Analysis of Effectiveness of Traffic Safety Education on DWI(Driving While Intoxicated) Deterrence (교통안전교육의 음주운전억제 효과분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the deterrence effect of traffic safety education on DWI(Driving While Intoxicated) offenders which is proposed as a incentive policy measure. For the analysis, 3512 drivers whose licenses were suspended due to DWI offence within the jurisdiction of Seongnam city in 2003, and whose driving behavior were traced for 5 years are collected. MOEs used in the study are the number of repeated DWI offence and DWI abidance duration. The statistics of analysis of covariance are used to compare the deterrence effectiveness of traffic safety education by adjusted means between groups. The results show that compared to uneducated group, educated group reveals to make less number of repeated DWI offence with longer DWI abidance period The resulting statistic also shows that active participation in the discussion during the class is more effective than just giving lecture. The former way for education can further reduce the repeated DWI by 12% and increase DWI abidance duration by 5.7% than the latter.

  • 화학공장은 열 없이는 돌아갈 수 없으며 가열로는 공장운전에 있어서 열의 중요한 원천이 된다. 대부분의 공정에 설치되어 있으며, 원유정제공정, 감압증류공정, 탈황공정, 그리고 접촉개질공정 등에서 가열로는 열을 공급하는 주요한 장치이다. 본 연구는 멀티미디어 기술 및 화학 공정 지식을 이용하여 가열로 운전 기술 교육을 위한 새로운 훈련 시스템을 개발한 것이다 이 시스템을 실제 공정에 사용한 결과, 조업자를 교육시키는데 유용하며 특히 운전시 발생할 수 있는 사고를 예방함에 있어 큰 효과가 있음이 증명되었다. (중략)

Analysis of Dangerous Bus Driving Behavior Using Express Bus Digital Tacho Graph Data (고속버스 DTG 자료를 활용한 버스 위험운전 행태 분석)

  • Bus, a major transportation mode, doesn't have a systematical evaluation system for dangerous driving behavior yet. This paper analyzes the characteristics and pattern of bus driving behavior using Digital Tacho Graph(DTG) data on express bus. 8 types of dangerous driving behavior were considered according to timeslot, the day of week and weather condition. As results, rapid acceleration, rapid left right turn and rapid deceleratio accounted for more than 97% and relatively high percentages were shown in dawn, on Friday and on the clear day, respectively. From the statistical analysis, correlation between the dangerous driving types and difference according the timeslot were found, and 3 groups considering the level of the dangerous driving were suggested. This study contributes to setting an efficient and reliable eduction system for using driving simulators.

The Effect Analysis of Safe Driving Education for High-Risk Driver Groups in Sudden Pedestrian Crossing Situation Using a Driving Simulator (주행시뮬레이터를 활용한 보행자 돌발 횡단 상황에서의 고위험 운전자 유형별 안전운전 교육 효과분석)

  • Pedestrian deaths in Korea due to traffic accidents are 40 percent of the fatalities in traffic accidents, which is about twice the average of OECD member countries. To reduce severe pedestrian accidents, it is necessary to apply the accident reduction measures to high-risk drivers (novice, elderly, and commercial vehicle drivers) who are more likely to cause traffic accidents than general drivers. Therefore, this study analyzed the effect of safe driving education on high-risk drivers' behavior. Here, the safe driving education is chosen as the measure to reduce traffic accidents. As part of the study, sudden pedestrian crossing situations were implemented in the driving simulator, and the vehicle trajectory data were collected to compare the driving behavior before and after the education. Most surrogate safety measures showed no improvement in the driving behavior of novice and elderly drivers, and the effect of safe driving education was found to be significant only in the group of commercial vehicle drivers. The results implied that additional measures such as pedestrian safety infrastructure and driver assistance systems, apart from the safe driving education, may be needed for novice and elderly drivers to reduce pedestrian accidents caused by them. With the findings mentioned above, this study is expected to provide a foundation to establish a plan to reduce pedestrian accidents caused by high-risk drivers.

Development of ICT Teaching-Learning materials for Motorcycle Safety Education (이륜차 안전교육을 위한 ICT 교수-학습 자료 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop ICT(Information and Communication Technology) teaching-learning materials for motorcycle safety education. Physical subjects which are relevant with motorcycle dynamics were introduced to increase the safety awareness through integrated learning such as the combination of technology and science. The results of this study were as follows : (1) Utilizing the physics basic theories which are relevant to motorcycle dynamics, the lesson plan of motorcycle ICT teaching-learning materials, which were included to plan and instruction action plan, was developed. (2) Flash animation or movie was developed to apply physics knowledge to technology in driving motorcycle. This is able to improve the attitude of driving motorcycle of students. (3) Through the contents of appendix of motorcycle safety driving section in this web-site developed here, junior and senior high school students would be able to strengthen their cognitive domain of motorcycle by themselves. (4) Using the web-site of this study, both teachers and students would be able to freely interact through an online bulletin board.

