  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the stress experienced by pre-service chemistry teachers during their teaching practice. To do this, a stress test tool for pre-service science teachers was developed, and a survey was conducted with 19 pre-service chemistry teachers to investigate their anticipated stress before the practice and the stress experienced after the practice. The survey, conducted online before and after the teaching practice, was analyzed using descriptive statistics. The interpretation of the stress test results for pre-service chemistry teachers was based on teaching portfolios and interview data compiled during the teaching practice. The research findings are as follows: First, pre-service chemistry teachers anticipated various stresses before the teaching practice, but the number of stress factors and the number of pre-service teachers experiencing stress were generally lower during the practice. Second, there are a difference in the factors and percentage of anticipated and experienced stress before and during the teaching practice depending on the school level where pre-service chemistry teachers gained their practice. Third, there was no gender difference in the stress experienced by pre-service chemistry teachers during the teaching practice.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the convergence that resilience has on clinical performance ability and stress in clinical practice in order to prepare effective educational materials for clinical practice. The results showed that satisfaction of university life, satisfaction of nursing major and satisfaction of clinical practice had significant effects on resilience, clinical performance ability and stress in clinical practice. Also the correlation between the resilience and clinical performance ability of nursing students was positive(r=.510). And the correlation between the resilience and stress in clinical practice was negative(r=-.153). These findings indicate that there is a need to improve resilience of nursing students to promote the clinical performance ability and to lessen stress in clinical practice. The results should be reflected in the development of effective programs.

A research was held to the nursing students living in Seoul and Chungbuk from September 10 to October 10, 2022, 259copies of the data were used for the final analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Multiple linear regressions was used. As a result of the study, there was a positive correlation between clinical practice stress due to burden of work, practice education environment stress, and active coping with stress. Clinical practice stress due to interpersonal conflicts, conflicts with patients, burden of work, and undesirable role models was positively correlated with passive coping with stress. Satisfaction of clinical practice, practical educational environment stress and gender accounted for 15.0% of the total variance in the active stress coping, and burden of work accounted for 7% of the total variance in the passive stress coping. Consequently, this study could be suggested as a basis for counseling and developing practical education program for active coping with stress.

This study carried out a survey targeting 202 students who finished their social work field practicum and took their course work in 2012, from 4 different universities in the northern Gyeonggi province & Seoul. As the result, in the area of stress, the highest rank was the lack of professional knowledge/skills, the second was the environment of field practicum, and the third was the burden of tasks that they had to perform. About the coping strategies, it was found that students utilized 'problem-solving focused' the most, pursuing 'social support' as the second, and 'avoidance' strategies as the least. Factors influencing on differences of stress level depending on field work experiences were whether they had previous field experience, how much time they participated in previous volunteer activities, whether they attended orientation for their field practicum, regularity/frequency of supervision, the satisfaction on their social work/welfare major, and the satisfaction on their field practicum or supervision. Based on the results, suggestions for development in field education system were presented.

The mean score for spirituality and stress of clinical practice were above medium level, with the value of 3.18 and 3.42 out of 5 respectively. There were significant mean differences in spirituality according to religion and satisfaction on major while those in stress of clinical practice according to sex and satisfaction on major. Significant negative correlation between spirituality and stress of clinical practice was found. In conclusion, to reduce clinical stress in nursing students, it is necessary to develop and apply educational program for spiritual improvement.

  • This study examined the spirituality of dental hygiene and students and examined whether it affects the stress that may occur during clinical practice. The research tool consisted, clinical practice stresses, and general characteristics. It was held from March to July 2019 for 280 dental hygienists and students in K area. T-test and ANOVA were conducted for differences in spirituality and clinical practice stress according to general characteristics. The correlation between spirituality and clinical stress was analyzed by Pearson corrlation coefficients. As a result, dental hygiene and clinical practice stress of students were negatively correlated with spirituality, major satisfaction, and academic performance. If the motivation to apply to the department was grade, the clinical practice stress was higher. The limitation of this study is that it is impossible to make a concrete comparison because previous studies on the spirituality of dental hygiene and students are insufficient. Therefore, various studies on spirituality and clinical practice stress for dental hygienists are needed, and strategic search will be needed.
