Seismic Fragility of Sewage Pipes Considering Site Response in Korean, Seoul Site (국내 서울지역의 부지응답해석을 고려한 하수도관의 지진취약도)

  • The number of damaged lifeline structures have been increasing with urban acceleration under earthquakes. To predict the damage, damage mitigation technology of lifeline structures should be analyzed using damage prediction technology. Therefore, in this paper, the degree of the fragility of structures under an earthquake was evaluated stochastically through an evaluation of the seismic fragility. The aim was to develop damage prediction technology of sewage pipes among the lifeline facilities. The site response was performed using the data from 158 boreholes in Seoul and 7 real earthquake waves to determine the responses in real urban areas. The seismic fragility was deduced through a total of 29822 time history analysis. In addition, sewer pipes were evaluated and the persisting period was passed by applying the research results of strength reduction which is due to sulphate erosion. As a result, the difference in failure probability between 300 and 800 with the smaller diameter of the representative pipes was approximately double and the size of the pipes has a significant effect on the seismic fragility function. Moreover, the failure probability of a seismic load increases by up to 10 fold as the strength reduction rate increases. The results of this study can be used as a means of predicting the damage and countermeasures of sewer pipes and might be reflected in the seismic design of underground facilities.

A Study on the Construction Plan of 3D Geotechnical Information for the Support of Underground Space Safety (지하안전관리 지원을 위한 3차원 지반정보 구축 방안 연구)

  • Recently, mainly in downtown, there have been frequent safety incidents in underground space like ground subsidence and land sinking. Out of diverse coping measures, the government is carrying forward the establishment of underground space integrated map. As a core element of the underground space integrated map, the 3D geotechnical information is used as major data of underground space impact assessment obliged in accordance with the "Special Act on the Safety Control of Underground Space Safety". The construction method of 3D geotechnical information is drawn when establishing the basic establishment plan of underground space integrated map, and the continuous construction is performed by the Integrated DB Center of National Geotechnical Information. However, it is necessary to draw concrete measures with accuracy, efficiency, and utilization. This study drew the construction plan considering the accuracy, utilization, and efficiency of 3D geotechnical information for the support of underground space safety. For this, accuracy between elevation and underground level is compared using MVS and MakeJiban which are software to construct boring information with geotechnical information in geotechnical information portal system. In the results of general analysis, the milepost-based construction of whole strata in a lump would be the most suitable in the aspect of accuracy, utilization, and efficiency. Based on the results of this study, Plan to construct 3D geotechnical information will be pursued.

Fuzzy Logic Based Modeling of an Incident Detection Algorithm (퍼지이론을 이용한 유고감지 알고리즘)

  • 본 논문은 다이아몬드 인터체인지에서의 유고감지모형 개발을 위해 퍼지이론을 응용한 연구를 문서화 한 것이다. 지금까지의 교차로와 일반도로(고속도로가 아닌)에서의 유고감지에 관한 연구는 초기에 불과하다. 기존의 알고리즘들은 필요한 데이터 보존의 어 려움과 유고감지의 특성과 관련된 기술적 어려움을 효과적으로 극복하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 다이아몬드 인터체인지에서의 유고감지를 위한 새로운 모형을 개발하는데 있다. 이 연구를 통하여 개발된 유고감지 모형은 차량차단 유고(lane-blocking incidents) 를 감지하는데, 감지의 범위는 차량차단 유고의 경향이 교통 장황에 특정한 패턴을 형성 하고 그에 따른 신호제어전략의 조정이 요구될 때에 국한된다. 이 모형은 전통적인 통계 치를 이용한 유고감지감 고유의 문제를 해결하며, 보다 정확하고 신뢰성 있는 유고감지를 위해 다양한 교통변수를 이용하여 전체적인 유고의 경향을 포착한다. 또한 이 모형은 실 시간 교통대응 다이아몬드 인터체인지 신호제어 시스템 (real-time traffic adaptive diamond interchange control system)의 구성요소로써 사용되며, 그리고 더 큰 교차로 시스템에의 상용을 위하여 확장이 용역하도록 설계되었다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 프로 토타입(prototype) 유고감지 모형은 실제의 다이아몬드 인터체인지에 적용되어, 감지율, 오보율, 평감지시간의 세 달로써 성능이 평가되었다. 모형의 성능평가 결과는 무적이었으 며, 퍼지이론은 유고감지에 효과적인 접근방법임을 확인할 수 있었다.투자의 타당성을 실증적으로 보여 주고 있다.산정 절차 정립에 엇갈림 알고리즘을 활용하는 방안을 제시하였다.자함수를 추정한 뒤 이를 이용해 업종, 기업규모, 상품유형별로 적합한 모델(Fixed Effects Model)을 결정하고, 각각에 해당하는 통계모형을 구축하였다. 이 결과 (1) 업종 및 기업규모별로 그룹간에 유의한 특성이 발견되었으며, (2) R&D 및 광고투자는 기업의 시장성과를 설명하는 중요한 변수이나, (3) R&D 투자의 경우는 광고에 비해 불확실성이 존재하는 것으로 나타났고, (4) 수리모형에서 도출된 한계원리가 통계모형에서도 유효한 것으로 드러났다.등을 토대로 한 10대 산업을 육성하기 위하여 과학기술부는 기술수요조사를 바탕으로 49개 주요기술을 도출하여, 과학기술 일류 국가 실현, 국민소득 2만불 달성이라는 국가적 슬로건을 내걸고 “차세대 성장동력” 창출을 위한 범정부차원의 기획과 연구비의 집중투자를 추진하고 있다.달성하기 위해서는 종합류류 전산망의 시급한 구축과 함께 화물차의 적재율을 높이고 공차율을 낮출 수 있는 운송체계의 수립이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 그라나 이러한 화물전용차선의 효과는 단기적인 치유책일 수밖에 없기 때문에 물류유통 시설의 확충을 위한 사회간접자본의 구축을 서둘러 시행하여야 할 것이다.으로 처리한 Machine oil, Phenthoate EC 및 Trichlorfon WP는 비교적 약효가 낮았다.>$^{\circ}$E/$\leq$30$^{\circ}$NW 단열군이 연구지역 내에서 지하수 유동성이 가장 높은 단열군으로 추정된다. 이러한 사실은 3개 시추공을 대상으로 실시한

