구)

  • In the process of building the future of smart cities, innovation in mobility and road infrastructure is one of the most important topics. In particular, with the proliferation of autonomous vehicles and various types of mobility on the road, such as electric bicycles, electric kickboards, and electric wheels, roads have a variety of actors to accommodate, including traditional cars and pedestrians, and conflicts between them need to be resolved. Complete streets, a term coined in the United States in 2003, refers to the design and operation of roads that consider the equitable safety and convenience of all road users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, public transportation users, personal mobility (PM) users, and automobile drivers. Currently, many cities overseas are implementing complete streets, and research is being actively conducted to institutionalize them. However, there is a lack of research and discussion on complete streets in Korea. Therefore, this study aims to formalize the main factors to be considered in the design of complete streets by collecting and analyzing the opinions of academic and practitioner experts through the Delphi method. A total of three Delphi surveys were conducted, collecting free responses from experts through the first open-ended survey and organizing them into keywords to create the second and third closed-ended surveys. The second and third rounds of the survey consisted of a total of 52 questions, and 34 items out of 52 were selected as the final factors.

  • 본고에서는 스마트제조 기술의 일반 소개와 함께 핵심 기술 중 하나인 사이버물리시스템(Cyber Physical System, CPS)기술에 대해 알아본다. 스마트팩토리 CPPS(Cyber Physical Production System)는 IIoT기반으로 제조 현장 빅데이터를 수집하고, 이를 데이터 애널리틱스를 통해 실시간으로 분석, 현장과 동기화된 사이버모델을 구성, 활용하여 제조시스템의 효율적인 설계, 운영을 수행하는 체계이며, 이를 통해 주문 변경, 공정 이상, 설비 고장 등의 상황 변경에 자율적으로 인지, 판단, 대응할 수 있다.
