  • Sewerage Treatment Plants(STPs) are complexes systems in which a range of physical, chemical and biological processes occur. Since Activated Sludge Model(ASM) No.1 was published, a number of new mathematical models for simulating biological processes have been developed. However, these models have disadvantages in cost and simplicity due to the laboriousness and tediousness of their procedures. One of the major difficulties of these mathematical model based tools is that the field-operators mostly don't have the time or the computer-science skills to handle there models, so it mainly remains on experts or special engineers. In order to solve these situations and help the field-operators, the $KM^2BM$(K-water & More-M Mass Balance Model) based on the dynamic-mass balance model was developed. This paper presents $KM^2BM$ as a simulation tools for STPs design and optimization. This model considers the most important microbial behavioral processes taking place in a STPs to maximize potential applicability without increasing neither model parameter estimation nor wastewater characterization efforts.

  • This paper describes a Fcore_GenSim(Parameterized FFT Core Generation & Simulation Program), which can be used as an essential If(Intellectual Property) in various OFDM modem designs. The Fcore_Gensim is composed of two parts, a parameterized core generator(PFFT_CoreGen) that generates Verilog-HDL models of FFT cores, and a fixed-point FFT simulator(FXP_FFTSim) which can be used to estimate the SQNR performance of the generated cores. The parameters that can be specified for core generation are FFT length in the range of 64 ~2048-point and word-lengths of input/output/internal/twiddle data in the range of 8-b "24-b with 2-b step. Total 43,659 FFT cores can be generated by Fcore_Gensim. In addition, CBFP(Convergent Block Floating Point) scaling can be optionally specified. To achieve an optimized hardware and SQNR performance of the generated core, a hybrid structure of R2SDF and R2SDC stages and a hybrid algorithm of radix-2, radix-2/4, radix-2/4/8 are adopted according to FFT length and CBFP scaling.

  • The conventional vertical probe has the thin and long signal path that makes transfer characteristic of probe worse because of the S-shaped structure. So we propose the new vertical probe structure that has branch springs in the S-shaped probe. It makes closed loop when the probe mechanically connects to the electrode on a wafer. We fabricated the proposed vertical probe and measured the transfer characteristic and mechanical properties. Compared to the conventional S-shaped vertical probe, the proposed probe has the overdrive that is 1.2 times larger and the contact force that is 2.5 times larger. And we got the improved transfer characteristic by 1.4 dB in $0{\sim}10$ GHz. Also we developed the simulation model of the probe card by using full-wave simulator and the simulation result is correlated with measurement one. As a result of this simulation model, the cantilever probe and PCB have the worst transfer characteristic in the probe card.

