애완동물의 건강유지, 생산성향상, 질병유발 및 치유경과에 미치는 영양과 식이요법의 중요성은 최근 20여년동안에 수의술에 크게 증대되어왔다. 대부분의 애완동물가는 영양관리에 관하여 관행적인 먹이 급여 이외에는 어떤 전문지식을 가지고 있지 않다. 1988년에 퓨리나코리아가 애견용 고형사료를 생산한 이래 백화점의 식품코너에서 애완동물용 사료를 쉽게 접할 수 있게 되었다. 식품으로 급여되는 과잉 영양성 골격계이상과 뇨석증, taurin 결핍과 중심 망막퇴행성 변화및 확장성 심근증의 유발등 소위'nutritional disease',그리고 만성신부전증 치료관리에서 단백질과 인섭취의 제한 ,뇨석증과 간질환의 식이적 조절등은 대표적인 응용예로서 이미 소동물임상에서 일반화되었다. 그러나 우리나라의 경우는 애완동물의 먹이와 식이요법에 관한 전문지식을 학교교육에서 얻지 못함으로 애견가 관리에 많은 문제점이 노출되고 있다. 여기에서는 위와 같은 관점에서 개업수의사에게 필요한 일반지식을 기술하였다.

시골에서도 식용이 아닌 애완견을 키우는 가정이 늘고 있다. 더불어 애견사료를 구매하는 사람들도 늘어나고 있다. 애견을 키우고, 애견사료를 먹이는 것이 도시인들의 전유물인 것처럼 여겨지던 때도 있었지만, 어느새 애완산업은 그리고, 애완동물 문화는 시골 구석구석에까지 영향을 미치고 있다. 사람들이 먹다 남은 음식을 먹여 키워 복날이면 말없이 사라졌던 우리들의 '메리', '워리'는 이제 많지 않다. 기억하는가? 정을 듬뿍 주었던 '메리', '워리'가 복날 말없이 사라지고, 어째서인지 '메리', '워리'를 보며 입맛 다시던 아버지의 친구분이 부쩍 집에 자주 오시던 것을 기억해내고는 엉엉 울어보았던 일들을. 이제 이런 풍경도 흔치 않다. 대가족을 이끌고 사는 가족도 드물 뿐 더러, 애완동물을 키우는 사람들에게 개는 집지킴이 그 이상이 된지 오래다. 그만큼 애완동물의 건강의 가족의 건강못지않게 중요한 것이 되었고, 사료 역시 애완동물을 키우는 사람들에겐 꽤 비중 있는 부문이 되고 있다.

This study were to grasp the present situation of the pet wear market and the problem of pet wear, and to develop the pet wear pattern which agrees well to dog's shape and movements. We carried out survey research to analyze the actual pet wear market condition for a dog-lover, and movement analysis and sensory test to develop a pattern for Maltese which was the favorite dog among Korean. For data analysis, ANOVA with duncan test, T-test were conducted using SPSS statistic program(ver. 10.0). The results are as follows: 1. The results of the survey research, 75% of dog-lover had a pet wear and favorite was T-shirts. The problems of wearing T-shirts were 'too tight seam sleeve and bodice(front legs hole)', 'the clothes easily hang down' and 'easily taken off due to large neck size'. 2. The ease amount of the developed pattern was given according to the results of dog's shape and movement analysis, and the results of sensory test, there is a significant difference in the following items: depth of front neck line, front chest${\to}$abdomen curve, ease amount of sleeve, comfort level of leg parts. 3. The size of each parts of the developed pattern in this study were as follows : neck girth 27.0cm, body girth 40.0cm, back length 26.0cm, front leg girth 23.0cm, sleeve length 20.7cm, sleeve width 14.4cm. But, there exists some limits to generalize these results since dog's body size and shapes are various according to dog species. Therefore, further studies are needed to develop each pet wear pattern for each dog species.

