Development of the Multi-Parametric Mapping Software Based on Functional Maps to Determine the Clinical Target Volumes (임상표적체적 결정을 위한 기능 영상 기반 생물학적 인자 맵핑 소프트웨어 개발)

  • To determine the clinical target volumes considering vascularity and cellularity of tumors, the software was developed for mapping of the analyzed biological clinical target volumes on anatomical images using regional cerebral blood volume (rCBV) maps and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps. The program provides the functions for integrated registrations using mutual information, affine transform and non-rigid registration. The registration accuracy is evaluated by the calculation of the overlapped ratio of segmented bone regions and average distance difference of contours between reference and registered images. The performance of the developed software was tested using multimodal images of a patient who has the residual tumor of high grade gliomas. Registration accuracy of about 74% and average 2.3 mm distance difference were calculated by the evaluation method of bone segmentation and contour extraction. The registration accuracy can be improved as higher as 4% by the manual adjustment functions. Advanced MR images are analyzed using color maps for rCBV maps and quantitative calculation based on region of interest (ROI) for ADC maps. Then, multi-parameters on the same voxels are plotted on plane and constitute the multi-functional parametric maps of which x and y axis representing rCBV and ADC values. According to the distributions of functional parameters, tumor regions showing the higher vascularity and cellularity are categorized according to the criteria corresponding malignant gliomas. Determined volumes reflecting pathological and physiological characteristics of tumors are marked on anatomical images. By applying the multi-functional images, errors arising from using one type of image would be reduced and local regions representing higher probability as tumor cells would be determined for radiation treatment plan. Biological tumor characteristics can be expressed using image registration and multi-functional parametric maps in the developed software. The software can be considered to delineate clinical target volumes using advanced MR images with anatomical images.

A Study on Next-Generation Data Protection Based on Non File System for Spreading Smart Factory (스마트팩토리 확산을 위한 비파일시스템(None File System) 기반의 차세대 데이터보호에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The introduction of smart factories that reflect the 4th industrial revolution technologies such as AI, IoT, and VR, has been actively promoted in Korea. However, in order to solve various problems arising from existing file-based operating systems, this research will focus on identifying and verifying non-file system-based data protection technology. Method: The research will measure security storage that cannot be identified or controlled by the operating system. How to activate secure storage based on the input of digital key values. Establish a control unit that provides input and output information based on BIOS activation. Observe non-file-type structure so that mapping behavior using second meta-data can be performed according to the activation of the secure storage. Result: First, the creation of non-file system-based secure storage's data input/output were found to match the hash function value of the sample data with the hash function value of the normal storage and data. Second, the data protection performance experiments in secure storage were compared to the hash function value of the original file with the hash function value of the secure storage after ransomware activity to verify data protection performance against malicious ransomware. Conclusion: Smart factory technology is a nationally promoted technology that is being introduced to the public and this research implemented and experimented on a new concept of data protection technology to protect crucial data within the information system. In order to protect sensitive data, implementation of non-file-type secure storage technology that is non-dependent on file system is highly recommended. This research has proven the security and safety of such technology and verified its purpose.

A Study on the Cerber-Type Ransomware Detection Model Using Opcode and API Frequency and Correlation Coefficient (Opcode와 API의 빈도수와 상관계수를 활용한 Cerber형 랜섬웨어 탐지모델에 관한 연구)

  • Since the recent COVID-19 Pandemic, the ransomware fandom has intensified along with the expansion of remote work. Currently, anti-virus vaccine companies are trying to respond to ransomware, but traditional file signature-based static analysis can be neutralized in the face of diversification, obfuscation, variants, or the emergence of new ransomware. Various studies are being conducted for such ransomware detection, and detection studies using signature-based static analysis and behavior-based dynamic analysis can be seen as the main research type at present. In this paper, the frequency of ".text Section" Opcode and the Native API used in practice was extracted, and the association between feature information selected using K-means Clustering algorithm, Cosine Similarity, and Pearson correlation coefficient was analyzed. In addition, Through experiments to classify and detect worms among other malware types and Cerber-type ransomware, it was verified that the selected feature information was specialized in detecting specific ransomware (Cerber). As a result of combining the finally selected feature information through the above verification and applying it to machine learning and performing hyper parameter optimization, the detection rate was up to 93.3%.

