Implementation of the automatic pulse-power diagnostic system and the discrimination algorithm of four constitutions (사상 체질 판별 알고리즘과 자동 맥진 시스템의 구현)

  • This paper is the study for the automatic pulse-power diagnostic system to discriminate the four constitutions with the piezo-sensor module and digital signal processing hardware attached on the patient arm-neck and the statistical decision software instead of the fingers and intelligence of a traditional korean doctor. This system can be used as a important medical equipment because this automatically diagnostic system has shown the excellent performance of the 65∼76% correctness against the 50∼66% correctness which the general korean doctors with knowledge and experiences have shown. Additionally, this paper has discussed the excellent characteristics of the automatic discrimination algorithm of the four constitutions.

Compensations of Polarization Mode Dispersion and Thermal Drift in Optical Coherence Tomography with PZT Optical Delay Lines (광간섭 단층촬영(OCT)용 PZT 광경로 지연기에서의 편광모드 분산 및 열요동 보상)

  • We have fabricated and characterized optical delay lines for optical coherence tomography, which is composed of cylindrical PZT(piezoelectric transducer) and single mode optical fiber. The polarization mode dispersion from the optical delay lines was compensated by the polarization controllers. By applying the duplex optical delay line, we minimized the thermal drift due to optical delay lines and obtained the scan range of 2 times that of a single optical delay line. The OCT system showed resolution of $18.6\pm0.5{\mu}m$, scanning range of 1.68mm, and scanning speed of 360.4mm/s.

  • In this paper, the functional propertied of vibrotactile sense of skin were studied by means of psycophysical experiments with respect to frequency and waveform of mechanical vibration, two-point threshold, contactor size of stimulators. Furthermore, leased on the experimental result, a small vibrotactile stimulator made of piezoelectrc ireed vibrator array was proposed for a aid blind to recognition of the Korean letters. A tactile output image is presented by an 8 row$\times$1 column array of samall vibrator reeds with 200 Hz rectangular wave, the array fitting on a fore-finger. Under the control of the NOVA mini-computer, the bimorph reeds array could represent any of one of the 24 characters of the Korean vowel and consonant at the 8 positions from left to right on the array. Without learning effect, the identification test of the Korean characters by the designed experimental system was carried out. The average rate of correct response was 90%.

  • Acoustic emission (AE) signal from an HTS tape has a low signal to noise ratio, due to the large amount of noise caused by the boiling of the liquid cryogen or mechanical vibration from the cryo-cooler. In an attempt to improve the sensitivity of the AE sensor, $Pb(Zr_{0.54}Ti_{0.46})O_3$ + 0.2 wt% $Cr_2O_3$ + 1.0 wt.% $Nb_2O_5$ ceramics sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ was synthesized. In addition, the resonance ($f_r$) and anti-resonance frequencies ($f_a$) were measured using the specimens with various thicknesses (1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 mm). According to the test results, large AE signals with high frequencies were obtained from the AE sensor fabricated using a piezoelectric disc with a thinner thickness.

  • This paper reviews a study about sound reflection control using an active sound absorber. An active sound absorber includes sound transmitting and receiving piezocomposite sensor layers molded by water tight epoxy, and connected with a feedback controller. The multi-layer sensors and the controller consists a closed feedback loop, whose intrinsic characteristics shows excellent impedance matching performance within specified frequency band, and consequently, minimizes reflection waves. Multilayer sound transmission model is derived based on one dimensional model, and its performance is verified with experiment using a pulse tube setup.

Swelling Behavior and Hydration Number of Langmuir-Blodgett Films of Metal-Palmitate Deposited on a Piezoelectric Quartz Crystal Plate (압전수정결정판 위에 적층된 금속-Palmitate Langmuir-Blodgett 막의 팽창거동 및 수화수)

  • Monolayers of calcium palmitate were deposited on a piezoelectric quartz crystal plate by the Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique, and it was found from frequency changes of the quartz crystal deposited LB films. The usual carbonyl absorbance at 1704 cm$^{-1}C$ was replaced by the split band in the 1540~1590 cm$^{-1}C$. The two absorptions at 1580 cm$^{-1}C$ and 1540 cm$^{-1}C$ were assigned to the antisymmetric stretching vibration of the calcium carboxylate group and the hydrated species due to the lowering carbonyl stretching frequency by hydrogen bonding$^1$ respectively. Besides, it was demonstrated by X-ray diffraction analysis. The swelling behaviour of LB films in water phase at 23$^{\circ}C$ was observed from the frequency change of the LB films deposited quartz crystal with time. Calcium palmitate LB films has been found to swell substantially in water without flaking, whereas hexadecanol LB films hardly swelled in water. Amount of swelling of calcium palmitate LB films was equivalent to 47 wt.${\%}$ of the dry LB films, which means that ca. 7 water molecules were incorporated per calcium palmitate amphiphile. Chemical structure of calcium palmitate LB film was estimated as [CH$_3$(CH$_2$)$_{14}$COO]$_2$Ca${\cdot}$XH$_2$O, and the hydration number was 1.

