Effects of Moisture Content and CO2 Gas Injection on Physicochemical Properties of Extruded Soy Protein Isolate (수분함량과 CO2 가스 주입에 따른 분리대두단백 압출성형물의 이화학적 특성)

  • The objective of this study was to determine the effect of moisture contents (40, 50, 60%) and $CO_2$ gas injection (0 and 800 mL/min) on physicochemical properties of extruded soy protein isolate (SPI). The expansion ratio and the specific length increased, but piece density decreased with the increase in $CO_2$ gas injection from 0 to 800 mL/min at both 40 and 50% moisture contents. On the contrary, the expansion ratio and the specific length decreased, but piece density increased with the increase in $CO_2$ gas injection from 0 to 800 mL/min at 60% moisture content. Extruded SPI with $CO_2$ gas injection at 800 mL/min had small cell size and higher amount of cell than extruded SPI without $CO_2$ gas injection. The water holding capacity and nitrogen solubility index increased, and the integrity index and the texture decreased with the increase in $CO_2$ gas injection from 0 to 800 mL/min. In conclusion, extruded SPI with the $CO_2$ gas injection at 800 mL/min showed better expansion properties and cell formation than extruded SPI without the $CO_2$ gas injection.

Fabrication of $\textrm{MoSi}_2$ Heating Elements (이규화몰리브덴 고온발열체의 제조에 관한 연구)

  • 이규화몰리브덴 고온발열체의 제조공정을 개발하였다. 원료분말은 상용 MoSi$_{2}$분말이었으며 Bentonite, Si$_{3}$N$_{4}$, B, ThO$_{2}$를 각각 가소제와 첨가제로 사용하였다. 이들은 진공압출, 소결, 단자부 기계가공, U자형 성형, 용접 등의 과정을 거쳐 U자형 발열체로 제조되었다. 사용제품의 분석결과 최근 사용온도가 크게 증가된 것으로 알려진 190$0^{\circ}C$용 발열체는 다량(33wt%)의 W이 Mo을 치환하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 발열체의 전기비저항은 겉보기 밀도가 증가함에 따라 급격하게 감소하는 경향을 보였으며 첨가물들의 영향은 미미하였다. 1400-1$600^{\circ}C$에서 용접한 경우 용접면에서의 전기비저항은 비용접부보다 낮았으며 용접온도가 증사함에 따라 감소하였다. 발열시험결과 제조된 발열체는 표면온도가 1$700^{\circ}C$이하에서는 문제가 없었으며 175$0^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서는 원형의 융기가 표면에 발생하면서 급속하게 파괴되었다. 이 융기는 X-선 회절분석결과 SiO로 밝혀졌으며 따라서 발열체의 파괴는 MoSi$_{2}$/SiO$_{2}$계면에서의 Si(in MoSi$_{2}$) + SiO$_{2}$=2SiO(g)반응에 으해 일어나는 것으로 판단된다.

The Effect of Ni, Ce Addition and Extrusion Temperature on Al-Si Alloy (Al-Si 합금에 Ni, Ce 첨가 효과와 압출온도의 영향)

  • The effect of extrusion temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties were studied in He-gas atomized $Al_{81-(x+y)}Si_{19}Ni_xCe_y$ alloy powders and their extruded bars using SEM, tensile testing and thermal expansion testing. The extruded bar of $Al_{73}Si_{19}Ni_7Ce_1$ alloy consists of a mixed structure in which fine Si particles with a particle size below 20∼500nm and very fine $Al_3Ni,\;Al_3Ce$ compounds with a particle size below 200nm are homogeneously dispersed in Al martix with a grain size below 500nm. With increasing extrusion temperature, the microstructural scale was decreased. The ultimate tensile strength of the alloy bars has incresed with decreasing extrusion temperature from 500 to 35$0^{\circ}C$ and $Al_{73}Si_{19}Ni_7Ce_1$ alloy extreded at 35$0^{\circ}C$ shows a highest tensile strength of 810 MPa due to the fine namostructure. The addition of Ni and Ce decreased the coefficients of thermal expansion and the effects of extression temperature on the thermal expansion were not significant.

Low density polyethylene/nylon-6 reactive blend using corotating twin screw extruder (동방향 이축압출기를 이용한 저밀도폴리에틸렌/나일론-6 반응블렌드)

  • Reactive monomer, glycidyl methacrylate (GMA), was grafted onto low density polyethylene (LDPE) using peroxide and then reactive blend with nylon-6 was rallied out by corotating twin screw extruder. Grafting of GMA was identified using FT-IR. Graft ratio or GMA increased with reaction temperature, peroxide concentration and styrene comonomer concentration. It is observed that tensile elongation and tensile strength or LDPE-g-GMA/nylon-6 blend were higher than those of LDPE/nylon-6 blend. Morphology of blend was analyzed using SEM.