A Study on Field Seismic Data Processing using Migration Velocity Analysis (MVA) for Depth-domain Velocity Model Building (심도영역 속도모델 구축을 위한 구조보정 속도분석(MVA) 기술의 탄성파 현장자료 적용성 연구)

  • Migration velocity analysis (MVA) for creating optimum depth-domain velocities in seismic imaging was applied to marine long-offset multi-channel data, and the effectiveness of the MVA approach was demonstrated by the combinations of conventional data processing procedures. The time-domain images generated by conventional time-processing scheme has been considered to be sufficient so far for the seismic stratigraphic interpretation. However, when the purpose of the seismic imaging moves to the hydrocarbon exploration, especially in the geologic modeling of the oil and gas play or lead area, drilling prognosis, in-place hydrocarbon volume estimation, the seismic images should be converted into depth domain or depth processing should be applied in the processing phase. CMP-based velocity analysis, which is mainly based on several approximations in the data domain, inherently contains errors and thus has high uncertainties. On the other hand, the MVA provides efficient and somewhat real-scale (in depth) images even if there are no logging data available. In this study, marine long-offset multi-channel seismic data were optimally processed in time domain to establish the most qualified dataset for the usage of the iterative MVA. Then, the depth-domain velocity profile was updated several times and the final velocity-in-depth was used for generating depth images (CRP gather and stack) and compared with the images obtained from the velocity-in-time. From the results, we were able to confirm the depth-domain results are more reasonable than the time-domain results. The spurious local minima, which can be occurred during the implementation of full waveform inversion, can be reduced when the result of MVA is used as an initial velocity model.

Skin Friction and End Bearing Resistances of Rock-socketed Piles Observed in Bi-directional Pile Load Tests (양방향 재하시험 결과를 이용한 암반소켓 현장타설말뚝의 주면 마찰력과 선단 지지력)

  • In this paper, the empirical relations of skin friction and end bearing resistance with the results of site investigation in soft rock are proposed through the analysis of bi-directional pile load tests of rock socketed drilled shafts performed at large offshore bridge foundations and high-rise building projects (13 test piles in 4 projects). The site investigation and drilling for bi-directional pile load tests were performed at the centers of test piles, and f-w curves for skin friction and q-w curves for end bearing were plotted based on load-transfer measurements. From the above curves, the empirical relations of skin friction and end bearing resistance with the results of site investigation depending on the mobilized displacement are determined by multiple regression analysis and compared with previous studies. Since the f-w and q-w curves of rock-socketed piles in Korea show hardening behavior according to mobilized displacement, the developed empirical relations by the mobilized displacement are more reasonable than those of previous studies which could not consider the mobilized displacement and suggested the ultimate capacity with unconfined compressive strength only. Particularly, the developed equations correlated with unconfined compressive strength show the best correlations among the equations correlated with other parameters.

Correlations of Earthquake Accelerations and LPIs for Liquefaction Risk Mapping in Seoul & Gyeonggi-do Area based on Artificial Scenarios (서울, 경기지역의 시나리오별 액상화 위험지도 작성을 위한 지진가속도와 LPI 상관관계 분석)

  • On November 15, 2017, a unpredictable liquefaction damage was occurred at the $M_L=5.4$ Pohang earthquake and after, many researches have been conducted in Korea. In Korea, where there were no cases of earthquake damage, it has been extremely neglectable in preparing earthquake risk maps and building earthquake systems that corresponded to prevention and preparation. Since it is almost impossible to observe signs and symptoms of drought, floods, and typhoons in advance, it is very effective to predict the impacts and magnitudes of seismic events. In this study, 14,040 borehole data were collected in the metropolitan area and liquefaction evaluation was performed using the amplification factor. Based on this data, liquefaction hazard maps were prepared for ground accelerations of 0.06 g, 0.14 g, 0.22 g, and 0.30 g, including 200years return period to 4,800years return period. Also, the correlation analysis between the earthquake acceleration and LPI was carried out to draw a real-time predictable liquefaction hazard map. As a result, 707 correlation equations in every cells in GIS map were proposed. Finally, the simulation for liquefaction risk mapping against artificial earthquake was performed in the metropolitan area using the proposed correlation equations.

