  • When the new highway is opened, the new highway has alternative or linkage relationship with current highway networks. This change will lead to the different traffic patterns which can also lead to the change of toll revenue in other surrounding highways. This study investigates the change of revenue on the current highway networks caused by the new highway opening under the unified revenue system. Moreover, this study calculates the effectiveness of the revenue fluctuation when the highway system is under controlled by the public or private institution and proposes the meaning of the revenue fluctuation to those institutions. This study also proposes an index of revenue change that could be used to reflect the individual project evaluation and set the priority between multiple projects. Some limitations and future research agenda have also been discussed.

  • This study proposes new fashion brand evaluation criteria. In developing the criteria, we emphasize the following considerations: first, the object of the evaluation should be the brand rather than the products or store second, the "new" brand should be the "new" brand from the consumer's perspective finally, only fashion brands available in department store are included to examine the relationship between evaluation criteria and consumers' relationship quality perception with a department store. Our data analysis of an online survey panel sample of 537 female consumers produced six new fashion brand evaluation criteria: merchandise power, in-store communication, brand/company image, salesperson, VMD, and assortment variety. New fashion brand evaluation criteria factors include both brand attributes and store attributes. Brand-related evaluation criteria are merchandise power, assortment variety, and brand/company images, whereas store-related criteria are VMD, salesperson, and in-store communication. The associations among brand evaluation criteria, brand attitudes, and the consumers' relationship quality with department store were tested by regression analysis.

  • Collaborative Filtering (CF) suffers from two major problems:sparsity and cold-start recommendation. This paper focuses on the cold-start problem for new customers with no purchase records and the sparsity problem for the customers with very few purchase records. For the purpose, we propose a method for the new customer recommendation by using a combined measure based on three well-used centrality measures to identify the customers who are most likely to become neighbors of the new customer. To alleviate the sparsity problem, we also propose a hybrid approach that applies our method to customers with very few purchase records and CF to the other customers with sufficient purchases. To evaluate the effectiveness of our method, we have conducted several experiments using a data set from a department store in Korea. The experiment results show that the combination of two measures makes better recommendations than not only a single measure but also the best-seller-based method and that the performance is improved when applying the hybrid approach.

  • This is a convergence study to investigate the factors affecting the job stress of new nurses. The subjects of this study were 170 nurses and collected data by self-reported questionnaire. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, indepentent t-test, ANOVA, correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of this research were the explanatory power was 57.2% with emotional labor, interpersonal relationship and turnover intention on job stress. As a result, it was confirmed that strengthening emotional labor management ability, interpersonal relationship ability and turnover intention was important to reduce job stress. It is necessary to study repeatedly the predictors of job stress through objective measurement.

  • This study aims to examine the effect of coaching leadership on reality shock and organizational commitment of new nurses in general hospitals. Data were analyzed through the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Standard Multiple Regression. Regression analysis proved relevance of the organizational commitment model (F=6.17, p<.001), and coaching leadership had 39.2% explanatory power on reality shock. The results of the study showed that coaching leadership lowers reality shock and boosts organizational commitment of new nurses. This study provides necessary background knowledge of human and material resource management to alleviate the reality shock and help vocational adaptation to reduce turnover rates of new nurses. Hence, with such results, this study aims to provide basic information on future coaching leadership research and coaching leader defense program developments.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of new nurse's resilience, emotional labor, and organizational socialization on clinical competence. Method: The subjects were 182 new nurses. The IBM SPSS 23.0 program was used for data analysis with the significance level set at .05. Results: Clinical competence was significantly different according to the number of nurses, hospitals where practiced, and nurse image (p <.05). Clinical competence showed a significant correlation with resilience (r = .50) and emotional labor (r = .62) (p <.001). Significant factors influencing clinical competence of new nurses were resilience(β = .567) and emotional labor(β = .332), with a total explanatory power of 50.5% (p <.001). Conclusion: There is a need for a program to improve the clinical competence of new nurses considering influencing factors.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the intention to stay, field adaptation, and educational demands between the new nurses and reemployment nurses. This research was done to create a base for a program that will improve field adaptation, and to prevent dropping out or moving. The followings are the results; There was a significant difference in the intention to stay of the 48 new nurses and 48 reemployment nurses (t = -2.10, p = .038), but there was no significant difference in field adaptation between the two groups (t = -1.48, p = .142 ). Finally, the subjects responded with the topics they would most like to learn about emergency patient care. Through the above results, this study provide basic data for developing a program that can enhance the intention to stay in hospital.

Methods: This study was a qualitative study using phenomenological research method and used data obtained from semi-structured in-depth interviews with 9 newly graduated nurses under 12 months of employment in tertiary general hospitals. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's method. Results: As a result of analyzing the experiences of newly graduated nurses' resilience, there were totally 86 meaningful statements, 13 themes were derived from them, and they were integrated into 4 theme clusters. The four theme clusters were 'Acknowledging shortcomings and developing oneself', 'Enduring and tolerating', 'Support from people around oneself', and 'Freshening and sublimating oneself'. Conclusion: Understanding and enhancing the resilience of new nurses will help them improve nursing professionalism and reduce turnover due to reduced work stress.

  • Seoul public bike program facilitates access to bicycles and offers potential for greater mobility and health for users. Furthermore, it would have positive impacts on transport congestion, energy use, and the environment. Hence, it is important to find future rental locations by taking to account both bike-demand and regional imbalance. This paper first finds eligible candidates of rental locations with the required spatial conditions such as a sufficient sidewalk width and accessibility of bike pick-up vehicles. And then, estimates public bike daily usage for each selected location via random forest based on Seoul public bike historical usage, Seoul geographical features, regional characteristics, and populations. This study contributes to a better comprehension of the Seoul public bike program, and would be useful in determining new public bike rental locations.
