  • In the architectural space of modem age, expanding to the vertical and horizontal direction for the interaction between space and space is becoming an indispensable factor, and in this expansion, ramps are being positioned as one of the important factors. With an increased use of ramps, they show a variety of changes in types, functions and even concepts. The space where modem ramps are used exhibits a phenomenon that accommodates and expands many functions as well as the confined function of moving people, and is widening the scope of recognition on the functions of ramp. In addition, this phenomenon can be seen as an architectural reflection on the complexation trend of the modem society, the components comprising a ramp contact the body of experiencers closely and thus have a direct effect on their behavior or feeling, and owing to this, it is a space where new functions and meaning are highly likely to be derived. In this study, spaces where ramps are used stay away from an element of uniform vertical movement but have an independent environment within the entire space, thereby being used as a space dominating the nature of the building, not a subsidiary element of it. In this study, therefore, it could be known that spaces in which ramps are used are different in their meaning according to the patterns, not as an element of uniform vertical movement. In addition, these conclusions are the results by analyzing the patterns of ramps taking place in modem spaces and are thought to be helpful in understanding spaces where ramps are used.

  • The built-in kitchen that is seen in every household is one of the achievements of the modernism architecture in early 20th century. Developed on the basis of two axis, one of which is the high industrialization and the other the sceptical assessment on the traditional value-system, the 20th century was launched in the form of the twofold entanglement, through the unfolding of which the cultural code of the modernism could be operated. The Quantification of the psychic that was attempted by H. v. Helmholtz and E. Mach in the pursuit of the reunification of sensation to the normal science was the first thread of that, while the second the break-down of the authoritative ideology and the emancipation of woman labour, which were initiated by the leftist movements. In this situation Margarete Schutte-Lihotzky was the woman architect who has tried to overcome the patriarchism in the household through architectural work by dwelling on that the emancipation of the housewives from the inefficient household labour is directly connected with the accomplishment of human freedom. She applied the modernist functionalism to the designing the kitchen for that purpose and outlined the effective range and operational realm of the rationalization. After all this the future preoccupying endeavor became the decisive moment that gave birth to a aesthetically and functionally good deliberated design of the kitchen in the present. This study is purposed to actualize the architectural ideas of Lihotzky into the present context through the consideration on the Frankfurt Kitchen of her and to grope for the relationship between architecture and feminism on the common horizon of the functionalist architecture and the women's liberation.

  • Friedensreich Hundertwasser , born in Vienna 1928, is a painter, an architect and an environmentalist. His architecture is radically different from the traditional , straight -lined, functional architecture practised, for example, by the Bauhaus Masters. From the very beginning , he has tried by various means to show that radical change in thinking are necessary , possible and realized. Hundertwasser's goal in this architecture is to make and give human dwelling in harmony with nature. his architecture is characterized by avoidance of straight lines, " Window Right", irregular arrangement of windows, onion dom, a wealth of colours and such environmentally -friendly consideration as planting of roofs and realizing of "tree-tenants". hundertwasser sees houses as evolving creations which are to be shaped by their inhabitants. He hates Uniformity. The irregularity is always the guiding principle in his architecture. The Hundertwasser's architeucture express his fundamental belief that we may not simply rob nature of her resources, but that we must also return territory to nature which we habe stolen from her. Roofs, terraces and courtyards planted with vegetation and " tree-tenants" build bridges between man and nature. They influse the architecture with vitality and romanticism and are a statement of a quality rather than a standard of living. It is quite possible to value the architecture of Hundertwasser as an important inspiration, as a sort of turning point in the thoughts and actions of city planners. It's success could be healing shock for the international architectural community, which is hypnotized by technology and abused by the shortsighted interests of ren.tability . Under this pressure, today's architects trend to reduce people to a mere part of the " Dwelling machine", without acknowledging that in the long run such machines eat away at people's souls.uch machines eat away at people's souls.

  • In Ubiquitous era. architecture is not the old building adapting ubiquitous technology. In order to take the role as new architectural paradigm in space, environment and technology, it has to develop technology continuously and experimental architecture at the same time. it must have co-evolution of architectural field and others through organic network. by that, the evolution of space will be in the way that combines space which is responded to human emotion and user-centric human-friendly. It will be the new paradigm of Ubiquitous digital space. Digital technology resulted in a change to a society as well as to the life of human and its way of thinking. Due to those changes, new terms or concepts come out and a new meaning is added to the conventional concepts. This aims to examine type of spatial contexts for interaction design experience. This study is performed through Literature research for theory by interactive space and case studies for construction elements to design. The range of case study is limited to interaction space in addition of interactive elements and user interface. And analysis conclusion is show the many type, First, Interactive space has special purpose for make a interaction by intelligent elements.(sensor, program, algorithm, New-technology) Second, Interactive space was cooperation with various professional for space purpose. Third. Interactive space is self-develop by algorithm, program, sensor network and that is harmonize with user. finally. • The purpose of this study is to reveal the space composition of fireplace and common features of both Prairie and Usonian House found within Wingspread House. This house is the last and largest Prairie house and zoned house built in a Usonian period. However, this house is not an independent work, but rather Wright's evolutionary experiments of fireplace from his early works and his pursuit of Usonian ideal. This paper can be summarized as follows: 1) Living room has been transformed to allow spatial continuity towards exterior view and access and between neighboring rooms by removing doors and inglenook. At the Wingspread house Wright has introduced a freestanding fireplace in a living room with higher and prominent roof structure, therefore the space became a focal point as well as the central space of the entire house. 2) Wingspread and Coonley house have gallery space in common, but they have different settings in the living room composition. Also the living room and gallery space of Wingspread and Usonian houses have prospect and refuge principle by expansion and compression. 3) Wingspread house is a successful combination of Prairie and Usonian style to meet client's requirements in space composition and Wright's technology and economical experiments. This study is intended to reevaluate the significance of this house bridging his two great residential periods.

