This study uncovered ambiguity and inconsistency of the semantic relationships of the existing thesaurus by analyzing the concept relationships of AGROVOC and proposed the concept relationships of ontology in partially overcoming these limitations. By the results of analyzing the concept relationships, the study proposed conceptual model as most important part of conecept relationships of ontology and semantically developed concept relationship types. These relationships partially can perform inferences and must be useful for information knowledge system based on more exact semantic relationships. Also the study found out new relationship types and they will be useful for extension of the concept relationships of existing thesaurus. And these relationship types showed that they were useful for the existing thesaurus as Legal Thesaurus.

형용사는 감성 및 감정검색을 위한 색인에서 주로 사용된다. 이를 위해서는 형용사의 개념관계를 파악하고 표현하는 것이 중요한 일이다. 본 연구에서는 형용사의 개념관계를 표현하기 위하여 형용사의 특성, 관련 개념구조를 고찰하고, 아울러 구조화, 관계, 표시방법, 배열 등을 고려하여 형용사 시소러스를 설계하였다.

자동색인 시스템의 색인이 선정 능력을 향상시키기 위한 특정어파일 구축을 제안한다. 특정어파일을 도입함으로써 색인어 선정시 좀더 포괄적인(또는 세부적인) 주제어선정을 돕고 또한 전조합색인의 문제점으로 야기되기 쉬운 검색누수현상을 막을 수 있다. 특정어파일은 시소러스 기반 자동시스템의 성능을 강화하거나 시소러스파일의 대용으로 이용할 수 있을 것이다.

Terms collected from theological dictionaries in English and the Scripture are used in order to construct conceptual relationships of theological thesaurus. Using the terms, equivalence relationships, hierarchical relationships, and associative relationships as the basic relationships in thesaurus are constructed. In equivalence relationships, Hebrew, Greek, and Latin terms are included as descriptors and in hierarchical relationships, generic, instance, whole-part, and polyhierarchical relationships are constructed. Also, there is no big difference in the kinds of conceptual relationships between this theological thesaurus and the thesauri of other subjects. Examples of Biblical Theology are showed. Because Biblical Theology has a strong point to view the Scripture and Protestantism on comprehensive perspective. In this context, one of the main feature in the theological thesaurus is that there are a lot of the allegorical terms. Typology, which is the core structure causes this result.

The Matter of vmbulary control for newspaper database has been studied for a long time. These efforts hadn't made any good achievements until JOINS Thesaurus system developed. To search based on the functional classification or provenance is not easy for users, and the key word-based information retrieval presents only simple words matching with the title of the records. The Presidential Archive of Korea developed a subject classification scheme to improve the convenience of searching for various records and came up with a subject thesaurus based on the scheme that utilizes the terms appearing on the title of the records and the terms used by the users who searched the portal or requested information disclosure. This research presents the development process of subject thesaurus. It also presents the utilization methods for records management work and services.

This study presents a multilingual integrated ontological approach that enables linking classification systems. thesauri. and terminology databases in science and technology for more effective indexing and information retrieval online. In this integrated system, we designed a thesaurus model with concept as a unit and designated essential data elements for a terminology database on the basis of ISO 12620 standard. The classification system for science and technology adopted in this study provides subject access channels from other existing classification systems through its mapping table. A prototype system was implemented with the field of nuclear energy as an application area.

As contemporary thesauri have become large and complex, it is increasingly difficult to assess the intended meaning of each one of the terms. Thereby the meaning of many descriptors seems to be very similar, and it is often not possible to distinguish among them and to identify the term correctly. Purpose of this article is to induce definitions of descriptors in thesaurus by specifying the characteristics of each concept, locating it in the domain and providing clear and prescriptive information on the meaning of each descriptor in the form of a standardized terminological definition. In this study, a small prototype thesaurus using definition of term in the field of information industry in Korean Standards has been developed. In this thesaurus definitions are written for each descriptor with the help of a proposed defining model and in accordance with defining rules borrowed from the field of terminology. In addition, elements of analyzed definition have been included in the relation structure of descriptors. It is revealed that terminological definition added to thesaurus may permit extraction of separate items of information from definitions for the representation of knowledge structures and makes it easier to confine the scope of descriptors to be included in thesaurus in a given subject field.
