  • In this paper, we design a combined security processor, ECC, MD-5, and AES, as a SIP for cryptography of securing contents. Each SIP is modeled and designed in VHDL and implemented as a reusable macro through logic synthesis, simulation and FPGA verification. To communicate with an ARM9 core, we design a BFM(Bus Functional Model) according to AMBA AHB specification. The combined security SIP for a platform-based SoC is implemented by integrating ECC, AES and MD-5 using the design kit including the ARM9 RISC core, one million-gate FPGA. Finally, it is fabricated into a MPW chip using Magna chip $0.25{\mu}m(4.7mm{\times}4.7mm$) CMOS technology.

  • This paper describes a hardware implementation of ultra-lightweight block cipher algorithm PRESENT-80/128 that supports for two master key lengths of 80-bit and 128-bit. The PRESENT algorithm that is based on SPN (substitution and permutation network) consists of 31 round transformations. A round processing block of 64-bit data-path is used to process 31 rounds iteratively, and circuits for encryption and decryption are designed to share hardware resources. The PRESENT-80/128 crypto-processor designed in Verilog-HDL was verified using Virtex5 XC5VSX-95T FPGA and test system. The estimated throughput is about 550 Mbps with 275 MHz clock frequency.

  • In ubiquitous computing environment, An RFID system will be the important way that recognizing an object instead of Bar-code system. But a privacy infringement problem is predicted between a tag and leader to be serious. There is many difficulty that just uses an existing research method because it has an Hardware restriction. Therefore we will suggest that A RFID Privacy Protect system using Hareware friendly security algorithm. we will use RC5 and CBC_MAC because the tag has hardware restriction .To implement, We will simulate and test on One chip microprcessor environment. In the result of the experiment, We will know that a suggested system solves privacy problem on RFID system that it was using CBC-MAC and RC5 security algorithm.

  • A lightweight block cipher CHAM designed for suitability in resource-constrained environment has reasonable security level and high computational performance. Since this cipher may contain intrinsic weakness on side channel attack, it should adopt a countermeasure such as masking method. In this paper, we implement the masked CHAM cipher on 32-bit microprosessor Cortex-M3 platform to resist against side channel attack and analyze their computational performance. Based on the shortcoming of having many round functions, we apply reduced masking method to the implementation of CHAM cipher. As a result, we show that the CHAM-128/128 algorithm applied reduced masking technique requires additional operations about four times.

  • In this paper, an efficient architecture for the ECC multiplier in GF(2") is proposed. We give a design example for the irreducible trinomials $x_{193}\;+\;x_{15}\;+\;1$. In hardware implementations, it is often desirable to use the irreducible trinomial equations. A digit-serial multiplier with a digit size of 32 is proposed, which has more advantages than the 193bit serial LFSR architecture. The proposed multiplier is verified with a VHDL description using an elliptic curve addition. The elliptic curve used in this implementation is defined by Weierstrass equations. The measured results show that the proposed multiplier it 0.3 times smaller than the bit-serial LFSR multiplier.lier.

  • ARIA is a 128-bit block cipher, which became a Korean Standard in 2004. According to recent research this cipher is attacked by first order DPA attack In this paper, we explain a masking technique that is a countermeasure against first order DPA attack and apply it to the ARIA. And we implemented a masked ARIA for the 8 bit microprocessor based on AVR in software. By using this countermeasure, we verified that it is secure against first order DPA attack.

  • PIPO lightweight block ciphers were announced in ICISC'20. In this paper, a single-block optimization implementation and parallel optimization implementation of PIPO lightweight block cipher ECB, CBC, and CTR operation modes are performed on a 32-bit RISC-V processor. A single block implementation proposes an efficient 8-bit unit of Rlayer function implementation on a 32-bit register. In a parallel implementation, internal alignment of registers for parallel implementation is performed, and a method for four different blocks to perform Rlayer function operations on one register is described. In addition, since it is difficult to apply the parallel implementation technique to the encryption process in the parallel implementation of the CBC operation mode, it is proposed to apply the parallel implementation technique in the decryption process. In parallel implementation of the CTR operation mode, an extended initialization vector is used to propose a register internal alignment omission technique. This paper shows that the parallel implementation technique is applicable to several block cipher operation modes. As a result, it is confirmed that the performance improvement is 1.7 times in a single-block implementation and 1.89 times in a parallel implementation compared to the performance of the existing research implementation that includes the key schedule process in the ECB operation mode.

  • Nowadays, with the rapid spread of streaming services in the internet world, security vulnerabilities are also increasing rapidly. For streaming security, this paper proposes a PN(pseudo-random noise) distributed structure-based security processor for web streaming contents(SP-WSC). The proposed SP-WSC is basically a PN distributed code algorithm designed for web streaming characteristics, so it can secure various multimedia contents. The proposed SP-WSC is independent of the security vulnerability of the web server. Therefore, SP-WSC can work regardless of the vulnerability of the web server. That is, the SP-WSC protects the multimedia contents by increasing the defense against external unauthorized signals. Incidentally it also suggests way to reduce buffering due to traffic overload.

  • Among finite field arithmetic operations, the $AB^2$ operation is known as an efficient basic operation for public key cryptosystems over $GF(2^m)$,Division/Inversion is computed by performing the repetitive AB$^2$ multiplication. This paper presents two new $AB^2$algorithms and their systolic realizations in finite fields $GF(2^m)$.The proposed algorithms are based on the MSB-first scheme using standard basis representation and the proposed systolic architectures for $AB^2$ multiplication have a low hardware complexity and small latency compared to the conventional approaches. Additionally, since the proposed architectures incorporate simplicity, regularity, modularity, and pipelinability, they are well suited to VLSI implementation and can be easily applied to inversion architecture. Furthermore, these architectures will be utilized for the basic architecture of crypto-processor.

  • This paper describes a scalable implementation method of a word-based RSA cryptoprocessor using pseudo carry look-ahead adder The basic organization of the modular multiplier consists of two layers of carry-save adders (CSA) and a reduced carry generation and Propagation scheme called the pseudo carry look-ahead adder for the high-speed final addition. The proposed modular multiplier does not need complicated shift and alignment blocks to generate the next word at each clock cycle. Therefore, the proposed architecture reduces the hardware resources and speeds up the modular computation. We implemented a single-chip 1024-bit RSA cryptoprocessor based on the word-based modular multiplier with 256 datapaths in 0.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ SOG technology after verifying the proposed architectures using FPGA with PCI bus.
