This study was conducted to provide a basis for planning Radiological technologists supply and career counseling of college students by investigating the distribution and status of Radiological technologists and expensive medical equipment increased trend in Korea. The data was collected from August to September 2014 through related associations and national agencies. Radiological technologists working in the domestic medical institutions in 2014 were confirmed as a trend that continues to increase over the previous year to a total 18,988 and 37.3 per 100,000 population but the increase number was less than the number of Radiological technician licensee annually. Distribution of expensive medical equipments is as follows: the total number of CT was 1,873 in 2014 decreased compared to the previous year, the total number of MRI and PET was 1,261 and 207 increased over the previous year but the increased width decreased. In the future a variety of jobs and quality improvement of Radiological technician will be needed with a steady workforce monitoring.

This study is to clarify the results of atrial septal defect(ASD) repair and mitral valve surgery through right anterolateral thoracotomy since 1989, and those of more generalized application of minimal invasive cardiac surgery since August 1997. We retrospectively analyzed the results of open heart surgery(OHS) through other than full sternotomy carried out until October 1997. There were 28 cases of OHS done through right anterolateral thoracotomy(17 cases of ASD, 4 cases of mitral valve repair, 6 cases of mitral valve replacement, and 1 redo mitral and tricuspid valve repalcement) which has demonstrated no surgical mortality or morbidity except only 1 case of reoperation for bleeding. During the period between August and October 1997, we performed near routine application of upper sternotomy or transverse sternotomy in aortic valve cases and routine application of minimal incision in cases with ASD and there was no evidence of early and late complications associated with this approach. We conclude that OHS with the use of minimal incisions is very safe, cosmetically excellent, and superior in terms of the amount of bleeding. The indication for minimal incision, therefore, should be extended afterwards.

A total of 172 cases of MVR using the St. Jude Medical valve was conducted in the period from August 1986 to May 1996. The hospital mortality rate was 3.5% (n=6) and the late mortality rate was 3.3% (n=5). According to the follow-up of 161 surviving patients, the average length of survival was 50.23$\pm$0.27 months. Three cases of prosthetic valve related complication deaths were identified. Two cases could be ascribed to left atrial thrombi and resulting cerebral infarction, and one case was prosthetic valve endocarditis. Two cases were caused by hemorrhagic complications that we presume to have been accompanied by anti-coagulation therapy. The actuarial survival rate of all cases at 10 years was 92.3%. We conclude that good clinical results and a low complication rate could be achieved through mitral valve replacement with the St. Jude Medical valve. We also conclude that mid-term and long-term follow-ups were instrumental and necessary.

1993년 Shannon 한계에 근접하는 우수한 성능을 가진 터보 부호가 발표된 이후 그에 대한 많은 연구들이 이루어져 왔지만, 한편으로는 반복 복호의 복잡도와 이로 인한 복호 지연을 고려할 때 실제 시스템에 적용이 가능할 것인가에 대한 의문 역시 함께 제기되어 왔다. 그러나 터보 부호를 구현하고자 하는 노력은 계속되었으며, 현재는 터보 부.복호기를 구현한 제품들이 시장에 등장한 상태이다. 특히 위성통신시스템에서의 적용을 위한 노력이 증가하고 있으며 곧 그 구현을 앞두고 있는 IMT-2000 시스템에서도 터보 부호는 일부 서비스에서 활용될 예정 등으로 앞으로 그 활용도는 급격히 늘어날 전망이다. 터보 부.복호기를 한 칩에 구현한 제품들도 이미 출시되어 있는 상태이다. 터보 부.복호기를 하드웨어로 구현한 제품들은 크게 길쌈 터보 부호를 사용한 것과 블록 터보 부호를 사용한 것으로 양분된다. 본 논문에서는 실제 상용 하드웨어로 구현되어 있는 터보 부호의 특징과 성능을 분석한 내용을 기술하고자 한다.

향후 10년 내에 전 세계적으로 인터넷 인구가 50억 명에 이르고 사물지능통신의 발달로 인해 인터넷에 접속되는 기기가 1,000억 대로 급증할 것으로 전망된다. 또한, video 콘텐츠를 비롯한 초대용량 서비스, 무선 인터넷 서비스 등이 활성화되고, 트래픽이 폭증할 것으로 예측된다. 그러나 60년대 후반에 만들어진 인터넷은 이러한 새로운 서비스의 등장 및 인터넷 트래픽의 폭증에 적절히 대응하기에는 많은 한계를 가지고 있다. 따라서 미국, EU, 일본 등 선진국들은 네트워크의 양적인 확충은 물론, 새로운 인터넷 기술을 개발하고 그 구조를 재설계하기 위해서 경쟁적으로 대대적인 투자를 전개하고 있다. 광가입자망은 이러한 급변하는 가입자망의 변화에 효과적으로 대처할 수 있는 기술로써, 인터넷 서비스 사업자와 가입자를 연결하는 중요한 네트워크이다. 본고에서는 대표적인 광가입자망 기술인 TDM-PON(Time Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Network) 및 WDM-PON(Wavelength Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Network)의 전반적인 기술 현황, 국제 표준화 동향 및 시장 동향에 대해 소개하고, 앞으로 미래를 대비하기 위해 필요한 광가입자망의 기술개발 방향에 대해 논하고자 한다.

