  • For areas installed with one pump, the trend for expected sizes of pump room areas is observed once pump power and floor dimensions are provided. However, these pump rooms with auxiliary charging pumps, turbine driven auxiliary feedwater pumps, and pump rooms with a separate valve room have unique ways to determine the pump room area. No definite trends are identified for areas installed with two pumps using pump power and floor dimensions. The relationship between pump power and floor dimensions is also unable to be found.

  • This paper presents an improvement of field uniformity in a reverberation chamber with QRDs(Quadratic Residue Diffuser) and also shows the optimal dimension of the QRDs. The QRD is designed for $1{\sim}3\;GHz$ frequency band and the FDTD(finite-Difference Time-Domain) method is used to analyze the field characteristics. At 2 GHz, the standard deviation of test volume in the reverberation chamber is the smallest when the QRD has $30{\sim}60\;%$ coverage of one side of the reverberation chamber and the field uniformity is worsened when the coverage of the QRD is either below 20 % or above 70 % of the area of the side wall. Particularly, the standard deviation of test volume in the reverberation chamber with 30 % coverage of QRD is improved by 1.53 dB compared to that of the reference chamber with no QRDs.

  • This study consists of five case studies of the catering facilities of newly-built elementary schools' in Sejong City, regarding the spatial configuration and allocation. The analysis indicated that the space allocated in the cooking area in the five schools compared to the standard was as follows: School A; 99.2%, B; 91.1%, C; 81.4%, D; 110.8%, E; 88.1%. Accordingly, the cooking area was close to, or slightly above the standard; nevertheless, other areas in the facilities were not allocated sufficient space and were not appropriately planned. Among the other findings, the receiving areas of three schools were not even planned, and the receiving works were carried out in the pre-preparation area. Considering the flow of the dish-washing process, the width of the room should be at least 3.6 meters with a passage width of 1.6 meters, and easy access to the cooking and dining areas must be equipped. An interview with all five supervisors showed that most complaints focused on the cooking and dishwashing areas, whereas there were none in the storage and workers' area. The result highlights the importance of the cooking and dishwashing areas as the main functions in catering facilities, and future planning strategies should consider this aspect.

  • This paper presents an improved field uniformity in a reverberation chamber, that can be alternatively used for the analysis and the measurement of electromagnetic interference and immunity, with a designed CRD(Cubical Residue Diffuser) that have various dimensions. The Schroeder type CRD is designed for $1\sim3$ GHz band and the FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain) method is used to analyze the field characteristics. At 2 GHz, the standard deviation of test volume in the reverberation chamber is the smallest and has a good field distribution with a CRD of $40\sim80%$ dimension of one side of the reverberation chamber. The Electric field uniformity gets worse when the dimension of a CRD is either below 40 % or above 80 % of the side wall. The result shows that the standard deviation of the test volume in the reverberation chamber with a CRD of 44 % dimension is improved by 1 dB compared with that of the reverberation chamber with a CRD of 100 % dimension.

  • This study is to analyze impact of geography and timing on the real transactions prices of apartment complexes in Seoul using data provided by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The average real transactions and location data of apartment complex was combined into the GIS data. First, the pattern of apartment real transaction price change by period and by area was analyzed by kriging, the one of the spatial interpolation technique. Second, to analyze the pattern of apartment market price change by administrative district(administrative 'Dong' unit), the average of market price per unit area was calculated and converted to Moran I value, which was used to analyze the clustering level of the real transaction price. Through the analysis, spatial-temporal distribution pattern can be found and the type of change can be forecasted. Therefore, this study can be referred as of the base data research for the housing or local policies. Also, the regional unbalanced apartment price can be presented by analyzing the vertical pattern of the change in the time series and the horizontal pattern of the change based on GIS.

  • Acoustic design parameters of a half-wave resonator are studied experimentally for acoustic stability in a model acoustic tube. According to standard acoustic-test procedures, acoustic-pressure signals are measured. Quantitative acoustic properties of sound absorption coefficient are evaluated and thereby, the acoustic damping capacity of the resonator is characterized. The diameter and the number of a half-wave resonator and the diameter of the tube are selected as design parameters for optimal tuning of the resonator. Optimum acoustic damping capacity is observed at smaller open area ratio as the resonator diameter increases.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of area and spatial elements according to the building size and provide the guidelines for space planning of the child care center. This study used the content analysis method and analysis was made on the floor plans for 51 cases and the floor plans were converted to Autocad drawings to analyze the area. The results of this study were as follows; 1) Child care centers over 70% were single-attached building types which made it possible for creating outdoor environments for children. However, most small-size centers which had under 50 children did not have the facilities for outdoor activities. 2) In terms of spatial elements, the basic spaces of the small-size center were the classroom, bathroom, kitchen, office and reference room. The medium or large size centers had extra rooms for special activities and service spaces in addition to the basic spaces. 3) Classroom area per child was 2.65 m2 on average. Space composition ratio on average for care, staff, and service was programmed by 57%, 9%, 34% respectively. Small-size center had relatively more care space when compared to the others. In the case of large-size centers, there was a tendency that service space was increased, but care space was decreased.