  • It is easy to reverse engineer an Android app package file(APK) and get its decompiled source code. Therefore, attackers obtains economic benefits by illegally using the decompiled source code, or modifies an app by inserting malware. To address these problems in Android, we propose an APK overwrite scheme that protects apps against illegal modification of themselves by using a new anti-reverse engineering technique. In this paper, the targets are the apps which have been written by any programmer. For a target app (original app), server system (1) makes a copy of a target app, (2) encrypts the target app, (3) creates a stub app by replacing the DEX (Dalvik Executable) of the copied version with our stub DEX, and then (4) distributes the stub app as well as the encrypted target app to users of smartphones. The users downloads both the encrypted target app and the corresponding stub app. Whenever the stub app is executed on smartphones, the stub app and our launcher app decrypt the encrypted target app, overwrite the stub app with the decrypted target one, and executes the decrypted one. Every time the target app ends its execution, the decrypted app is deleted. To verify the feasibility of the proposed scheme, experimentation with several popular apps are carried out. The results of the experiment demonstrate that our scheme is effective for preventing reverse engineering and tampering of Android apps.

The design and implementation of pin plugin tool to bypass anti-debugging techniques (Pin을 이용한 안티디버깅 우회 설계 및 구현)

  • Pin is a framework that creates dynamic program analysis tools and can be used to perform program analysis on user space in Linux and Windows. It is hard to analyze the program such as Anti-reversing program or malware using anti-debugging by Pin. In this paper, we will suggest the implementation of scheme bypassing anti-debugging with Pin. Each pin code is written to bypass anti-debugging detecting Pin. And Pin creates a pin tool combined with Pin codes that bypass anti-debugging methods. The pin tool are tested with files created by anti-debugging protector. The technique in the paper is expected to be a reference of code bypassing anti-debugging and be applied to bypass newly discovered anti-debugging through code modification in the future.

  • A policy of instant messaging usage is offered in this article. First, a brief introduction of instant messaging system structure is described. The main threats and vulnerabilities of Instant messenger (IM) are described in the second part of the paper. Instant messaging applications offer so many advantages in so many different fields that they're fast becoming the preferred communication tool for a number of different professional scenarios. When properly implemented, instant messaging can be a true asset to the business by making communications easier throughout the organization. If instant messaging is carelessly implemented, though, it can cause problems with privacy and may expose the organization to various forms of malware. The solution offered in this paper is one of the effective ways against threats of IM. However, the system cannot be secured entirely. All we can do is reducing the risks.

  • As software grows more complex, it contains more bugs that are not recognized by developers. Attackers can then use exploitable bugs to penetrate systems or spread malicious code. As a representative method, attackers manipulated documents or multimedia files in order to make the software engage in unanticipated behavior. Recently, this method has gained frequent use in A.P.T. In this paper, an automatic analysis method to find software security bugs was proposed. This approach aimed at finding security bugs in the software which can arise from input data such as documents or multimedia. Through dynamic taint analysis, how input data propagation to vulnerable code occurred was tracked, and relevant instructions in relation to input data were found. Next, the relevant instructions were translated to a formula and vulnerable input data were found via the formula using an SMT solver. Using this approach, 6 vulnerable codes were found, and data were input to crash applications such as HWP and Gomplayer.

  • Today, the typical web hacking attacks are cross-site scripting(XSS) attacks, injection vulnerabilities, malicious file execution and insecure direct object reference included. Web hacking security systems, access control solutions, access only to the web service and flow inside but do not control the packet. So you have been illegally modified to pass the packet even if the packet is considered as a unnormal packet. The defense system is to fail to appropriate controls. Therefore, in order to ensure a successful web services diagnostic system development is necessary. Web application diagnostic system is real and urgent need and alternative. The diagnostic system development process mu st be carried out step of established diagnostic systems, diagnostic scoping web system vulnerabilities, web application, analysis, security vulnerability assessment and selecting items. And diagnostic system as required by the web system environment using tools, programming languages, interfaces, parameters must be set.

  • Ransomware is a malicious software which requires money to decrypt files that were encrypted. As the number of ransomware grows, the encryption process in ransomware has been more sophisticated and the strength of security has been more stronger. As a result, analysis of ransomware becomes more difficult and the number of decryptable ransomware is getting smaller. So, research on encryption process and decryption method of ransomware is necessary. In this paper, we show encryption processes of 5 ransomwares which were revealed in 2019, and analyze whether or not those ransomwares are decryptable.

In the thesis we analyze the VoIP security caused on 'Soft Phone' and 'Smart Phone', and figure out security policies and delineate those policies on the paper.
