Alcohol affects human body very seriously by causing different types of disease. Therefore, a great deal of studies on alcohol addiction have been conducted. There is little, however, on skin problem in relation to alcohol abuse in domestic researches. This study, with this reason, has been conducted on alco holic women, especially who have sensitive skin, with pruritus. From May 1st until 20th, 2013, surveys using same questionnaires had been carried out for the two different groups. one with 114 female alcoholics from four different clinics for acoholics through the nation, the other with 106 residents without alcoholic problems in Cheong-ju and Seong-nam city. From the comparative study of those surveys, alcohol addicts showed higher scores on pruritus than those without alcoholic problems. In addition, Audit-K score had positive correlation with pruritus score, and drinking cycle and quantity, too, had been found related to pruritus. It is expected that the findings will be used as a fundamental data for treating alcohol addicts with skin disease and leading more active researches on this field for the future.

There is an increasing trend to alcoholics patients due to social factors of the aftereffect of the recession in Korea. Accordingly, study of the impact on society as well as alcoholism impact on individuals is becoming active. To solve the problem of addiction, we needed an integrated management system because the evils of alcoholism and addiction caused by a variety of social, economic and cultural factors. However, alcoholism research investment is less than the health problems like drugs, gambling, internet and we also did not provide proper treatment services for alcohol addiction. In this study, we will develop a customized smart phone application then the patient can acts for the individual circumstances by providing the aggregated information relates to treatment.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of adult ADHD tendency on self-esteem and alcohol addiction. For this purpose, 433 adults in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do were studied. The results were as follows. First, there was a significant difference between self-esteem and alcoholism according to adult ADHD tendency. There was a significant difference in both self-esteem and sub-factors of alcoholism. The higher adult ADHD, the lower score of high class in self-esteem, and the scores of the upper group were higher in alcohol addiction. Second, the correlation among adult ADHD tendency and self-esteem, and alcohol addiction was found. As a result, it showed a high negative correlation with self-esteem, low correlation with alcoholism, and sub-factors. Third, As a result of examining the effect of adult adhd tendency on self-esteem and alcoholism, There were differences according to sub-factors. Therefore, it was found that ADHD tendency affects self-esteem and secondary problem of alcohol addiction. In other words, low self-esteem and alcoholism can be causes of ADHD. And it suggests that multifaceted and integrated-prevention treatment programs need to be developed.

Alcohol abuse negatively affects the individual alcoholics and their families, including children. This paper investigates interventions that help children of alcoholics psychosocially and psychopathologically. We investigated domestic and international literature by searching the related databases and reviewing articles. Inclusion criteria were studies on psychological interventions for children of alcoholics (CoAs) or both CoAs and parents. Results suggest that the interventions help CoAs reduce their emotional and behavioral problems. After the review, the research results were discussed, and suggested further effective interventions. The study is valuable because it reviewed the studies that improved CoAs' psychological problems and suggested future directions

The purpose of this study is to explore further understanding of variables, besides father's alcoholism, which relates to psychosocial adjustment among ADAF(adult daughters of alcoholic fathers). This study examines the relationship between father's alcoholism, family functioning, parental attachment and the psychosocial adjustment among the ADAF. From a larger sample of 463 female college students, 160 ADAF and a matched group of non-ADAF were identified to participate in the study. This survey was conducted in Seoul and Gyungi-do area. Participants completed self-report questionnaires, "The Korean Version of Children of Alcoholics Screening Test", "Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment", "Satisfaction With Life Scale", "Self-esteem", "Beck Depression Inventory" and "Family Environment Scale". Path analyses was used to test the research question. Findings indicated that father's alcoholism had no direct effect on both the psychosocial adjustment of the ADAF and the family functioning. But father's alcoholism was significantly related to parental attachment. Family functioning was significant predictor of attachment to parents as well as psychosocial adjustment. Finally family functioning is important cause for parental attachment and psychosocial adjustment, specifically self-esteem and life satisfaction outcomes only. Therefore parental attachment was function as a mediator in the relationship between family functioning and psychosocial adjustment. In conclusion, this study showed that father's alcoholism did not predict outcome. We need to reconsider the assumption that direct link exists between adult adjustment difficulties and the presence of father's alcoholism. Implications for clinical and theoretical work with ADAF are discussed.