Chicken has been being used as the protein sources for humans for long times. Since the release of chicken genome sequencing, large efforts have been carried out for identifying valuable genomic information in chicken including the genes affecting quantitative traits, development and immune responses. In this review, the recent progress of genomic researches has been discussed including the available world wide genetic materials in chicken.

국내 신약 1호를 기다리며, 현재 우리나라의 임상시험 현 주소와 앞으로 나아가야 할 방향에 관하여 한번쯤 검토하고, 어떻게 임상시험의 수준을 선진국 수준으로 끌어올릴 수 있는지 검토할 필요가 있다. 졔약 산업은 요즘 한창 주가를 높이고 있는 정보 통신 분야 만큼이나 고부가가치 산업이다. 때문에 정부의 주도하에 제약 기업 부설연구소 및 정부출연구소에서 의약품 개발과 관련한 연구 수행 과제 중 신약 개발 연구과제가 약 200여 가지나 되며, 이중 임상시험 단계가 10과제로 현재 임상시험이 진행되고 있다. 따라서 머지않아 이러한 노력에 대한 결실을 기대할 수 있을 것이다. 특히, 신약 개발은 인류의 건강, 복지와 밀접한 관련을 맺고 있으며, 기초 학문과 응용 분야의 접목이 필수적인 분야이다. 그러나, 하나의 신약을 개발하기 위해서는 평균 12년이라는 긴 세월의 개발 기간과 약 1,800억이라는 천문학적인 비용이 소요되기 때문에 쉽게 투자하지 못하는 산업이기도 하다. 때문에 잠시 한 걸음 옆에서 첨단 산업 분야로 신약 개발을 계속 추진하여야 할지 고민할 필요가 있다. 우리에게 이러한 자본, 인력, 시간이 충분치 않기 때문이다. 아마도 선진국으로 진입하기 위한 커다란 관문일지도 모른다. 하지만 포기할 수 없는 산업이기 때문에 어떻게 하면 우리의 목적을 달성할 수 있는지 그 방안을 모색하는 것이 현 상황에 대한 올바른 판단일 것이다.

건축물 외벽에 노출해 설치토록 유지해 온 국내 도시가스사업법 가스배관 설치기준의 개정 논의가 본격화됐다. 한국가스안전공사는 지난 해 12월 16일 서울지역본부에서 정책 기술자문위원 8명이 참석한 가운데 '건축물 가스배관 설치기준 개선 공동연구'에 대한 착수회의를 갖고 본격적인 개정작업에 돌입했다. 연구기간은 내년 2011년 10월까지 총 11개월이며 이 연구에는 한국가스안전공사, 한국가스학회, 한국건설생활환경시험연구원, (주)삼천리 등 4개 기관이 참여하여, 안전성 검증과 설치기준, 시공매뉴얼 등을 마련하게 된다. 한국가스안전공사의 '건축물 가스배관 설치기준 개선 공동연구' 추진은 그동안 대한설비건설협회 가스설비공사협의회(위원장 이효련)의 지속적인 건의사항으로, 이 연구가 마무리되면 앞으로 일본, 영국 등 선진국과 같이 가스배관의 건축물 내 매몰 시공이 가능해질 것으로 보인다.

디지털 의류는 디지털 기술이 의류에 자연스럽게 융합되면서 옷을 입은 사람뿐만 아니라 외부의 디지털 기기와도 자유로운 소통이 가능한 의류이다. 1990년 후반부터 유럽과 미국에서는 섬유기술에 IT 기술을 융합하는 연구가 계속되고 있으며, 직물부품 및 직물회로를 구현하여 의류에 적용한 바 있다. 초기 디지털 의류는 군복과 같은 특수용도로 개발되었으나 요즘에는 MP3 플레이어 내장 의류, 색깔이 변하는 의류, 헬스케어 의류 등 일상생활용도의 의류가 개발되는 추세이다. 디지털 의류는 신소재 산업, 센서 산업 등 기술 집약 산업의 활성화는 물론, 기존 전통 산업에 IT 기술을 접목함으로써 섬유, 패션, 의류산업의 확장과 활성화에 큰 역할을 할 것으로 전망된다. 앞으로 우리나라가 디지털 의류 시장을 선도하기 위해서는 섬유 IT 및 의류 IT융합 핵심기술의 확보가 시급하다. 본 고에서는 섬유 IT 융합분야의 이해를 높이고자 디지털 의류 기술 개발의 동향을 살펴보고 향후 기술발전 방향을 전망해 보고자 한다.

Recently we published new edition of 'child & Adolescent health record book' considering easy usability and introduction of new vaccines. This record book has essential and important contents for caring our children and adolescents. Currently many people use various vaccination record books with wrong and poor contents. We suggest the campaign that every pediatrician must give our well made record book to these people. This campaign can give their children an opportunity for proper vaccination and medical checkup. Ultimately through this campaign, the role and importance of pediatrician in the fields of vaccination and bring up children and adolescents will be recognized. We trust that the better record book can be made with continuous interest and active advice of all Korean Pediatric Society members about the contents and usability of this book.