  • IPSec(Internet Protocol Security) is a framework for a set of protocols for security at the network or packet processing layer of network communication. IPSec is providing authentication, integrity and confidentiality security services. The specifications for Internet Key Exchange(IKEv1) were released to the world. Some criticisms of IKEv1 were that it was too complex and endeavored to define too much functionality in one place. Multiple options for multiple scenarios were built into the specification. The problem is that some of the included scenarios are rarely if ever encountered. For IPsec to work, the sending and receiving devices must chare a Public Key. This is accomplished through a protocol known as Internet Security Association and Key Management Protocol/Oakley(ISAKMP/Oakley), which allows the receiver to obtain a public key and authenticate the sender using digital certificates.   • 네트워크상에서 발생하는 다양한 형태의 대량의 데이터를 정확하고 효율적으로 분석하기 위해 설계되고 있는 마이닝 시스템들은 목표지향적으로 훈련데이터들을 어떻게 구축하여 다룰 것인지에 대한 문제보다는 대부분 얼마나 많은 데이터 마이닝 기법을 지원하고 이를 적용할 수 있는지 등의 기법에 초점을 두고 있다. 따라서, 점점 더 에이전트화, 분산화, 자동화 및 은닉화 되는 최근의 보안공격기법을 정확하게 탐지하기 위한 방법은 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 유비쿼터스 환경 내에서 발생 가능한 문제 중 복잡하고 지능화된 침입패턴의 탐지를 위해 데이터 마이닝 기법과 결함허용방법을 이용하는 개선된 학습알고리즘과 후처리 방법에 의한 RTPID(Refinement Training and Post-processing for Intrusion Detection)시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서의 RTPID 시스템은 active learning과 post-processing을 이용하여, 네트워크 내에서 발생 가능한 침입형태들을 정확하고 효율적으로 다루어 분석하고 있다. 이는 기법에만 초점을 맞춘 기존의 데이터마이닝 분석을 개선하고 있으며, 특히 제안된 분석 프로세스를 진행하는 동안 능동학습방법의 장점을 수용하여 학습효과는 높이며 비용을 감소시킬 수 있는 자가학습방법(self learning)방법의 효과를 기대할 수 있다. 이는 관리자의 개입을 최소화하는 학습방법이면서 동시에 False Positive와 False Negative 의 오류를 매우 효율적으로 개선하는 방법으로 기대된다. 본 논문의 제안방법은 분석도구나 시스템에 의존하지 않기 때문에, 유사한 문제를 안고 있는 여러 분야의 네트웍 환경에 적용될 수 있다.더욱 높은성능을 가짐을 알 수 있다.의 각 노드의 전력이 위험할 때 에러 패킷을 발생하는 기법을 추가하였다. NS-2 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 실험을 한 결과, 제안한 기법이 AOMDV에 비해 경로 탐색 횟수가 최대 36.57% 까지 감소되었음을 알 수 있었다.의 작용보다 더 강력함을 시사하고 있다.TEX>로 최고값을 나타내었으며 그 후 감소하여 담금 10일에는 $1.61{\sim}2.34%$였다. 시험구간에는 KKR, SKR이 비교적 높은 값을 나타내었다. 무기질 함량은 발효기간이 경과할수록 증하였고 Ca는 $2.95{\sim}36.76$, Cu는 $0.01{\sim}0.14$, Fe는 $0.71{\sim}3.23$, K는 $110.89{\sim}517.33$, Mg는 $34.78{\sim}122.40$, Mn은 $0.56{\sim}5.98$, Na는 $0.19{\sim}14.36$, Zn은 $0.90{\sim}5.71ppm$을 나타내었으며, 시험구별로 보면 WNR, BNR구가 Na만 제외한 다른 무기성분 함량이 가장 높았다.O to reduce I/O cost by reusing data already present in the memory of other nodes. An Efficient Congestion Control Mechanism for Tree-based Many-to-many Reliable Multicast (트리 기반의 다대다 신뢰적 멀티캐스트를 위한 효율적인 혼잡 제어 기법)

  • Congestion control is a key task in reliable multicast along with error control. However, existing tree-based congestion control schemes such as MTCP and TRAMCC are designed for one-to-many reliable multicast and have some drawbacks when they are used for many-to-many reliable multicast. We propose an efficient congestion control mechanism, TMRCC, for tree-based many-to-many reliable multicast protocols. The proposed scheme is based on the congestion windowing mechanism and a rate controller is used in addition. The feedback for error recovery is exploited for congestion control as well to minimize the overhead at the receivers. The ACK timer and the NACK timers are set dynamically reflecting the network condition changes. The rate regulation algorithm in the proposed scheme is designed to help the flows sharing the same link to achieve the fair share quickly The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated using ns-2. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms TRAMCC in terms of intra- session fairness and shows good level of responsiveness, TCP-friendliness, and scalability. In addition, we implemented the proposed scheme by integrating with GAM that is one of many-to-many reliable multicast protocols and evaluated the performance in a laboratory-wide testbed.