Effect of Extrusion Temperature on Mechanical Properties and High-cycle Fatigue Properties of Extruded AZ61 Alloy (AZ61 마그네슘 압출재의 압출 온도에 따른 기계적 특성 및 고주기 피로 특성)

  • In this study, a commercial AZ61 magnesium alloy is extruded at 300 ℃ and 400 ℃ and the microstructures, mechanical properties, and high-cycle fatigue properties of the extruded materials are investigated. Both extruded materials have a fully recrystallized microstructure with no Mg17Al12 precipitates. The average grain size and maximum basal texture intensity of the extruded material increase with increasing extrusion temperature. The material extruded at 400 ℃ (AZ61-400) has higher tensile yield strength and lower compressive yield strength than the material extruded at 300 ℃ (AZ61-300) because of the stronger basal texture of the former. Because of coarser grain size, the tensile elongation of AZ61-400 is lower than that of AZ61-300. Despite the differences in microstructures and tensile/compressive properties, the two extruded materials have the same fatigue strength of 110 MPa. This is because the finer grain size of AZ61-300 causes an increase in fatigue strength, but its weaker texture causes a decrease in fatigue strength. In both extruded materials, fatigue cracks initiate at the surface of fatigue specimens at all stress amplitudes tested.

  • 금속을 반고상 상태에서 성형하기 위하여 미세조직학적 거동을 밝히기 위해, 본 연 구에서는 높은 비강도, 내마모성을 가진 과공정 Al-Si 합금을 반응고 가공하였을 때의 미세 조직과 상온 가공 후 반고상 온도로 일정시간 유지하였을 때의 미세조직을 관찰하였다. 일 반주조시의 개량 원소 P과 Sr을 첨가하였으며 쐐기형 주조재, 압연재, Si 입자강화 Alrl 복 합재료를 반고상 상태로 가열한 미세조직을 관찰하여 초정 Si입자의 형상 변화를 관찰하였 다. 반응고 교반시 초기에는 P과 Sr의 첨가에 의해 초정 Si입자가 미세화 되었으나 교반이 지속되어 가면서 이러한 경향은 감소하였으며 구상에 가까운 형태로 변화 하였는데, 이는 교반이 지속되면서 첨가 원소의 효과보다 교반 자체의 미세조직 변화 기구에의 의존도가 높 아지기 때문인 것으로 사료된다. 냉각속도를 달리한 쐐기 형상에서의 금형에서 주조된 미세 조직을 관찰한 결과 냉각속도가 느릴 때에만 첨가원소의 영향이 나타났으며, 반고상 온도 유지 후 초정 크기에는 큰 변화가 없었으나 $\alpha$-halo가 형성되고 미세한 Si입자가 생성되었 다. 이는 입자 크기의 성장에 따른 주위의 농도구배로 인해 생성된 것으로 사료된다. 압연시 첨가원소는 핵생성과 재결정을 촉진시켜 초정 Si의 크기를 크게 감소시켰다. 반용융 처리시 초정 Si입자는 약간 성장하였으며, $\alpha$-halo도 생성되었다. 압출한 시료를 반용융 처리한 경 우 Si입자의 형상 변화는 거의 없었으며, Si입자에 형성되어 있던 산화막이 기지와 초정 Si 압자간의 확산장벽으로 작용하여 $\alpha$-halo가 거의 생성되지 않았다. 반응고 교반시 미세조직 변화 기구로는 취성파괴, 합체, 마모를 제안하였으며, 각 공정에서의 초정 Si결정의 크기를 비교하였을 때 45$\mu\textrm{m}$ 이하의 분말을 섞어 압출하였을 때 가장 작은 초정 Si입자 크기를 얻음 을 볼 수 있었다.

  • When using the FDM to create a 3D object, a thermoplastic filament is heated to its melting point and then extruded layer by layer. Although the FDM printing process has many advantages, its accuracy, and surface finish are not satisfactory. In recent years, much research has been devoted to improving the accuracy of the FDM printing process. The temperature difference between the nozzle and the interior of the chamber of a 3D printer is one of the important parameters affecting the printing process. In this study, we propose a methodology to reduce this temperature difference through design improvement. In addition, we elucidate how this design improvement affects product quality. The FDM printing process is conventionally carried out in a closed chamber. However, in this study, an open heating system is used to reduce the temperature. The FDM printing processes were simulated using FEM analysis.

