  • Despite technical advance, human error is the main reason for maritime accidents. To ensure a safety of maritime transporting environment, technical and methodological improvement to react to various types of maritime accidents should be developed instead of ambiguously anticipating maritime accidents due to human errors. Survey, questionnaires, and interview have been routinely applied to understand objective human lookout pattern differences in various navigational situations. Although the descriptive methodology helps systematically categorizing different patterns of human behavior to avoid accidents, the subjective methods limit to objectively recognize physical behavior patterns during navigation. The purpose of the study is to develop an objective lookout pattern detection system using wearable sensors in the simulated navigation environment. In the simulated maritime navigation environment, each participant performed a given navigational situation by wearing the wearable sensors on the wrist, trunk, and head. Activity classification algorithm that was developed in the previous navigation activity classification research was applied. The physical lookout behavior patterns before and after situation-aware showed distinctive patterns, and the results are expected to reduce human errors of navigators.

Long-term Estimation and Mitigation of Urban Development Impact on Watershed Hydrology (도시개발로 인한 장기 수문변화 예측과 저감 방안)

  • This study is aimed at estimating and mitigating the impact of urban development on watershed hydrology for new town experienced with dramatical change of land use from rural to urban. The climate change scenario, representative concentration pathway (RCP), revealed direct response of runoff depth to precipitation, which increased until year 2100. The types of areas for urban use in addition to climate change affected the efficiencies of bioretention, applied as a low impact development (LID). Combining different areas for urban use suggested that a possible approach to mitigate the urban development impact on watershed hydrology by supplementing captured rainfall potential from area to area and attenuating peak discharge and retarding its time of concentration.

  • The upcoming warfare will be network-centric warfare with the acquiring and sharing of information on the battlefield through the connection of the entire weapon system. Therefore, the amount of information generated increases, but the technology of evaluating the information is insufficient. Threat assessment is a technology that supports a quick decision, but the information has many uncertainties and is difficult to apply to an advanced battlefield. This paper proposes a threat assessment based on artificial intelligence while removing the target uncertainty. The artificial intelligence system used was a fuzzy inference system and a multi-layer perceptron. The target was classified by inputting the unique characteristics of the target into the fuzzy inference system, and the classified target information was input into the multi-layer perceptron to calculate the appropriate threat value. The validity of the proposed technique was verified with the threat value calculated by inputting the uncertain target to the trained artificial neural network.

  • This paper presents the network security modeling methodology and simulation using the hierarchical and modular modeling and simulation framework. Recently, Howard and Amoroso developed the cause-effect model of the cyber attack, defense, and consequences, Cohen has been proposed the simplified network security simulation methodology using the cause-effect model, however, it is not clear that it can support more complex network security model and also the model-based cyber attack simulation. To deal with this problem, we have adopted the hierarchical and modular modeling and simulation environment so called the System Entity Structure/Model Base (SES/MB) framework which integrates the dynamic-based formalism of simulation with the symbolic formalism of AI. Several simulation tests performed on sample network system verify the soundness of our method.

  • As the Untact era is rapidly changing, collaboration tools are increasing their utilization and value as digital technologies for non-face-to-face work. While instant messenger-based collaboration tools support a variety of functions, crime and accident concerns are also increasing in proportion to their convenience, such as information leakage and security incidents. Meanwhile, the digital forensics perspective on collaborative tools is not enough, so forensics research is needed. This study analyzes significant artifacts in the two operating environments through Windows and Android forensics research on Microsoft Teams, the collaboration tool with the highest share in the world. Also, based on differences in artifacts and data attributes according to the operating environment, by applying 'differential forensic', we proved that the usefulness of evidence can be improved by presenting a complementary analysis method and timeline configuration through information linkage.

A Study on the Method of Calculating the Launch Period of the Asteroid Exploration Mission (소행성 탐사선의 발사시기 산출 방안에 관한 연구)

  • A basic study was conducted on how to determine the launch timing of a space probe targeting an Earth-approaching asteroid. In the future, when a probe mission targeting an asteroid approaching Earth's orbit is conducted in Korea, in order to determine the launch time, an appropriate solution should be obtained by applying the Global Optimization technique. For this, accurate current orbit information of each asteroid must be obtained first, and prior scenarios such as Earth's orbit information, main engine performance information of the probe and launch vehicle, the number of gravity-assisted maneuvers, and maximum flight time limit should be discussed. Also, the criteria for optimization should be determined first. In this paper, based on these prerequisites and information, a method for finding the launch time of an asteroid probe was studied using the open source software such as PyKEP and Evolutionary Mission Trajectory Generator (EMTG) which are the programs for interplanetary trajectory generation purpose.

Proposal of ISMS-P-based outsourcing service management method through security control business relevance analysis (보안관제 업무 연관성 분석을 통한 ISMS-P 기반의 외주용역 관리 방법 제안)

  • As security threats caused by cyber attacks continue, security control is mainly operated in the form of a service business with expertise for rapid detection and response. Accordingly, a number of studies have been conducted on the operation of security control services. However, due to the research on the resulting management, indicators, and measurements, the work process has not been studied in detail, causing confusion in the field, making it difficult to respond to security accidents. This paper presents ISMS-P-based service management methods and proposes an easy outsourcing service management method for client by checklisting each item derived from the mapping of 64 items of ISMS-P protection requirements through business relevance analysis. In addition, it is expected to help implement periodic security compliance and acquire and renew ISMS-P in the mid- to long-term, and to contribute to enhancing security awareness of related personnel.