  • Background: Power spectrum analysis method is a powerful noninvasive tool for quantifying autonomic nervous system activity. In this paper, we developed a data acquistion system for estimating the activity of the autonomic nervous system by the analysis of heart rate and respiratory rate variability using power spectrum analysis. Materials and methods: For the detection of QRS peak and measurement of respiratory rate from patient's ECG, we used low-pass filter and impedence method respectively. This system adopt an isolated power for patient's safety. In this system, two output signals can be obtained: R-R interval heart rate) and respiration rate time series. Experimental ranges are 30-240 BPM for ECG and 15-80 BPM for respiration. Results: The system can acquire two signals accurately both in the experimental test using simulator and in real clinical setting. Conclusion: The system developed in this paper is efficient for the acquisition of heart rate and respiration signals. This system will play a role in research area for improving our understanding of the pathophysiologic involvement of the autonomic nervous system in various disease states.

  • The railway accident is characterized by widespread and great(immerse) damage to our society when an accident occurred even if the probability of a railway accident is low. It is no doubt that the role of a rolling stock driver who are active in the first line of the rail safety driving is the most important to prevent an unexpected railway accident. Before new railway safety law being taken into effect, each railway operating organization had the responsibility of training a rolling stock driver by qualification criteria (the requirements or standards of competency), training period, probation period decided on their own standards. To train drivers driving same locomotive model, each railway operating organization had a variety of standards to draft and train trainees. Consequently, It was considered inefficient way to train and manage rolling stock drivers. However, after implementing the new railway safety law, a new system including training and evaluation process to issue driver's license on the condition that entire requirements are satisfied has been established. To prove the competency of the rolling stock driver objectively, training center and third-party evaluation center are divided individually and assigned by government office. Training center should design the training program to allot theatrical education time for different trainee group and to secure maximum practical training time utilizing simulator system to enhance the rolling stock driver's competency. This study analyzes certain conditions necessary to maximize the effectiveness and practical use of training for aquisition of a driver's license and the problems of the existing rail safety law and the ways to improve them.

Evanescent-mode Waveguide Band-pass Filter Applied by Novel Metal Post Capacitor (새로운 금속막대 커패시터를 적용한 감쇄모드 도파관 대역통과 여파기)

  • In this paper, a novel small-diameter cylindrical post capacitor inserted into an evanescent-mode rectangular waveguide (EMRWG) is proposed for easier tuning. In order to feed the EMRWG, the proposed structure uses a single ridge rectangular waveguide with the same width and height as the waveguide at the input and output ends. The inserted post capacitor are made up a circular groove formed in the center of the lower part of the broad wall of the EMRWG, and a concentric cylindrical post inserted into the upper part. First, the equivalent circuit model for the proposed structure is presented. When the EMRWG and the single ridge waveguide are combined, the joint susceptance and the turns ratio of the ideal transformer are calculated by two simulations using HFSS (3d fullwave simulator, Ansoft Co.) respectively. The susceptance and resonance characteristics of the inserted post were analyzed by using the obtained parameters and the characteristics of the EMRWG. A 2-post filter with a center frequency of 4.5 GHz and a bandwidth of 170 MHz was designed using a WR-90 waveguide, and the simulation results by using the HFSS and CST, equivalent circuit model were in good agreement.

Older Drivers' Characteristics and Optimal Number of Guide Names on Road Signs (도로표지에 대한 고령운전자의 인간공학적 특성과 적정 안내지명 개수에 대한 연구)

  • Due to the lack of judgement in an information processing on road sign, older drivers usually are having a hard time driving than young group. Furthermore, according to increasing in aging population, older drivers in Korea have been growing much faster. That means research for older drivers' characteristics and the number of guide name for road sign should be needed. In accordance with suggestions, this study was carried out the number of guide names for road sign with a variety of ages from the twenties to the seventies. For the sake of this study, statistical verification was conducted to confirm a change of speed, a reading time and a misreading rate with Driving Simulator and Electrooculogram tool. As the results of study, change of speed in the age range has shown that the higher the proportion of age, the lower the rate of velocity. Also reading time in the age range with regression analysis found that the higher the proportion of age, the higher the rate of reading time by 0.106sec. Finally, a binary logistic model was used to find the main factors. As the results, 4 number of guide names for road sign have been the best of them for older driver. The result of this study verified the importance of ideal guide numbers on road sign for older driver and proved itself to be an effective method to determine the road safety for the road signs.
