  • This paper proposes a minimal contour tracking algorithm that reduces transmission of data for tracking mobile objects in surveillance networks in terms of detection and communication load. This algorithm perform detection for object tracking and when it transmit image data to server from camera, it minimized communication load by reducing quantity of transmission data. This algorithm use minimal tracking area based on the kinematics of the object. The modeling of object's kinematics allows for pruning out part of the tracking area that cannot be mechanically visited by the mobile object within scheduled time. In applications to detect an object in real time, when transmitting a large amount of image data it is possible to reduce the transmission load.

  • This paper describes preliminary results we have obtained in developing a computer vision system based on active IR illumination for real time gaze tracking for interactive graphic display. Unlike most of the existing gaze tracking techniques, which often require assuming a static head to work well and require a cumbersome calibration process for each person, our gaze tracker can perform robust and accurate gaze estimation without calibration and under rather significant head movement. This is made possible by a new gaze calibration procedure that identifies the mapping from pupil parameters to screen coordinates using the Generalized Regression Neural Networks (GRNN). With GRNN, the mapping does not have to be an analytical function and head movement is explicitly accounted for by the gaze mapping function. Furthermore, the mapping function can generalize to other individuals not used in the training. The effectiveness of our gaze tracker is demonstrated by preliminary experiments that involve gaze-contingent interactive graphic display.

  • In this paper we have implemented a 3-D PL (Position Location) system to estimate the 3-dimensional position of a moving object in underwater environments. In this research, we let four sensors fixed in different Positions and moving sensorsto communicate with each other to find the 3-dementianal positions for both the fixed and moving objects. Using this we were also able to control the moving object remotely. When finding the position, we calculated the norm of the Jacobian matrix every iteration in the Newton algorithm. Also by using a different initial value for calculating the solution when the norm became higher than the critical value and the solution from the inverse matrix became unstable, we could find a more reliable position for the moving object. The proposed algorithm was used in implementing a DSP system capable of real-time position location. To verify the performance, experiments were done in a water tank. As a result we could see that our system could located the position of an object every 2 seconds with a error range of 5cm.

  • In some cases of u-health services, it is important and then required to pursue the location of users in real time because users could occasionally be in the situation beyond self-regulation. Location positioning has used two such typical techniques as trilateration and fingerprinting. A trilateration technique is usually based on three resident coordinates to identify the location of the target node. Ranging that measures distances between coordinates and the node is essential for applying the trilateration technique. Users especially in u-health services could be out of reachability in any such reasons as out of propagation ranges, fault of a communication counterpart, non-existence of possible communication facility, etc. This paper proposes a real-time locating method which can improve to identify and track the location of mobile objects. The method is based on references of identified mobile nodes as well as resident coordinates even though they may be partially out of communication reachability.

  • This paper describes the implementation of a robust speaker position location system using the voice signal received by microphone array. To be robust to the reverberation which is the major factor of the performance degradation, low-frequency phase restoration algorithm which eliminates the influence of reverberations using the low-frequency information of the CPSP function is proposed. The implemented real-time system consists of a general purpose DSP (TMS320C31 of Texas instruments), analog part which contains amplifiers and filters, and digital part which is composed of the external memory and 12-bit A/D converter. In the real conference room environment, the implemented system that was constructed by the proposed algorithms showed better performance than the conventional system. The error of the TDOA estimation reduced more than 15 samples.

  • The Real Time Location System (RTLS) is very important in the ubiquitous society for real time tracking of men, high price assets, and logistics products. In this work, we developed an active RF system for RTLS and tested its performance. The RTLS system developed in this work was constructed of three active readers and one active tag. The small size tag developed in this work operated with a coin type battery. To make the tag smaller, we used an internal PCB antenna and a chip antenna. We tested the performance of the tag. To reduce the manufacturing cost of our RF system, we used low price RF transceiver CC2510 chip-set. The CC2510 chip-set provided RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) signal which could be used to determine the distances between an active tag and three active readers.

  • In this paper, to overcome the limitation of information transmission and reception according to the RF system of UAV, it is necessary to check the position of many UAVs in flight on the basis of mobile communication and to make the LTE modem lightweight and low power And UAVs that are in operation are received and controlled. Through this study, we proposed a method to control real-time location tracking by connecting high-resolution images to the network anytime and anywhere. For this purpose, we propose the requirements and requirements of LTE modem using real-time high-speed data communication technology (3G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth) by presenting the communication module system of LTE-based UAV. N:N control system concept and implementation technology(Control system structure, control data flow chart, flight planning and transmission, real-time location tracking).

  • Accurate tracking of the sinkholes that are appearing frequently now is an important method of protecting human and property damage. Although many sinkhole detection systems have been proposed, it is still far from completely solved especially in-depth area. Furthermore, detection of sinkhole algorithms experienced the problem of unstable result that makes the system difficult to fire a warning in real-time. In this paper, we proposed a method of sinkhole tracking by deep learning and data association, that takes advantage of the recent development of CNN transfer learning. Our system consists of three main parts which are binary segmentation, sinkhole classification, and sinkhole tracking. The experiment results show that the sinkhole can be tracked in real-time on the dataset. These achievements have proven that the proposed system is able to apply to the practical application.

  • Generally, moving object tracking used Lucas-Kanade feature tracking method which is strong in movement, rotation and size. But this method is very weak of occlusion by background or another object and so on. In this case, this method tracks backgrounds or another objects instead a moving object, or a tracking is finished. In order to solve this problem, we proposes Lucas-Kanade feature tracking method which introduce a destimation function and prediction function.