Discrete element analysis for design modification of leveling blade on motor grader vehicle (모터 그레이더 평탄작업용 블레이드의 설계개선을 위한 개별요소법 해석)

  • The blade of motor grader is used for scattering and leveling the aggregates on the foundation of road construction site. The paper performed a design improvement research of the blade part to enhance the working efficiency of motor graders. The scattering works of aggregates by blade driving were simulated by DEM (discrete element method) of a dynamic code. The four design parameters were selected and a specific leveling scenario for the simulation was determined. The nine blade models were numerically experimented, and the sensitivity of each factors was analyzed. Next, the design factors that influence a blade performance have been selected by ANOVA, and these key design factors were applied to the progressive quadratic response surface method (PQRSM). The optimum set of design factors of the blade was finally proposed.

  • 하구담수호는 하구에 방조제를 축조하여 인공적으로 조성된 저수지로 배수갑문을 통해 적정수위를 유지하고 담수된 물은 농업용수, 공업 및 생활용수로 활용되고 있다. 최근 담수호 수질을 살펴보면 호소수 수질환경기준 IV등급을 상회하여 농업용수로 부적합한 것으로 나타났다. 하구담수호 수질은 간척농지와 담수호 유역내 농경지, 축사 등에서 배출되는 영양염류, 유사 등에 의해 오염되며, 이들은 경지의 경사, 토양, 강우 특성 등과 같이 다양한 인자들에 의하여 영향을 받는다. 도시화와 기후변화 등으로 인해 변화하는 환경에서 지속가능한 수자원 관리를 위해 하구담수호 물환경의 변화를 분석할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 간월호 유역을 대상으로 유역-호소 연계 모형을 이용하여 미래 기상, 토지이용, 용수수요량 등의 변화에 따른 담수호 물환경을 분석하였다. SSP(Shared Socioeconomic Pathways) 기후변화 시나리오를 활용하여 미래 기상을 적용하였으며 Markov Chain기법 및 FLUS (Future Land-Use Simulation model)모형을 통해 미래 토지이용을 구축하였다. 미래 환경 변화를 적용하여 HSPF-EFDC-WASP 모형을 구동하여 담수호의 수문, 수질 분석을 수행하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 미래의 환경 변화에 대응하기 위해 하구담수호를 관리하기 위한 효과적인 전략을 개발하는 데 활용될 것으로 사료된다.

Development of Well Network System Platform against Drought (가뭄 대응 기존 관정 활용을 위한 관정 연계 플랫폼 개발)

  • 2020년 기준 우리나라 전체 지하수 시설은 총 1,659천개소, 이용량은 2,916백만m3/년, 년간 지하수 개발가능량은 130억m3대비 22.3%이다(환경부 등, 2021). 단위면적당 지하수 시설수와 이용량은 16.8개소/km2, 29,168m3/년/km2(81.1m3/일/km2)이다. 이러한 자료는 가뭄 대응시 신규 관정 개발도 필요하지만, 기존에 개발된 관정들을 최대한 효율적으로 활용하는 방안을 우선적으로 고려해야 한다는 것을 시사한다. 관정들을 상호 연계하게 되면 여러 개의 관정에서 나오는 물을 합하여 총량을 늘릴 수 있기 때문에, 가뭄 등 비상시에 일시적으로 다량의 물을 공급할 수 있다. 또한, 평상시에도 적절한 양수량 조절을 통해 지하수 자원의 손실을 막고 수위 저하에 의한 문제를 최소화할 수 있다. 관정연계시스템(well network system, WNS)은 기존 관정들을 가상의(virtually) 또는 물리적(physical) 연계를 하여, 최적의 지하수를 공급할 수 있는 시스템으로 정의할 수 있다. 가뭄 대응 및 효율적 지하수 자원 활용을 위한 관정연계시스템 개발과 실증을 위해 홍성군 서부면 양곡리 일대에 양수제어, 관로시설, 물탱크 등 물리적인 시설을 시험 설치하여 운영하고 있다. 또한, 관정연계시스템은 ICT 기술과 지하수관리 기법을 연동하여 지하수 관정들을 연계하고 최적으로 운영할 수 있는 하나의 의사결정시스템으로서 관정연계 플랫폼을 개발하였다. 관정연계 플랫폼은 웹기반으로 개발되었으며, 대수층의 수리지질 특성, 수요에 기반한 물공급량 평가, 관정 연계 시나리오 및 최적 운영 알고리즘, 지하수 모델링 등이 가능하도록 각각의 모듈들이 구성 및 통합·운영 되도록 설계되었다. 본 시스템 개발을 통해 가뭄 발생시 현장에서 신속히 지하수로 물을 공급할 수 있으며, 신규 관정 개발에 드는 비용을 절약할 수 있고, 기존 시설을 활용하기 때문에 새로운 수자원 건설 인프라 구축 비용도 절감할 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 개별관정에 대한 이용률 제고와 지하수관리도 보다 체계적, 과학적으로 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 하지만, 이러한 시스템이 제대로 운영 및 보급되기 위해서는 관정연계와 관련한 법제도적 보완과 함께, 지역사회의 공적자원으로서의 지하수에 대한 인식개선과 지하수의 개발 및 보전, 적합한 합리적 배분·이용 등 적극적인 협조가 이루어져야 한다.
