  • This paper aims to explain the Korean urbanization, which can be characterized by the development of apartment complexes and new towns, in relation to urban ideology in Korea. In particular, it examines the impacts of the ideological processes of Gangnam-ization on the ways in which 'the urban' has been represented, imagined, aspired, and consumed by the Korean urban middle class in particular ways. For this research, we interviewed 22 urban middle class people living in three important urban centers (Gangnam, Bundang, and Haeundae).

A qualitative Study of successful community networking experiences of social workers (지역사회 네트워킹(community networking) 형성·유지경험에 관한 질적 연구)

  • In spite of theoretical logics about the necessities and effects of community networking, we have easily watched the failure of netwoking efforts and break of community networks in everyday life. Starting from these experiences, I tried to understand the process of community networking from the networkers'point of view, by the qualitative research method. Through qualitative in-depth interviews on the 6 experienced social workers in 4 communities, I analyzed their experiences of community network building, presented the results(practical guidelines), especially for the social workers expecting to be a community netwoker themselves. They consist of 10 categories and 5 themes(Being a leader/leaderships, partnership/teamwork building, understanding the impact of context, resource usage, netwoking sustaining).

A study on the Psychological Phenomena of Christian Elders Living Alone (크리스천 독거노인들의 심리적 현상 연구)

  • In this study, I wanted to explore in depth the meaning of psychological phenomena experienced by Christian living alone. For this purpose, five male and female living alone aged 65 or older were interviewed in depth, and the data after the interview was qualitatively analyzed by Giorgi's method of phenomenological research. The study found five categories : 'feeling closer to death', 'loneliness due to lack of a partner to talk to', 'helplessness to a debilitated body phenomenon', 'disconnected relationships' and 'looking at God'. The findings that the faith proved to be an important factor of overcoming loneliness in the lives of the elderly, provide a foundation for understanding and the pastoral counseling of the elderly living alone in churches.

  • This study attempts to develop marriage satisfaction program for remarried couples. Therefore, based on the in-depth interviews for 10 remarried couples, the plan was to present the direction of the program development for remarried couples' satisfaction. In this study, the marital satisfaction program of remarried couples should move toward increasing understanding among family members based on their strengths as well as conflicts and difficulties of remarried families. Therefore, the research will be meaningful in that it not only leads to successful remarriage but also enhance the happiness of family members.

Identification of Contract Foodservice Management Companies' Push, Pull, and Interactive Push-Pull Factors for Internationalization by In-Depth Interview (심층면접을 활용한 위탁급식업체 국제화 추진, 유인 및 상호작용 요인 항목 선정)

  • The aims of study were to provide basic data for the internationalization of Contract Foodservice Management Companies (CFMC) and to gain a better understanding of internal push-and-pull factors through in-depth interviews. The interviewees were managers of four large CFMCs and one small-to-medium CFMC. The non-structured interview format employed an interview guide of open-ended questions. All interviews were digitally recorded and notes were taken simultaneously by an interview assistant. The narrative data analysis involved transcription, coding, classification by categories, and content analysis. Eighty-eight codes were generated from the interview analyses, and the subordinate variables uncovered included seven push factors, eight pull factors, one interactive factor, and 10 internal dynamics. These factors will be useful in further studies of the internal operations of specific CFMCs, and more generally, the practical condition of the industry.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a development strategy that can enhance local brands by fostering the marine sports industry as a strategic industry that can lead the local economy in Jeollanam-do. As a research method, the literature survey analyzed policy data and previous studies related to marine sports, and the answers in in in-depth interviews were categorized into semantic units and analyzed. In conclusion, Jeollanam-do needs to build representative marine sports facilities by properly utilizing natural conditions, and Jeollanam-do, which has low competitiveness, needs to develop marine sports equipment and connect with tourism resources such as marine, culture, and history.

The subjective perception of Related group's Concerning the Identity of Community Children Center (지역아동센터의 정체성에 대한 관련 집단들의 주관적 인식유형)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the subjective perception of Related group's Concerning the Identity of Community Children Center. Q methodology was applied of the study. 23 Q-statements were created based on selected 337 statements and were classified by 40 candidates who related Community Children Center. The obtained data were analyzed by means of PC Quanl program. The result showed that the identity of Community Children Center were classified in 4 types. The types included "Type I: the leading agency for children, families and communities", "Type II: Agency that operated by dedication and commitment" "Type III: Center that complements the family" "Type IV: Systematic operational support standardization is required. In conclusion, the results of the data revealed the importance of the various recognition-types of individuals related to the identity of the community children's center.

A Study on the Intermediary Experience of Product Philanthropy between Corporations and NPOs: Exploring for the Development of Product Philanthropy Systems (기업과 비영리기관의 현물기부 중개 경험에 관한 연구 : 현물기부 시스템 개발을 위한 탐색)

  • Although the concern about various welfare resources in the private sector is increasing, it has been less discussed on product donation in comparison with cash donation. This study is to explore effective product donation system by understanding the intermediary process experience of product philanthropy between corporations and non-profit organizations. In order to understand such process in details, data was collected by conducting interview in-depth with 4 corporate staff and 2 NPOs staff in charge for product donation. Based on the findings of study, suggestions are discussed for effective intermediary systems of product donation including the use of new technology such as the on-line system of Good 360(formerly Gift In Kind International) and for improving the partnership between corporations and NPOs to activate product philanthropy. Also, these show that it is necessary to reinforce institutional support on tax-incentive and fair market value of giving product.

Case Study for the Communication Elements of Facebook Advertising (페이스북광고의 커뮤니케이션 요소에 관한 연구)

  • This study will analyze the meaning and the characteristic of advertising system in Facebook, one of the leading social platforms. This study focuses on finding the trend of mobile advertisement and observing Facebook users behavior. During 30seconds, the researcher observed the behaviors of 50 male and female university students which they access and use their own Facebook individually. After the observation, the researcher did an in-depth analysis based on offline discussion with tested participants. As a result, it can be classified in positive causes and negative causes of the advertisement. There are 3 positive causes; native advertisement effect, acquaintance effect, and big data effect and they help people watch the advertisement positively. 1.5-3 times per second high speed scroll behavior (Finger effect) is the main negative cause and it help users escape from the advertisement easily. These positive and negative causes have an interactive synergy which reduces user stress and makes people enjoy ad more than other media. Finally, both of them cause making Facebook a better environment for the advertisement.

Exploring the Growth Process Types of Social Welfare Organizations in Korea - Focusing on Social Welfare Corporations Operating Social Welfare Facilities - (사회복지조직의 조직성장유형에 관한 탐색적 연구 - 시설운영 사회복지법인을 중심으로 -)

  • This study analyzed the growth process types of social welfare corporations that have operated social welfare facilities after the Korean War and studied the methods of their organizational management. A number of 20 participants composed of the original founders, directors, and chief directors of social welfare corporations that have been established for more than 40 years were selected for in-depth interviews. The researcher had procedures of in-depth interviews with 20 participants, relevant literature reviews, conformation of the research results by participants and peer reviews. There were 169 concepts, 49 sub-categories, and 21 categories revealed by applying the grounded theory method of Strauss and Corbin. The organizational growth types were categorized into the three patterns: familism practicing type, community changing guidance type and the realization of a just society leading types. The results from the research work will provide understanding the original characteristics of social welfare corporations in Korea, building the theory for the growth process types of social welfare corporations and implicating the practice of social welfare organizational management.
