  • 월악산, 소백산, 치악산 등 높은 산들로 둘러싸여 분지형태를 띠고 있는 제천시는 충청북도 북부에 위치한 중부내륙의 중심지이자 충청도, 경상도, 강원도의 접경지역으로 예로부터 교통의 요지로 꼽혀왔다. 그리고 교통과 물류의 중심지인 이곳에는 아세아시멘트 제천공장이 자리잡고 있다. 귀가 얼얼할 만큼 맹추위기 불어 닥친 2012년 겨울의 한파 속에서도 아시아시멘트 제천공장은 변함없이 힘차게 돌아가고 있었다. 특히 아세아시멘트의 지향점과 정신을 대변하듯 공장입구에 세워져 있는 '인화단결(人和團結)'의 비석이 인상적이었다. 지금부터 작지만 단단한 연구조직인 아세아시멘트 기술연구소에 찾아가 그들의 연구개발 현황과 미래에 대해 들어본다.

  • Since the climate problem getting severe, carbon neutrality is rising global issue. The limestone powder addition that can substitute clinker in cement is look forward to get positive effect as filler. This study focus on the effect of limestone powder chemical characteristic on mortar workability and compressive strength. Consequently, regardless of type of limestone and subsitution amount, the compressive strength was lower then OPC. But the workability of limestone composite cement showed higher then OPC. Considering latter strength development, using unit water decreasing effect of limestone composite cement is planned further.

A Study on the Correlation between Cement Chlorine Content and Concrete Slump, Compressive Strength (시멘트 염소 함량과 콘크리트의 슬럼프, 압축강도 간의 상관관계 연구)

  • This study was analyzed the relationship between concrete slump, compressive strength and other factors such as the quantity of chloride or others using statistics method. The amount of chloride in cement was selected to range from 236 to 794 ppm, and cement that satisfied the KS L 5201 standard for other physical properties was used for this experiment. As a result, no factors had a interrelationship for initial slump and the strong-negative correlation between concrete slump elapsed time and the quantity of chloride. The proportion of chloride was shown as a strong-positive correlation for compressive strength from 1-day to 7-day curing. However, there was no correlation between chloride and compressive strength at 28-day curing.

Effect of Chlorine Content in Clinker on Setting and Compressive Strength of Early Strength Cement (클링커 염소 함량이 조강형 시멘트의 응결 및 압축강도에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, we examine the feasibility of using chlorine in clinker as an early-strength cement by the effect of accelerating the cement hydration reaction of chlorine. Clinker with a chlorine content of 200-1,000 ppm was prepared using actual cement kilns, and 46 cement samples were prepared by adding gypsum and admixtures(GGBFs and limestone). We measured consistency, setting, 1-28 days compressive strength and analyzed them statistically. Test results indicated that an increase of the chlorine content resulted in shortening of initial and final setting time and the improvement of 1 day compressive strength. But the 28 days compressive strength was decreased. Specifically, when the chlorine content was increased from 230 to 965 ppm, the 1 day compressive strength increased up to 4.6 MPa, improvement effect was superior to that of increasing Blaine in the range of 3,400-3,970 cm2/g.
