Homelessness is recognized as a problem of lack of housing as well as a social problem entangled by complex problems such as unemployment, family breakdown, social exclusion, health and suicide. In order to search for the specificity of any particular addiction type, we conducted a survey on the addiction and mental health status of the homeless. One of our findings indicated that alcoholism was mainly found more in older homeless; however, internet game and smart phone addiction was found more in younger generations. We hope that our study is meaningful as a typification work at the current stage because there have been few studies in Korea on homeless youth and no study about homeless people's addiction problems other than alcoholism.
The purpose of this paper is to simulate drinking population, an alcoholic abuser and an alcoholic through therapy programs and system dynamic model. Then we try to research relationship between an alcoholic crime and related therapy programs. The results of the model simulation were consistently increased drinking population and 3 types drinkers until 2020 years. Specially the growth rate of drinking abusers will be passing that of a drinking population. Second, It showed clearly the decreasing effects of drinking crime on therapy programs(clinical treatment, preventive displine and counseling treatment). Finally, it will be positvely necessary the long-term and various alcoholic therapy program for reducing the ratio of drinking abusers and an alcoholic. In the second place, government and medical centers must be established a concrete information systems for collecting alcoholic datum.

This study looked at the relationship between lifestyle choices and various substance addictions in young adults by applying the Relapse Prevention model of addiction. The data was obtained from a cross-sectional questionnaire (Depression and Anxiety Assessment Test) of 926 young adults aged 18~24 from 24 countries. Of these, 17.6% reported that they had a serious substance addiction, with alcohol addiction being the highest (11.2%), followed by nicotine (10.3%) and illicit drug (8.7%) usage. Results of chi-square test and logistic regression analysis revealed a significant association between various lifestyle factors (exercise patterns, intake of dietary nutrients like tryptophan, folic acid, omega-3 fatty acids and micronutrients, spiritual habits such as Bible reading and prayer) and addiction to various substances (illicit drugs, alcohol and nicotine). Depression was also found to be a significant factor influencing substance addiction. Interestingly, the risk of alcohol abuse was the highest at 9.870 (95% CI: 4.525-21.525) times among those who didn't have the habit of daily Bible reading. The highest risk of nicotine and illicit drug addiction was among those who consumed 'less than 1 serving' of dietary micronutrients per day compared to those who consumed '5 or more servings', with odds ratios of 9.606(95% CI: 2.726-30.111) and 8.642(95% CI: 2.022-37.378), respectively. These findings suggest that holistic lifestyle interventions may help prevent and reduce substance addiction in young adults.
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of alcohol abstinence self-efficacy in the relationship between the Alcoholics Anonymous affiliation and alcohol recovery. For these purposes, this study recruited 554 abstinent alcoholics participating in Alcoholics Anonymous. Based on structural equational modeling, the results can be summarized as follows: the relationship between the Alcoholics Anonymous affiliation and alcohol recovery was partially mediated by alcohol abstinence self-efficacy. In particular, age difference was found in the mediating relationship. Based on the findings, implications on practice and future research directions are discussed.
The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of social support in relations between alcoholics' depression and suicidal ideation. The subjects were diagnosed with alcohol dependence by the DSM-IV, and are currently hospitalized at the hospitals in Busan, Ulsan, etc. for alcohol treatment. After explaining the purpose of this study to the participants, the questionnaires were distributed to those who agreed to the research and survey was self-written. Through this process, 217 questionnaires were analyzed. The Survey was done from October 1 to November 1, 2017. To examine the mediating effect of social support, 3steps' mediated regression analysis and Sobel test were done. The result of mediated regression analysis show halfly mediated effect of social support on alcoholics' suicidal ideation. According to these findings, intervention strategies that focus on increasing the social support on alcoholics are suggested.

Colaizzi's method of data analysis was applied to inductively determine themes and formulated meanings. Data saturation was achieved and methodological rigor was established. Results: Four themes were identified and these themes included anxiety of nursing practice in unfamiliar setting, sympathy with patients, learning about the inpatient alcoholics care, and self-reflection. Conclusion: Nursing students had positive and negative experiences in their clinical practice. The results of this study had important implications regarding clinical practice and research for nursing clinical education.