Inspection Method Validation of Grouting Effect on an Agricultural Reservoir Dam (농업용 저수지 제체에서의 그라우팅 주입효과 확인방법의 검증)

  • Physical, mechanical, hydraulic, and geophysical tests were applied to validate methods of inspecting the effectiveness of grouting on an agricultural reservoir dam. Data obtained from series of in situ and laboratory tests considered four stages: before grouting; during grouting; immediately after grouting; and after aging the grouting for 28 days. The results of SPT and triaxial tests, including the unit weight, compressive strength, friction angle, cohesion, and N-value, indicated the extent of ground improvement with respect to grout injection. However, they sometimes contained errors caused by ground heterogeneity. Hydraulic conductivity obtained from in situ variable head permeability testing is most suitable for identifying the effectiveness of grouting because the impermeability of the ground increased immediately after grouting. Electric resistivity surveying is useful for finding a saturated zone and a seepage pathway, and multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW) is suitable for analyzing the effectiveness of grouting, as elastic velocity increases distinctly after grouting injection. MASW also allows calculation from the P- and S- wave velocities of dynamic properties (e.g., dynamic elastic modulus and dynamic Poisson's ratio), which can be used in the seismic design of dam structures.

MLP-based 3D Geotechnical Layer Mapping Using Borehole Database in Seoul, South Korea (MLP 기반의 서울시 3차원 지반공간모델링 연구)

  • Recently, the demand for three-dimensional (3D) underground maps from the perspective of digital twins and the demand for linkage utilization are increasing. However, the vastness of national geotechnical survey data and the uncertainty in applying geostatistical techniques pose challenges in modeling underground regional geotechnical characteristics. In this study, an optimal learning model based on multi-layer perceptron (MLP) was constructed for 3D subsurface lithological and geotechnical classification in Seoul, South Korea. First, the geotechnical layer and 3D spatial coordinates of each borehole dataset in the Seoul area were constructed as a geotechnical database according to a standardized format, and data pre-processing such as correction and normalization of missing values for machine learning was performed. An optimal fitting model was designed through hyperparameter optimization of the MLP model and model performance evaluation, such as precision and accuracy tests. Then, a 3D grid network locally assigning geotechnical layer classification was constructed by applying an MLP-based bet-fitting model for each unit lattice. The constructed 3D geotechnical layer map was evaluated by comparing the results of a geostatistical interpolation technique and the topsoil properties of the geological map.

A Method of Developing a Ground Layer with Risk of Ground Subsidence based on the 3D Ground Modeling (3차원 지반모델링 기반의 지반함몰 위험 지반 레이어 개발 방법)

  • The deterioration of underground facilities, disturbance of the ground due to underground development activities, and changes in ground water can cause ground subsidence accidents in the urban areas. The investigation on the geotechnical and hydraulic factors affecting the ground subsidence accident is very significant to predict the ground subsidence risk in advance. In this study, an analysis DB was constructed through 3D ground modeling to utilize the currently operating geotechnical survey information DB and ground water behavior information for risk prediction. Additionally, using these results, the relationship between the actual ground subsidence occurrence history and ground conditions and ground water level changes was confirmed. Furthermore, the methodology used to visualize the risk of ground subsidence was presented by reconstructing the engineering characteristics of the soil presented according to the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) in the existing geotechnical survey information into the internal erosion sensitivity of the soil, Based on the result, it was confirmed that the ground in the area where the ground subsidence occurred consists of more than 40% of sand (SM, SC, SP, SW) vulnerable to internal erosion. In addition, the effect of the occurrence frequency of ground subsidence due to the change in ground water level is also confirmed.

A Case Study on the Cause Analysis of Land creep Using Geophysical Exploration (물리탐사를 활용한 땅밀림 원인분석의 사례적 연구)

  • Recent reports have indicated a rapid increase in the frequency of sediment disasters due to climate change and other changes in the geological environment. Given this alarming situation and the recent increase in the frequency of land creep in Korea, systematic and efficient recovery and management of land creep areas is essential. The purpose of this study is to identify disaster vulnerability by conducting a physical exploration of land creep in San 4-1, Jayeon-ri, Gaegun-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, and examine stability by identifying the overall geological structure of the affected ground. In addition, drilling surveys are conducted to verify the reliability of the measured data. The results of the study reveal that low specific resistance abnormalities are distributed in the upper part of the soil layer and weathering zone and that this section is a 50-120 m exploration line. It is also confirmed to be a low-hardness ground area where tensile cracks are observed. Therefore, there is a need for research focused on developing measures to reduce economic and social damage within the domestic context by continuously monitoring indicators of land creep and identifying land creep risks.
