Study on Impact of GUI Design Elements of Mobile Phone on Brand Preference With focus on senior citizens (모바일 폰의 GUI 디자인의 구성요소가 브랜드 선호도에 미치는 영향 실버세대를 중심으로)

  • This study has established the GUI design elements of mobile phones as color, text, layout, graphic icon, and video, under the purpose of exploring the relevance between such elements and brand preference among senior citizens. To accomplish the objective, a model and hypotheses were established, which were tested through a multiple regression analysis. The findings are as follows. First, when the statistical significance was examined by GUI design element of mobile phones, the following results were obtained: Color, text, layout, graphic icon, and video were statistically significant at the significance level given, indicating that such elements all affect brand preference. Second, the relative influence of GUI design elements of mobile phones on brand preference was revealed in the following order: text, color, video, graphic icon, layout. It indicates that boosting the brand preference of senior citizens for mobile phones requires considering 'text' and 'color' first before any other element. In addition, as the influence of 'text' and 'color' becomes greater, the brand preference also becomes higher.

  • People's thinking and aging ways, which are spread in the abnormal situation called the reoognition panic, are different from those in the normal situation. So the design which is applied to this situation have the different points to be considered. The design in the abnormal situation is as important as that in the normal situation. This study is to evaluate the basic usability of the icons which are applied to this situation. The basic data about the recognition course, icon and metaphor have been collected and analyzed, and then the experiments based on this have been planned. The proprieties and conclusions about the ways have been generalized through accomplishing and analyzing the planned experiments. The most important meaning of this study is to suggest the examples of the usability estimating ways of the design works in the abnormal situation where the recognition panic may happen with high frequency. I hope that this study will be used for checking and improving in advance the difficulties of using the design which may happen in the real situation, by using actively the similar ways to this experiment.

  • Interactive TV의 주요 특징으로 고품질, 다채널, 다기능, 양방향성, 지능형 등을 들 수 있는데 그 중에서도 다채널화로 시청자들이 원하는 프로그램을 얼마나 쉽게 빨리 찾을 수 있을 것인가가 문제시되고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 EPG(Electronic Programing Guide) User Interface Design을 함에 있어 레이아웃, 컬러, 텍스트, 아이콘 등의 시각적 요소들과 네비게이션이 잘 구성되어야하고 디지털방송시스템의 기능적인 구조적 특징들이 잘 어울려질 때 진정한 EPG의 사용자 인터페이스 디자인이 탄생한다. 본 연구에서는 현재 방송사들이 사용하고 있는 EPG의 인터페이스 디자인을 분석하고 Interactive TV의 인터페이스 디자인에 관하여 문헌을 통한 연구를 한다. 이를 통해 새로운 EPG 인터페이스 디자인을 들어감에 있어 가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다. 사용자가 좀 더 편리하고 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 디자인을 개발하여 시청자들이 편리하게 사용하여 Interactive TV와의 대화가 원활하게 수행될 수 있도록 하는 것이 본 논문의 궁극적인 목적이다. 향후 본 연구에서 제시한 EPG 사용자 인터페이스 디자인 가이드라인이 EPG를 User Interface Design함에 있어 하나의 좋은 지침서가 될 것이다.

Convergence Study on Usability of Music Streaming App UX Design (음악 스트리밍 앱 UX디자인의 사용성에 대한 연구 -멜론, 유튜브 뮤직, 지니, FLO앱을 중심으로)

  • In this study, in order to provide an app with improved usability to users in the trend of gradually increasing the number of users of music streaming services, usability tests were conducted by conducting interviews before and after the execution of the screen test technique and the performance measurement method and contextual. Usability test was conducted using the Inquiry method. Usability tests were conducted by one user each from their teens to their 50s, and were conducted on Melon, YouTube Music, Genie, and FLO apps with many service users. As a result of the usability test, the icon does not sufficiently represent the function and is not recognized as an interactive button, which is overlooked by the user, the problem that the user does not recognize due to lack of visual effect when the function is activated, The problem was derived. In this regard, suggestions for improving the user screen, such as intuitively changing the icon for each app, adding a visual effect of the screen when the function is activated, and adjusting the position so that the function has continuity, were presented along with the visual data.

A Study on GUI Design about Tablet PC: Focused on Shopping Application of China (태블릿 PC의 GUI 디자인 연구 -중국의 쇼핑 애플리케이션을 중심으로-)

  • In the context of the number of Tablet PC users which increases rapidly, online shopping application has also been a corresponding rapid development. However, as a practical matter, the differences among the consumers' ability will affect the purchase of application for the realization of user needs. Therefore, shopping application in the GUI design to improve consumers use needs to be improved to meet the demands of different users. In view of this problem, this paper has carried on the related research on the GUI design of Tablet PC application, and fully considers the visualization image elements of information transmission, then analyzed the top five shopping application in Chinese market via three visual elements - icon, label and color. In addition, it conducted a questionnaire which based on the object of Tablet PC shopping application Chinese users. Consequently, what obtained is, based on the survey findings, the GUI design proposal which reasonable reflects the shopping application with functionality and designability. Through the research results of this paper, we can get the conclusion that the three kinds of visual GUI elements-icon, label and color- have the influence on the user's usability. In addition, this study can be expected as a reference in the shopping software GUI design.

  • This study is a VR system design designed to evaluate the impact of interaction on user experience analyzed by developer's perspective for the interactive VR fashion show. In the VR fashion show design, we produced an interactive system through the four interactive elements of camera viewpoint, cloth, effects, and sound. The interactive design system is proposed based on three application facto rs in VR space design: speed, range, and mapping. The study focused on the user experience based on format conversion to apply the Unity3D engine using 3D model, animation, 2D UI design, and simulation.

Analysis of the Fashion Customization Platform Design Cases (패션 커스터마이징 플랫폼 디자인 사례분석 연구)

  • Various customizing services are also being introduced in the fashion industry in line with the diversification of consumer tastes and the demand for small production of multiple varieties. However, barriers to entry are high for consumers who are not customized, and various functions are rather complicated. This study selected the three platforms that provide the most similar services to Marple, the No. 1 fashion platform sales, as comparative models and used them as a basic study for web-based fashion customization platform design through case analysis. As a research method, theoretical examinations were conducted through literature surveys, followed by web analysis based on layout, menu, color, icon, and interaction. The study found that the placement of options, the composition of menu windows, the number of point colors, and the use of icons without functions of metaphores hindered the use of customizing platforms. This work proposes a solution, and aims to contribute to increasing the usability of future customizing web by comprehensively analyzing the visual shaping elements of web platform design.