  • Since the accomplishment of industrialization and mechanization, human and the nature have gone farther their own way. Human depending on technology have been increasingly expanding and developing their artificial space and as times go by in such a way, estrangement between the human and nature has resulted in dissatisfaction of human's instinctual desire and devastation of human's living. People, to deal with such challenge, begins taking a look at the nature. In introducing the nature into the modern architecture, a physical natural element is often directly taken into or the shape that could be inferred from the nature is taken. The study was intended to identify the characteristics of the pattern introducing the nature into the modern architecture, as mentioned in the former case, which is summarized as follows, Introduction of the nature contains a variety of functions in the space and it creates the new space by integrating the internal and external space which becomes boundaryless integrated space. The boundary in the building tends to be getting more ambiguous, while the space accommodating the nature serves the interface, playing a role of intermediator for both the internal and external space. It functions the open public place that helps build the natural community among the users but taking the nature into the inner space, and it is used to attempt to change the interior of the building or for ventilation lighting or energy-saving purpose. The spatial meaning was found to have varied depending on pattern of the nature introduced. Such conclusions mentioned hereon is expected to help forecast and understand the forthcoming space accommodating the nature when reviewing the pattern of introducing the nature appeared In modern architecture.

  • Man has an unconscious desire to free oneself from everyday selves and a strong intellectual desire to see and analyze things in a different perspective. This provided a momentum for architectural design that has long been confined to its limits of modernism of being rational and objective. The ever-changing society that we live in filled with various attempts and pluralistic characteristics shows a complex set of attributes that can hardly be defined by a single term. As society moves towards an uncertain and volatile state, the boundary between literature, philosophy and art has dimmed out and converged. Such tendencies have been observable in recent establishments in architecture in the form of introducing external elements and create an alien and farfetched architectural space. Using the 'depaysement' defamiliarization method expressing irrationality and randomness, it is applied in various aspects, sharing the counter-rational structure and features of such architectural space. Hence, it is the purpose of this study to delve into the unique characteristics of depaysement through Magritte's work which reflects the unique pictorial world built under the influence of surrealism, and discover the $D\acute{e}paysement$ tendencies in modern architectural space. It is apparent in Modern architecture that, owing to the development in digital technology, it is showing process changes in design and an interfacial $D\acute{e}paysement$ effect in cyberspace, an interlace of reality and the virtual world. In this study, the focus of analysis was architectural properties such as the program, figure/spatial, material and the objective side, but due to mutual text properties, it is bound to be an overlapping analysis.

  • The purpose of this study is to closely analyze the case of blended-learning in order to provide a diverse and flexible learning environment while maintaining the nature of face-to-face classes, and to identify the learning environment that supports blended-learning in each class step and the educational experience of students. The experience and satisfaction of blended learning were investigated in various ways: course evaluation, LMS activity evaluation, and questionnaire before and after the class. As a result, the blended-learning is better than the traditional face-to-face classes, in providing real-time feedback, opportunities for various interactions, and textual conversations, anytime and anywhere. In addition, as a result of the preliminary survey, as a measure to solve the opinion that concentration was reduced due to problems such as networks and felt uncomfortable in the communication part, the theory and lectures of the design practice class were conducted non-face-to-face. The individual Q&A and feedback were conducted face-to-face and non-face-to-face. As a result of the follow-up survey, it was found that concentration and efficiency could be improved. This opens up possibilities for active use of the online environment in design practice classes.

  • This study suggested practical application of climate design on apartment complex with the focus on the use of Cold Air Flow and green building design method. The domestic research on the wind path analysis has been associated since the early 21th century in urban planning and site planning, this initiative study aimed to mitigate the urban heat island effect and to promote the sustainable urban development. It is, however, mostly focused on the flow analysis and heat flow in the urban context, due to the poor application of the wind path analysis in actual planning and design. Special attention is paid to the possibilities of identifying and developing the application methods in relation to Cold Air Flow and building design. This study examined these relations and suggested some trenchant approach to a more comprehensive and efficient use of the wind flow analysis in climate design.
