Development and Demonstration of Trial-run Automation System of Energy Storage System for Frequency Regulation (주파수조정용 에너지저장장치 시운전 자동화 시스템의 개발과 실증)

  • System to automate the trial-run of energy storage system for frequency regulation was developed and demonstrated. Basic strategy was developed on the basis of trial-run procedure and verified in the computer simulation tool. The algorithm was developed and coded for 4MW trial-run automation system. 4MW trial-run automation system was connected to 4MW energy storage system for frequency regulation in Jocheon substation of Jeju city and demonstrated. 24MW trial-run automation system was developed on the basis of 4MW trial-run automation system and verified by operation system for 24MW energy storage system for frequency regulation. The operation system has own simulation model of energy storage system and power system. The verification was performed to improve the system in the view of user. 24MW trial-run automation system was demonstrated in 32MW Ul-san and 36MW Non-gong energy storage system. All tests of trial-run was done by manual and first they ware taken 1 week with no trial-run automation system. The manual trial-run tests were taken by maximum three times. Trial-run test by trial-run automation system was taken 2 days. The system helps reduce the trial-run test period and improve the accuracy of tests.

  • The aim of study is to develop a dual driven ship berthing/deberthing system with $360^{\circ}$ steerability. A large ship used bow thruster, side thruster and pod propulsor etc. when approaching to a pier. But as marine leisure boats become large-scaled, the number of accidents is recently increasing what caused a ship to crash into a ship and a ship to crash into mooring facilities during berthing/deberthing on a marina. To solve the problem, the control responsiveness of a joystick connected with two motors and a propeller was checked and torque was increased by the electromagnetic design of magnetic gear. A sea trial test was carried out to investigate a performance of the developed system in the real sea.

  • This paper - following 'Development of multi-purpose marine waste cleaning systems for the shallow waters (Part I : preliminary conceptual design)'- describes on the system development and the sea trial performance evaluation(Cho[2003]). The multi-functional seabed waste collecting system and the towing hook system were developed. The maximum working depth of these systems are 15 and 100 meters, respectively(MOMAF[2001]). For the multi-purpose use to collect the marine waste, this system contains floating waste collecting device for the waste on seawater and remained waste collecting device for the waste on seabed, while steel wire cutting system is added for higher efficiency In order to evaluate the system performance, the prototype of multi-functional system was constructed and the sea trial test at shallow water were carried out. As a result, this system operated well with safe and without any interaction so that the developed systems are practicable and applicable.

프로펠러 보호터널 부착 연안어선 개발에 관한 연구

  • 최근 우리나라 어선어업은 한중일 어업협정, 연안 어업자원 감소 및 연안오염 등 사회적, 환경적 변화가 급변하고 있어 이들을 고려한 어선 선형개발이 필요로 한다. 현재 우리나라의 어선 중 연안지역에서 조업하는 5톤 미만의 소형어선은 전체 어선 중 $65\%$ 이상으로 구성되어 있으나 선박의 크기가 작고 부가가치가 낮은 관계로 지금까지 전문적인 연구는 거의 없었던 것이 현실이다. 한편, 서$\cdot$남해 연안에서 작업 및 항해하는 연안어선들의 해양사고 발생율은 전체사고의 $69.6\%$로 매년 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 전체 어선 안전사고 중 부유폐어망, 로프 등이 추진기에 감긴 사고는 전체 사고의 $10.4\%$로 매년 증가하고 있다. 이에, 추진기 손상에 의한 어선 사고와 연관하여 추진기를 보호하기 위한 장치로서 물분사 추진기(Water-Jet), 펌프제트(Pump-Jet)장치들이 있으나 이들은 고가 수입품으로서 영세한 어민들의 소형어선에 장착하기에는 한계가 있어, 본 연구에서는 폐그물, 로프 등 해상 부유물에 의한 추진기 손상이 발생되지 않는 프로펠러 보호터널 부착 추진장치를 개발을 목적으로 한다. 프로펠러 부착 추진장치는 기존 선미를 수정하여 추진기를 선체 안쪽으로 배치하며 돌출되는 부분은 덕트로 보호하고 있으며 이러한 추진기는 워터제트 추진기와는 달리 가격이 싸고 그물이나 부유물에 걸리지 않고 고장 시 신속한 대응이 쉬워 소형 연안어선에 적합할 뿐만 아니라 그물, 부유물, 갯벌이 많은 국내의 서$\cdot$남해 연안에서 작업 및 항해 시 매우 유용할 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구는 `프로펠러 보호터널 부착 연안어선의 선형개발`을 최종목표로 수행하였으며, 연구개발 내용은 기존 소형 연안어선의 분류 및 특성 조사 연구, 프로펠러 보호터널형 선미 선형 개발, 기존 선형 및 보호터널형 선형의 모형시험, 개발선의 구조강도 특성, 프로펠러 설계 및 단독시험, 보호터널 부착 추진기의 효율 검증 및 개발 대상 어선의 조선공학적 제 계산, 설계도작성 등을 실시하였다. 주요 요소 기술로서는 프로펠러 보호터널 부착 선형의 모형시험을 통하여 선미선형을 개발하며 FRP판부재의 구조강도 특성을 분석하고 그 결과를 활용하여 4톤급 연안어선의 시제선을 건조하고 시운전을 통하여 주요성능을 확인하였다.