  • 본 논문에서는 주행 중 안전운전에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 운전자의 행동을 찾아 분석한 뒤 세분화 하여 분류하고, 주의분산을 유발하는 운전자의 운전행동 구분을 바탕으로 차량을 주행함에 있어 위험요소를 찾아내도록 한다. 이를 통해 향후 자동차사고를 줄이기 위한 제도개선 및 문제점 보완에 기여할 수 있다. 운전 중 운전자의 주의분산을 유발하는 디바이스가 늘어나는 상황에서 본 논문의 분석결과는 운전자의 필수적이지 않은 위험행동을 줄이도록 유도하는 방안을 모색할 수 있다.

The Potential Driving Behavior Analysis of Novice Driver using a Driving Simulator (차량시뮬레이터를 이용한 초보운전자의 잠재적 운전행동 분석)

  • In this study, It is conducted for novice drivers about driving behavior and psychological characteristics analysis to reduce traffic accident risk and provide the basic data of education program development. Therefore, this study classified by the category-specific characteristics and hazard prediction through survey of the novice driver and unpredictable behavior and psychological characteristics were studied. The novice and general characteristics and driving behavior with vehicle simulators, comparison and analysis of the novice driver traffic safety education basic research direction based on the statistical results. Prediction the results of this study, the Hazard of the driver, speeding, traffic violation, information providing omission, abrupt change, the number of accidents in all areas novice driver is high compared to the general driver. In addition, Novice driver showed a statistically significant level of Hazard compared to the general driver target novice drivers and the general ability to predict Hazard of violation, abrupt change, and a number of traffic accidents were omitted level of speeding and other information providing level drivers all showed similar results. Vehicle simulator. The experimental results showed that novice drivers compared to drivers poorly overall driving performance. It showed a notable difference in the number of collisions, especially novice drivers compared to drivers in complex road traffic conditions due to a lack of driving experience and learning ability are considered.

  • In recent years, the emergence of virtual reality (VR Virtual Reality) technology has provided a new model of safety education, enabling users to learn and respond to disasters in a virtual safety education environment. However, the related VR products related to domestic and foreign R & D are relatively simple, there is no practical training on specific accident, and it is not practical enough to play a sufficient role in safety education. In this paper, the problems and disadvantages of VR technology applied in the field of automobile safety education as an example of automobile accident among the types of disasters are examined, and a system framework of automotive safety education based on VR technology is proposed. The vehicle safety education system proposed in this paper will help users to improve driving safety consciousness, to acquire safety knowledge in driving, and to acquire driving safety skill which is very important for automobile safety education. In addition, the design and production methods of safety education based on VR technology are considered to have important reference implications for the application of modern teaching and teaching theory by integrating with VR technology and developing related teaching materials products and finally introducing education.

  • Considering the domestic traffic environment and the increase of traffic accidents, we have been asked to exactly analyze the main causes of accidents for the accident-experienced drivers to be rehabilitated. In this thesis we present the development process and results of a driving simulator using the IPDE method in the interest of safe driving and driving rehabilitation. Through this Driving simulation development the rehabilitated driver has the possibility of experiencing the real driving situation with the driving aptitude and examines the reasons of accidents. Through the examinations the driver has the chance to correct the deformities of driving by choosing the explanatory scenes, and through this process the driver is able to develop the capability to react in the real situation. However this driving simulation system is one of the best developed, depending on weather and road condition the braking distance may change. Therefore the fuzzy rule and neural network have been used in this thesis to solve previously mentioned problem. The simulation exactly calculated the road and weather conditions to adjust the breaking intensity.

화력발전소운영에 대한 전문가시스템의 응용

  • 아직도 공급전력의 상당부분을 차지하고 있는 화력발전소는 대규모인데다가 아주 복잡한 시스테인데, 이러한 시스템을 다양한 상황변황에 따라 성능을 충분히 발휘하면서 또한 안전하게 운전하기 위해서는 고도의 운전기술이 요구된다. 현재 주야간 수요격차의 확대와 원자력공급비율의 증가등에 의해 화력발전소는 설비의 노후화가 날로 심해져가고 있고 연일 계속되는 기동정지 등 과도한 운용이 행해지고 있으며, 이러한 상황하에서 전력공급의 책무를 다할 수 있는 동시에 출력 조정능력, 안전도, 열관리 경제운전등에 관하여 더욱 성능을 향상시키는 것이 화력발전소의 운전을 담당하는 자의 올바른 사명이라고 할 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위해서는, 운전, 보수, 관리, 설비면에서 종합적인 대책이 필요하다. 운전면에서의 대책으로는 운전기술의 고도화가 중요하며, 이를 성취하는데 있어서는 발전소운전에 관한 지식의 질적, 양적확충과, 판단의 신속성 및 신뢰도의 향상, 그리고 숙련된 오퍼레이터의 기술의 전승등이 중요한 과제라고 보여지는 바, 기대되는 기술의 수준이 높아져 가고 있기 때문에 그러한 과제들을 해결하기 위해서는 교육훈련의 내실화, 운전수칙의 정비등 종래의 대응책에 덧붙여서 새로운 대응책이 요망되는 것이다.