오늘날 `인공수정`하면 소,돼지는 일반화된 방법이 된 지 오래다. 그런데 `개의 인공수정`하면 아직도 많은 수의사나 번식가들이 회의를 가지고 있다. 필자 역시 KCRC 울산 지회로 가입하기 전까지는 그런 부류에 속했다. 그러나 KCRC의 수차례의 Canine Reproduction(AL)에 대한 세미나와 실습을 통하여 냉동 정액을 이용하여 인공수정을 할 수 있구나 하는 생각을 가지게 되었고 필자가 인공수정의 전 과정을 스르로 해 본 결과 나름대로 확신을 가질 수 있게 되었다. 물론 다음의 한 예가 인공수정에 대한 의문을 모두 제거하리라는 기대는 무리가 있겠지만 최소한 개의 인공 수정에 대한 이해의 폭은 넓히리라 확신한다.

There have been studies about dog’s personality and behavior, which is helpful to breed dogs as guide or companion. In this study, a questionnaire was developed using 54 Jindo dogs, which considered ten items about aggressiveness and sociability. The scores were analyzed by principle component analysis (PCA), after accounting for four variables: age, gender, growing place, and coat-colors. Our results from the PCA indicated three principle components, which classified ‘aggressiveness’, ‘sociability’ and unknown factor. The four variables did not significantly affect aggressiveness(P>0.05). However, there was a relationship between coat-color and sociability, i.e., the Jindo dogs with fawn color were more sociable than the white ones(P<0.1).

Ten animal hospitals in Seoul were selected, and of which 41,305 practice in total for recent 1 year were analyzed based on international classification of disease(ICD) of WHO. Of the entire practice, prophylaxis cases accounted for 42.2%. Of the 9,376 cases of internal diseases, digestive system diseases accounted for 4,957 cases(52.9%), respiratory system diseases 1,776 cases(18.9%), circulatory system diseases 1,239 cases(13.2%), and neoplasms diseases 413 cases(4.4%), respectively. In the estate investment expenses, to be specific, rental guarantee deposit accounted for about 50% of the entire estate cost, foregift(48%), and monthly rent(2%). Dividing the income of animal hospitals into medical service, articles selling, and pet-dog beauty, medical service accounted for 71.6% of the entire sales, selling of articles 16.7%, and pet-dog beauty 11.6%. Publicity work for the animal hospital was done mostly through web sites on internet(47%), then through local advertising papers(23.5%), and through bulletins and telemarketing(11.8%). Manpower of the animal hospitals in this study was mostly composed of veterinarians(45.5%) up to about half of the entire staffs, while there was no veterinary technician who had specialized education in that area.

The study aims to grasp the perception and appraisal of urban park users through text analysis. This study used Google review data provided by Google Maps. Google Maps Review is an online review platform that provides information evaluating locations through social media and provides an understanding of locations from the perspective of general reviewers and regional guides who are registered as members of Google Maps. The study determined if the Google Maps Reviews were useful for extracting meaningful information about the user perceptions and appraisals for parks management plans. The study chose three urban parks in Seoul, South Korea; Seoul Forest, Boramae Park, and Olympic Park. Review data for each of these three parks were collected via web crawling using Python. Through text analysis, the keywords and network structure characteristics for each park were analyzed. The text was analyzed, as were park ratings, and the analysis compared the reviews of residents and foreign tourists. The common keywords found in the review comments for the three parks were "walking", "bicycle", "rest" and "picnic" for activities, "family", "child" and "dogs" for accompanying types, and "playground" and "walking trail" for park facilities. Looking at the characteristics of each park, Seoul Forest shows many outdoor activities based on nature, while the lack of parking spaces and congestion on weekends negatively impacted users. Boramae Park has the appearance of a city park, with various facilities providing numerous activities, but reviewers often cited the park's complexity and the negative aspects in terms of dog walking groups. At Olympic Park, large-scale complex facilities and cultural events were frequently mentioned, emphasizing its entertainment functions. Google Maps Review can function as useful data to identify parks' overall users' experiences and general feelings. Compared to data from other social media sites, Google Maps Review's data provides ratings and understanding factors, including user satisfaction and dissatisfaction.