Study on the Correction Method of Ice Strength and Thickness Applied to the Sea Trial Condition Based on the Ice Model Test Results (빙두께 및 강도 보정기법을 이용한 모형시험결과의 실선시운전 적용연구)

  • This paper deal with the validation of correction method of ice strength and thickness to the sea trial condition based on the ice model test results. It is very difficult to conduct the model test corresponding to the sea trial condition exactly. In addition, the available sea trial data is not sufficient for the validation of correction method. In the present study, the model test results of Terry-Fox ice breker have been used to compare the corrected results of sea trial test by varying its thickness and strength of model ice. The HSVA and ITTC methods have been applied to the present comparisions and the required power has been also validated by using the HSVA method. There are rather good agreement between the sea trial result and model test corrected by the HSVA and ITTC method. The more comparisons are expected to be carried out in near future.

Development of Pilot Injection Plant for CO2 Underground Storage (이산화탄소 지중저장용 파일럿 주입플랜트 개발)

  • The worldwide issue of greenhouse gas reduction has recently drawn great attention to carbon capture and storage(CCS). In this study, we developed a 10,000 ton/year pilot injection plant for geological storage of carbon dioxide. Major components of the pilot plant include a pressure pump, a booster pump, and an inline heater to bring liquid carbon dioxide into its supercritical state. The test results show that the pilot plant readily achieves the injection pressure and temperature, showing satisfactory control performance. The overall power consumption is 2,000 ~ 2,500 W, more than 75% of which consumed by the pressure pump. This study will facilitate varied research on greenhouse gas reduction as the only domestically developed system for geological injection.

  • This thesis proposed H-Bridge Multi-Level Inverter for Fluidized Bed Combustion Boiler Secondary Air Fan in 200MW thermal power plant. The adjustable speed drive systems improve the efficiency in lightly load condition and extend the life span of motor by limiting the over current at starting. H-Bridge Multi-level Inverter is composed of the several series low voltage power cell inverters, which have the independent isolated do link, in each phase. KEPRI(Korea Electric Power Research Institute) has successfully completed to develop, install, and commission H-Bridge Multi-level Inverter(6.6kV, 1MVA). This thesis gives a full detail about H-Bridge Multi-level Inverter, proposed boiler DCS(Distributed Control System) logic, and commissioning test result.

  • Because of the growing interest in supercritical carbon dioxide power cycle technology owing to its potential enhancement in compactness and efficiency, supercritical carbon dioxide cycles have been studied in the fields of nuclear power, concentrated solar power (CSP), and fossil fuel power generation. This study introduces the current status of the research project on the supercritical carbon dioxide power cycle by Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER). During the first phase of the project, the un-recuperated supercritical Brayton cycle test loop was built and tested. In phase two, researchers are designing and building a supercritical carbon dioxide dual Brayton cycle, which utilizes two turbines and two recuperators. Under the simulation condition considered in this study, it was confirmed that the design parameter has an optimal value for maximizing the net power in the supercritical carbon dioxide dual cycle.

  • The procedure and the results of the full scale strain measurement of the long-range high-speed foil catamaran are described. The wave induced stresses at the center struts of the foils were measured during the sea trials in order to evaluate the hydrodynamic force acting on the foils and to verify the structural safety of the foil structures. From the statistical properties of the measured response of the stress, the most probable maximum values of the lift force and the stresses at the foils in service life of the ship are predicted and compared with the design parameters of the foils which were applied in the design of the subject ship. The available prediction processes of the measured stress are studied and the results of the applied processes are compared with each other.

  • KTX control systems mutually control OBCS, ATC, MBU, TECA, MDT, ABU, HVAC, TRAE, PID and FDTR, KTX OBCS as master, and controls other sub-control devices as slave, using various serial lines. In order to analyze physical structure of various serial link lines and mutual data transmission structure, serial line analyzer is used in many ways. To use serial line analyzer, prior and professional technics about High Speed Train and experience of using device are necessary. In spite of difficult situation of space and environment where we work for maintenance of High Speed Train, in presenting basic structure about physical connection method aquired by sub-device serial line data collection and about communication data analysis, I hope that this research will be helpful for the person who work for similar area. Also, I hope that this research will help diagnostic work of High Speed Train, which is necessary for test run of independently developed High Speed Train.
