Design of EUT test equipment for EMC Testing (EMC 시험을 위한 EUT 시험장비 설계)

  • For the EMC test, the radiation characteristics and immunity characteristics of the EUT are measured under the condition that the EUT maintains its normal operation. For normal operation of the EUT, it is necessary to operate the EUT and monitor its status through separate equipment outside the anechoic chamber. External equipment operates and monitors the EUT through various communications such as 1553B communication, RS-485 communication, and Ethernet communication. At this time, external equipment can transmit noise through the communication line. This noise is transmitted to the LISN through the connected power cable and measured. It is also radiated through the connection terminal to the LISN. In this case, the communication line is the power line It should be designed so that noise is not transmitted through electromagnetic isolation as much as possible. In addition, noise from external equipment must be suppressed as much as possible from entering the chamber through the communication line. In this paper, external EUT test equipment applied for EMC test It explains the considerations in the design and manufacture of the design and explains the satisfaction of the design through tests including CE and RE.

  • Thermal vacuum test should be performed prior to launch to verify satellites' functionality in a harsh space environment which is represented by extremely cold temperatures and vacuum conditions. A thermal vacuum chamber which consists of a vacuum vessel, a pumping system, and a thermal control system are used to perform thermal vacuum tests of a satellite system and its components. A cryogenic blower is a core component of the closed loop thermal control system for thermal vacuum chambers. This paper describes the fan design of the cryogenic blower, the design of the thermal protection interface between the driving part and the fluid part, which were verified by thermal and structural analyses. The performance of the cryogenic blower is confirmed by similarity test on the test bench.

A Study on the Parameters for Icing Airworthiness Flight Tests of Surion Military Helicopter (수리온 군용헬기의 결빙 감항인증 비행시험을 위한 파라미터 고찰)

  • In order to relieve limitation of flight operation under icing condition and verify its operation in adverse weather condition for Surion, military helicopter developed in Korea, airworthiness certification in icing condition is required. The process of Surion icing certification should be considered by implementation of four methods by step such as CFD analysis, simulated flight tests, artificial icing flight tests, and natural icing flight tests. For Surion icing flight tests, these are required 20~30 sorties and 20~23 hours in artificial icing condition; 20~30 sorties and 20~22 hours in natural icing condition. In addition, to proceed with efficient flight tests, it is necessary to implement artificial icing flight tests in LWC $0.5{\sim}1.0g/m^3;$ natural icing flight tests in less than LWC $0.5g/m^3$.

  • A study on the variation of combustion characteristics by injector geometries was conducted. Coaxial swirl injectors were used. Existence of swirl chamber and variation of a nozzle length become key parameters. Injectors were identified as open, closed and mixed type by existence of swirl chamber. Variation of nozzle length was made extruding the both nozzle along the axis while other design parameters remain the same. A uni-element combustor with ablative material liner and a water cooled nozzle made by oxygen free copper with outer stainless steel casing were used.

Structural Analysis of Liquid Rocket Thrust Chamber Regenerative Cooling Channel using Bodner-Partom Viscoplastic Model (Bodner-Partom 점소성 모델을 이용한 액체로켓 연소기 재생냉각 채널 구조해석)

  • Elastic-viscoplastic structural analysis has been performed for regenerative cooling chamber of liquid rocket thrust chamber using Bodner-Partom visco-plastic model. Strain rate test was conducted for a copper alloy at various temperatures in order to get material constants of visco-plastic model used in the structural analysis. Material constants of visco-plastic model were obtained from strain rate test results and visco-plastic model was incorporated into finite element program, Marc, by means of a user subroutine. The structural analysis results indicated that the deformation of cooling channel is mostly caused by thermal loading rather than pressure loading and confirmed structural stability of the cooling channel under the operating condition.

  • An experiment about performance characteristics is conducted on a double chamber vane-type rotor. Three different rotors, which have 6, 8 and 9 vanes, are applied to the driver and various lift holes at the rear plate are used to increase the effective vane height. The inner diameter of a double chamber cylinder is ${\phi}27mm$, and the length of the cylinder is 65 mm. The maximum offset length between the rotor outer surface and the cylinder inner surface is 4.5 mm. In this study, specific output torques and powers are measured, and also noise and vibration are measured at the real operating situation. The operating torque on the double chamber is increased to 17% compared to the operating torque obtained at the single chamber which has the same size. The experimental results of noise and vibration show that the operating sound and vibration are directly related to the operating power generated by the double chamber rotor.