The Effects of Screw Speeds and Moisture Contents on Soy Protein under Texturization Using a Single-screw Extruder (압출성형기의 스크류 회전속도와 원료수분함량이 대두단백질의 조직화에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of screw speeds and moisture contents on the physical properties of texturized extrudate from isolated soy protein were examined by using a single-screw extruder. The screw speeds and moisture contents tested were in the range of 122-334 rpm and 20-35%, respectively, and die temperature were $90-145^{\circ}C$. The texturization characteristics such as nitrogen solubility index, integrity index, chewiness, density, rehydration ratio, and lightness after rehydration were appeared to be influenced by screw speed and moisture content. As the screw speed increased and moisture content decreased, die temperature, nitrogen solubility index, integrity index, lightness before and after rehydration were increased, while chewiness, density, water content of final extrudate wee decreased. The rehydration rate was changed drastically at the feed moisture content of 30% in particular. As the moisture content decreased, the air cell size became large and its number was increased. The effects of interaction between screw speed and moisture content of raw materials on the extrudate characteristics were tested by the analysis of variance.

The Study on the Properties of Polypropylene/Nylon6 with Various Compatibilizers (Polypropylene/Nylon6 블렌드에서 이종의 상용화제에 따른 물성연구)

  • The changes of properties were studied for the polypropylene(PP)/Nylon6 blends containing different kinds of compatibilizer made by either reactive extrusion of solution reaction. The compatibilizers were PP grafted with maleic anhydride (MAH) made by reactive extrusion and solution reaction. The grafted MAH contents were 0.3 wt %, and 2.7 wt %, respectively. The composition of the PP/nylon6 blend was fixed at 75/25 by weight. Blending was carried out with twin-screw extruder (L/D=30, ${\psi}=30$) at 300 rpm. As the content of PP-g-MAH was increased, the crystallization peak of Nylon6 decreased gradually then finally disappeared. Disappearance of crystallization peak of Nylon6 was mostly affected by grafted MAH content rather than the preparation method and the amount of compatibilizer. The portion of Nylon6 that could not crystallize in its normal crystallization temperature crystallized together with PP at the crystallization temperature of PP. So called concurrent crystallization was observed. Meanwhile two more peaks were observed during heating cycle. One was exothermic peak at $193^{\circ}C$ near to crystallization temperature of Nylon6, the other was endothermic peak at $215^{\circ}C$ that was $5^{\circ}C$ lower than normal endothermic peak of Nylon6. To analyze the peaks, nylon6 was annealed in the differential scanning calorimeter. As a result, the peak at $193^{\circ}C$ was crystallization peak of imperfect crystalline of Nylon6 and the other peak at $215^{\circ}C$ was melting peak of imperfect crystalline of nylon6.

Effects of Gate Size on Ceramic Injection Molding (세라믹 사출성형에 대한 게이트 크기의 영향)

  • 세라믹 재료들을 성공적으로 사출성형하기 위한 적절한 사출조건을 얻기 위하여 그 동안 많은 실험을 하여 왔으나 게이트 크기가 미치는 영향에 대한 연구는 미진하였다. 본 연구에선 압출기를 사용하여 미세한 질화규소분말과 결합제시스템을 혼합하였으며 이러한 세라믹혼합물을 이용하여 사출압력, 보압시간, 보압, 배럴온도, 게이트의 형태와 크기 등을 변화시키면서 사출성형 실험을 수행하였다. 55%의 세라믹혼합물을 사출실험한 결과 적절한 게이트의 크기와 형태를 선택하고 105 MPa의 사출압력과 10초의 보압시간, 24$0^{\circ}C$의 배럴온 도와 같은 사출조건하에서 성형한다면 불완전 충전 체적수축과 젯팅현상을 최소화시킬수 있 어 성공적으로 인장시편과 굽힘시편을 성형할 수 있음을 알수있었다. 상용프로그램인 C-MOLD를 이용하여 사출조건과 게이트의 크기를 변화시키면서 혼합물의 유동특성을 해석 하였다. 유동해석 결과. 세라믹혼합물은 순수고분자보다 열전도도가 크고 비열이 작아서 고 화가 빨리 되므로 게이트의 크기는 사출압력, 배럴온도와 같은 사출조건과 더불어 중요한 사풀변수임을 예측할 수 있었다.