Orientation, Surface Roughness and Piezoelectric Characteristics of AlN Thin Films with RF Magnetron Sputtering Conditions (RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링 공정 조건에 따른 AlN 박막의 배향성, 표면 거칠기 및 압전 특성에 관한 연구)

  • AlN thin films have been fabricated by using RF magnetron sputtering method and their crystal orientations, microstructures and piezoelectric properties have been investigated with variation of the $Ar/N_2$ gas ratio and the substrate temperature. Particularly, when the $Ar/N_2$ gas ratio and the substrate temperature are 10/10 (sccm) and $400^{\circ}C$, respectively, the AlN thin film exhibits the highest (002) orientation. The result of the surface roughness measurement by using AFM shows that the surface roughness becomes better as the partial pressure of $N_2$ increases at the substrate temperature of $400^{\circ}C$ and it becomes the smallest value of 2.1 nm when $Ar/N_2$ is 0/20 (sccm). The AFM measurement also shows that when $Ar/N_2$ is 10/10 (sccm) shows that surface roughness becomes better as the substrate temperature increases from room temperature up to $300^{\circ}C$ and then it becomes worse as the substrate temperature goes up from $300^{\circ}C$. At the substrate temperature of $300^{\circ}C$ and $Ar/N_2$=10/10 (sccm), the surface roughness is 3.036 nm. The piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) of AlN thin film is measured by Pneumatic probe method. The measurement shows that the AlN thin film with the highest (002) orientation, fabricated at $Ar/N_2$=10/10 (sccm) and the substrate temperature of $400^{\circ}C$, has the best Piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) of 6.01 pC/N.

Analysis of Frequency Response of Piezo Stages and Scanning Path Monitoring/Compensation for Scanning Laser Optical Tweezers (주사 레이저 광집게를 위한 압전 구동기 주파수 특성 분석과 주사 경로 추적 및 보상)

  • In scanning laser optical tweezers, high speed scanning stages are used to manipulate a laser beam spot. Due to the inertia of the stage, the output scanning signal decreases with increased frequency of the input signal. This discrepancy in the signals is difficult to observe since most of the energy from the laser beam is blocked out to avoid CCD damage. In this paper, we propose two methods to alleviate these problems. Firstly, frequency responses of piezo stages are measured to analyze the signal drops and the input signal is compensated accordingly. Secondly, an overlay of the scanning path is drawn on the live monitoring screen to enhance the visibility of the scanning path. The result is a drop-compensated scanning with clear path view.

Implementation of Ladder Type SAW Filters for Mobile Communication (이동통신 시스템을 위한 사다리형 표면탄성파 필터의 구현)

  • In this paper, we designed a highly suppressed sidelobe ladder type RF SAW bandpass filter based on 1-port resonator, for 800 MHz mobile communication system. In order to get the highest device characteristics, we optimized some important parameters such as the electrode thickness, electrode lambda weghting of the reflectors, and static capacitance ratio. Furthermore, we fabricated the Tx and Rx. filter using optimized parameters. Implemented filters can be used in 800 MHz mobile communication system and external impedance matching circuits are not needed. RF filter was fabricated on 36$^{\circ}$LiTaO$_3$ substrates with Al-Cu (W 3 %)and mounted 3.8mm$\times$3.8mm$\times$1.5mm SMD package. Developed filters has 2.3 dB insertion loss in the 25 MHz pass-band, 33MHz with 3-dB insertion loss, stop-band rejection of 30 dB, passband ripple is less than 0.5 The power durability of the filters measured about 3.5W and the maximum temperature variation within -2$0^{\circ}C$~8$0^{\circ}C$ was 0.09 dB/$^{\circ}C$ of 3-dB insertion loss.

Autofocus of Infinity-Corrected Optical Microscopes by Confocal Principle and Fiber Source Modulation Technique (공초점 원리와 광섬유 광원 변조를 이용한 무한보정 현미경 자동초점)

  • The autofocus is one of the important processes in the automated vision inspection or measurements using optical microscopes, because it influences the measuring accuracy. In this paper, we used the confocal microscope configuration based on not a pinhole but a single-mode optical fiber. A single mode fiber has the functions of source and detector by applying the reciprocal scheme. As a result, we acquired a simple system configuration and easy alignment of the optical axis. Also, we embodied a fast autofocus system by acquiring the focus error signal through a source modulation technique. The source modulation technique can effectively reduce physical disturbances compared with objective lens modulation, and it is easily applicable to general optical microscopes. The focus error signal was measured with respect to the modulation amplitude, reflectance of the specimen and inclination angle of the measuring surface. The performance of the proposed autofocus system was verified through autofocusing flat mirror surface. In addition, we confirmed that source modulation rarely degrades the depth resolution by the comparison between the FWHMs of axial response curves.
