During laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a surgical clip is used to control the cystic duct and cystic artery. In the past, metallic clips were usually used, but over recent years, interest in the use of Hem-o-lok clips has increased. Surgical clip migration into the common bile duct (CBD) after laparoscopic cholecystectomy has rarely been reported and the majority of reported cases involved metallic clips. In this report, we describe the case of a 53-year-old woman who presented with abdominal pain caused by migration of a Hem-o-lok clip into the CBD. The patient had undergone laparoscopic cholecystectomy 10 months previously. Abdominal CT revealed an indistinct, minute, radiation-impermeable object in the distal CBD. The object was successfully removed by sphincterotomy via ERCP using a stone basket and was identified as a Hem-o-lok clip.

Static seals are used to seal high temperature gas and cryogenic fluid under high pressure, at interfaces between liquid rocket engine components such as combustion chamber, turbopump, gas generator, valves, etc. As thermal expansion and contraction at assembly interfaces cause undesirable leakage under cryogenic and high temperature environments, static seals applied for sealing of joint interfaces without relative motion should be designed properly. The additional function of rotation at the sealing face is also required for static seals, when the spherical flange is used for improvement of assembly at misalignment interfaces. In this study, structural analysis and leak tightness test of simulating test rig for several important interfaces are performed, to verify structural integrity of static seals.

Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare clinical syndrome characterized by profuse jelatinous materials in the abdominal cavity and pelvis with mucinous implants on the peritoneal surface. There are some studies for serum tumor markers, including carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) and carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125), to assess the risk of recurrence following cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal chemotherapy. However, rare cases were reported about recurrence with increasing serum CEA levels. Herein, we report a case of recurrence of PMP according to serially elevated serum CEA.

A reverberation chamber should be designed and constructed so as to satisfy its purposes and available space. However, it is somewhat difficult to meet the intended design requirements due to various errors from construction process. So, the post-construction measurement of its volume and surface areas is very essential to check the actual volume and volume uncertainty of a reverberation chamber These values should be carefully calculated and accurately estimated since they are used not only to evaluate the acoustic characteristics of building materials but also to calculate uncertainties for other acoustic characteristics. In this work, the method for the calculation and uncertainty estimation of the volume of a reverberation chamber is presented. To this end, the coordinates of all corners was measured with Total Station after construction. The results showed that the calculated volume of the measured reverberation chamber differs by 5 % from the design specification. The expanded volume uncertainty was also estimated to be about 2 % of the total calculated volume.

Objectives: The oriental medical care has been getting popular in community health centers because of uniqueness, changing of disease patterns, and increasing of elderly population. From 1998, oriental medical doctors has been working in several rural community health centers for their military obligations. At this point of time, it is necessary to evaluate the oriental public health doctors system. This study was performed to investigate the utilization patterns, the degree of satisfactions, needs of oriental medical care service provided by community health center in a designated Gun area. This study focused on the need for extending over Myun area of community health center's oriental medical care services. Methods: Person-to-person interview survey method through a structured questionnaire was done by a personnel at a oriental medical care service room in a Gun community health center. The major statistical method used for the analysis were the t-test, ANOVA, and logistic analysis. Results: The total number of responded subjects in this study was 163 residents. Among these 65.0% were aged 61 or over, and only 13.5% recognized themselves were healthy. 73.7% of the respondents demanded establishment of more oriental medical care services provided by community health center to other Myun area. Factors affecting the need for enlargement of oriental medical care service room were education level, subjective awareness of access to community health center, and cost satisfaction of oriental medical service provided by community health center. Thus, a resident who had graduation of middle school achievement or above(OR=3.35), had a long way to center(OR=2.47), satisfied with oriental medical service cost(OR=2.78) had demonstrated increased chance of need by logistic regression analysis.

샤워실에 갑자기 물을 틀었더니 찬물이 나온다. 그렇다고 해서 수도꼭지를 더운 물 쪽으로 확 돌리면 이번엔 너무 뜨거운 물이 쏟아진다. 샤워실의 바보는 끝없이 뜨거운 물과 찬물을 번갈아가며 틀어대는 어리석은 사람을 말한다. 이 비유는 경제상황에 따라 이리저리 통화정책을 바꾸는 어리석음을 지적하기 위한것이다. 돈은 풀었다 조였다 하기보다는 경제규모의 확대에 따라 '꾸준히 안정적으로 확대공급' 하는 것이 가장 좋은 경기조절 정책이라고 통화론자 밀튼 프리드먼은 주장했다.

전통 국악기인 가야금의 명주실 현의 제조방법을 개선하고자 시험을 수행한 결과는 다음과 같다. 가. 생사의 종류가 명주실 현에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 시험한 결과 생사종류에 따라서 강력과 신도의 차이가 컸으나 이 생사로 만든 명주실현은 강력과 신도의 차이는 줄어들어 생사종류에 따른 차이는 없었다. (중략)
