P-samples were 31 school age children (8-13 year olds), Q-sorting was carried out using Q-cards, and the collected data was analyzed using the PC QUANL program. Results: As a result of the study, children's perception of death was divided into five types. • Objectives:This study was conducted to compare the clinical and neuropsychological characteristics by DSM-IV subtypes of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) patients who did not have comorbid psychiatric disorders. Methods:5-15 year old children with ADHD were recruited at psychiatric outpatient clinic of Yeungnam University hospital and the patients with comorbidity or neurological abnormalities were excluded. Finally, total 404 children with ADHD were selected for this study. There were 234 subjects of ADHD-C(57.9%), 156 subjects of ADHD-I(38.6%) and 14 subjects of ADHD-HI(3.5%), who fulfilled the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria. The mean age of the total subjects was 9.63±2.49 years old. The psychopathology, IQ, behavioral problems, neuropsychological executive function were evaluated before pharmacological treatment. The measures were Korean Personality Inventory of Child(K-PIC) for psychopathology, 4 behavioral check lists(ADDES-HV, ACTeRS, CAP, SNAP) for behavioral symptoms of ADHD, K-ABC and KEDI-WISC for IQ and Conner's CPT, WCST, SST for neuropsychological executive functions. Results:1) The prevalence of subtypes was ADHD-C, ADHD-I, ADHD-HI in decreasing order. There was no sex difference of prevalence among three subtypes. The mean age of ADHD-I was older than other subtypes. 2) There was significant differences of psychopathology among subtypes, the ADHD-C and ADHD-HI had higher than the ADHD-I in the scores of delinquent, hyperactivity and psychosis;the ADHD-C had higher than the ADHD-I in the scores of family relation and autism, the scores of ego resilience were lower than the ADHD-I. However, there was no difference in anxiety, depression and somatization scores among them. 3) The results of behavioral symptom check lists, the ADHD-C had higher the score of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity than the ADHD-I. Meanwhile the results of ACTeRs, which rated by the teachers, were different. 4) There were significant differences of sequential processing scale and arithmetics among subtypes in IQ using K-ABC, but there was no significant difference between the ADHD-C and the ADHD-I after excluding the ADHD-HI due to small numbers. 5) There was numerical difference among subtypes but did not reach statistical significance in three neuropsychological executive function tests. Conclusion:In conclusion, our results revealed that there was significant difference in clinical features among three subtypes but, no significant difference in executive functions.

We used a 5-step hierarchical multiple-regression analysis by entering each sociodemographic variable, medical variable, and three types of financial hardship (a material situation, the psychological response, and coping behavior coming from cancer treatment cost) into each step. Results: The results of statistical analysis indicate that the most influential factor in the quality of life was the financial difficulty, which was the frustration that they could not work as usual or support their family financially. In addition, the performance of physical activity, accompanying diseases, women patients, psychological burden on cancer treatment cost, the satisfaction of communication with medical staff for medical expenses, and the feeling unsuccessful financial coping strategy were predictors for the quality of life of cancer survivors. The results are as follows. First, two-third of gamers used the random item games and women are more engaged than men in random item games. Second, there were significant differences of gaming disorder tendency, game use time, and game use money (both for general and random item) depending on the item use type. Third, predictors of gaming disorder tendency were found as game use money (general), game use time, maladaptive emotion regulation, stress, novelty seeking, and stress using multiple regression analysis. Proper intervention for gaming disorder tendency and the need of further research were discussed.

  • Objectives : This study analyzed psychological aftereffects and made comparisons between victims who were either sexually assaulted or molested using the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2(MMPI-2). Methods : The participants were adult women who visited the Busan Smile Center within 6 months following sexual assault. This study categorized the participants according to types of sexual violence and then identified their social demographic features and characteristics. Student's t-tests were carried out to compare the MMPI-2 results between the sexually assaulted group and sexually molested group. Chi-square tests were also conducted to compare between participants who scored above 65T. Results : Among the 55 participants, 32 were sexually assaulted; 23 were sexually molested. Significant differences between the two groups were found in the following scales: F, F(B), F(P), Pt, Sc, Ma, RC6 and PSYC. Moreover, the number of participants with higher scores in the Pa, Pt, Sc, RC6, and PSYC scales in the sexually assaulted group was significantly higher than in the sexually molested group. Conclusions : Both groups of victims may commonly suffer beyond the moderate level of depression and anxiety in the post-case term. In addition, the sexually assaulted group seems to suffer relatively more from panic and psychological pain than the sexually molested group does.