This study has the purpose to examine trauma of male, female alcoholics and understand the factors influencing the trauma and relative influence of trauma to provide implementing social welfare practice. The survey was conducted with 220 alcoholics. Through this survey, it was revealed that the effect of trauma of male, female alcoholics found to be significant. First, Trauma of sexual abuse, suicide, death, disease, family separation of male on childhood are more than female. While, Trauma of physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse on childhood and physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, fraud, physical neglect, miscarriage of female on adulthood are more than male. Second, The education, age of first drinking effect on the trauma of male alcoholics. The education, religion, family history, relapse and insight effect on the trauma of female alcoholics. Based on these results, the practical implications for the trauma of male, female alcoholics had been discussed.

There is literature addressing to cultural aspects of alcohol and alcoholism. However, scholars have paid little attention to study what will happen to alcohol consumption behavior and alcoholism if there is a national government cultural intervention, so that the alcohol drinking culture would change in association with the change of internal institution in a society. This work attempted to study this research question. For this purpose, I selected Mongolia as a research case and examined survey data, statistical data, and data from research-based resources, referring to the last 70 years profile of Mongolian alcohol per capital consumption and alcoholism as well as studying Mongolian historical sources for measuring Mongolian traditional alcohol drinking customs. The data I gathered and observed during this research proved that there is a huge difference between the current drinking culture among younger generation and Mongolian traditional cultural context that was respected and strictly followed by their ancestors. Findings suggest that there has been a parallel increase between the change of alcohol drinking culture and alcohol consumption in connection with the modernization.

The aim of this study was to exploring the experiences of life amomg alcoholics who suicide attempts. The main question of this study is "what the meaning and essence of experiences of life amomg alcoholics with suicide attempts?" The qualitative research method was taken for widely understanding and lively writing experiences of life amomg alcoholics who suicide attempts in the connection of eheir lives. As results, 12 categories appeared from 5 themes as data analysis. The major themes could be analyzed as "Continuing a dark confines of the psychology, emotion", "encounter with worthless oneself of the loath to admit", "The trigger inciting to suicide", "The roots of the drinking and suicide -living with fate", "Holding up a string of life". Based on these results, the practical implications for the alcoholics with suicide attempts had been discussed.

This research purposes to investigate parameters which effect on the relapse of alcoholism, to understand psychological factors for stress control and drinking anticipation which lead to the relapse of female alcoholism and to seek practical ways in social welfare for alcoholism, focusing on the traumatic experiences and post traumatic stress symptoms of female alcoholics experienced physical, sexual abuses. The main results of this research can be summarized as follows. First, the characteristic related with physical, sexual traumatic experiences of subjects is that physical, sexual abuses by acquaintances under 18 is more common than that experiences over 18. Second, the 8 pathes among 10 direct pathes are statistically significant. Third, as the result of verification of indirect effects through parameters, in the model, 4 out of 6 indirect pathes parameterized as post traumatic stress symptoms, problem focused coping, and drinking anticipation are significant. Based on these results, the practical implications for the warning of relapse of female alcoholics had been discussed.

목적 : 오가피 약침이 알코올에 의해서 중독된 Sprague-Dawley(S-D)계 흰쥐의 해마 치상회에서 새로운 신경세포 생성 및 NOS발현에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 방법 : S-D계 흰쥐에 알코올을(2g/kg) 3일간 연속으로 투여한후, 5일간 인체의 중완혈에 상응하는 부위에 오가피 약침(30mg/kg) 치료를 시행하였다. 치료효과를 관찰하기 위해서 BrdU-면역조직화학 염색법 및 NADPH-d-조직화학염색법을 이용하였다. 결과 : 알코올 처치군에서는 BrdU-양성세포수 및 NADPH-양성세포수가 모두 정상군에 비해서 감소한 반면에 알코올 처치후 오가피 약침으로 치료한 군에서는 BrdU-양성세포수 및 NADPH-양성세포수 모두 알코올 처치군에 비해서 증가하였다. 결론 : 오가피 약침치료가 알코올에 의해서 중독된 S-D계 흰쥐 해마 치상회에서 새로운 신경세포의 생성을 증가시키는 것을 확인하였으며, 그 기전으로 산화질소가 관여할 것으로 사려된다.