  • 본 논문은 유연한 영상표시 장치에 응용될 수 있는 중공음극방전 소사(hollow cathode discharge device)를 마이크로머시닝기술로 제작하고 시험한 결과를 보여준다. 중공음극방전은 평판음극방전에 비해서 전류밀도가 큰 장점이 있다. 방전 소자는 유연한 구조의 양극과 음극, 그리고 그 사이의 절연층으로 구성되어 있으면 소자의 크기는 $20mm{\times}10mm$이다. 방전이 일어나는 영역은 관통 구멍으로서 $7{\times}11$개가 배열되어 있고, 구멍의 직경은 $70{\mu}m$이다. 실리콘 기판 위에 SU-8 몰드를 형성한 후 니켈 전기도금으로 음극을 제작한다. 그 위에 폴리이미드를 스핀코팅하여 절연층을 이루고, 열증착으로 알루미늄 양극을 제작한 후, 실리콘과 SU-8을 제거하여 방전 소자를 완성한다. 진공챔버내 아르곤 가스 분위기에서 소자의 두 전극 간 전압을 변화시켜 가면서 전류-전압 특성을 측정하였고, 방전상태를 관찰하였다. 챔버 내의 절대압력이 260mmHg이고 인가전압이 230V 정도일 때 안정 방전이 관찰되었다

Waterhammer in the Transmission Pipeline with an Air Chamber (에어챔버가 설치된 송수관로에서의 수격현상)

  • The field tests on the waterhammer were carried out in the pump pipeline system with an air chamber. The effects of the input variables and the design parameters for the air chamber were investigated by both the numerical calculations and the experiments. Because the waterhammer problems as a result of the pump power failure were the most important, these situations were carefully studied. Among the input variables used in the waterhammer analysis, the polytropic exponent, the discharge coefficient and the wavespeed had influence on the simulated results in that order, and were calibrated in comparison with the experimental results. As the initial air volume in a vessel increased, the period of waterhammer increased and the pressure variation decreased, resulting from the reduction of the rate of pressure change in the air chamber. Using smaller orifice in the bypass pipe, the pressure rise was suppressed in some degree and the pressure surge was dissipated more rapidly as time passed. The simulations were in fairly good agreement with the measured values until 1∼2 periods of waterhammer. Not only the maximum and minimum pressures in the pipe1ine but also those occurring times were reasonably predicted. The computer program developed in this study will be useful in designing the optimum parameters of an air chamber for the real pump pipeline system.

A Study on Isothermal Adsorption of VOCs onto Gypsum Mortar Incorporating Oyster Shell (굴패각 모르타르에의 휘발성 유기화합물 흡착에 대한 연구)

  • VOCs such as formaldehyde and benzene in a control chamber were adsorbed onto gypsum incorporating oyster shell powder, which was solidified and dried. VOC was first exposed in air and then gypsum mortar was placed in the chamber for 180 min for adsorption. The mortar was prepared with 0, 10, 30, and 50% of oyster shell powder. Two initial concentrations of VOCs including formaldehyde were $27.7{\sim}28.5mg/m^3$ or $175{\sim}150{\mu}g/m^3$. We found out that the initial concentrations did not seem to make any difference in adsorption performance but higher oyster content strongly led to higher adsorption. We used a convection-diffusion-adsorption model to compare the experiment. The model which considers diffusion coefficients of adsorbates and affinity of the adsorbents well represented the experimental data with a fair agreement.

E-Beam 증착에 의해 제작된 다층형 Al-Mg 코팅층의 특성 관찰

  • 본 연구에서는 e-beam 증착을 이용하여 Al, Mg 단일 금속으로 다층형 Al-Mg 코팅층을 제조하여 특성 분석 및 내식성을 평가하였다. Al-Mg 코팅층은 99.99%의 Al, 99.9%의 Mg grain을 사용하여 E-Beam 가열을 통해 냉연강판 위에 코팅하였다. 증발물질과 기판과의 거리는 48 cm이며, 기판은 세척을 실시한 후 진공 챔버에 장착하고 ~10-5 Torr 까지 진공배기를 실시하였다. 진공챔버가 기본 압력까지 배기되면 아르곤 가스를 주입하고 기판홀더에 800 V의 직류 전압을 인가하여 약 30분간 글로우 방전 청정을 실시하였다. 기판의 청정이 끝나면 아르곤 가스를 차단하고 코팅층의 구성형태에 따라 Al 또는 Mg을 코팅하였다. 다층형 Al-Mg 코팅층은 2층에서 최대 6층까지 제조하였으며 $3{\mu}m$의 두께를 기준으로 Al과 Mg 코팅층의 두께비가 각각 1:1 과 2:1이 되도록 코팅하였다. 6층 이상에서는 코팅층의 두께 제어가 쉽지 않기 때문에 층수는 6층으로 제한하였다.다층형 Al-Mg 코팅층을 주사전자현미경으로 관찰한 결과, Al-Mg 코팅층간의 계면을 관찰할 수 있었다. 또한 글로우방전분광기로 Al-Mg 코팅층을 관찰한 결과, Al과 Mg 코팅층이 균일한 다층 구조를 형성하고 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 다층의 Al-Mg가 코팅된 강판을 염수분무시험을 통해서 내부식 특성을 확인하였다. Al-Mg 코팅 강판의 염수분무시험 결과, Al-Mg 코팅층의 층수가 증가할 수록 내부식 특성이 향상되는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이러한 현상은 Al-Mg 코팅층이 다층으로 형성되어 있어 부식 생성물을 효과적으로 차단하여 강판의 부식을 방지한 것으로 판단된다.
