A CRN Discovery Scheme for NSIS based Aggregated Resource Reservations (NSIS 기반 군집 자원예약을 위한 CRN 발견 방안)

  • 핸드오버가 발생하는 이동망 환경에서 주요 이슈 중 하나는 핸드오버 후 MN(Mobile Node)의 트래픽이 전송될 새로운 경로 상에 자원 재예약을 위한 지연 시간을 최소화하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 데이터 전달 경로가 변경된 경로에서만 자원예약 시그널링이 이루어지도록 CRN(Crossover Node)을 발견하는 것이 중요하다. 이동망 환경에서 자원 재예약을 위한 CRN은 SID(Session ID)를 이용하여 발견될 수 있다. 그러나 HMIPv6 네트워크에서 MAP(Mobility Anchor Point)과 HA(Home Agent)간 군집(Aggregate) 자원 예약이 이루어진 경우에서는 SID를 이용하여 CRN을 발견할 수 없다. 왜냐하면, MN의 핸드오버 후, 종단간 SID는 동일할지라도 이전 MAP과 HA간 설립된 세션의 군집 SID가 새로운 MAP과 HA간 설립된 세션의 군집 SID와 다르기 때문이다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 HMIPv6 네트워크에서의 CRN 발견방안을 제안한다. 제안하는 방안에서는 시그널링 메시지에 이전 군집 세션 정보를 포함하여 전달함으로서 시그널링 메시지가 목적지까지 도달하기 전에 CRN이 발견될 수 있도록 하였다. 제안하는 방안은 군집 자원예약이 갖는 시그널링 및 플로우별 상태 정보 감소 효과를 그대로 유지하면서, MN의 핸드오버 후, 자원 재예약을 위한 지연 시간을 단축시킴으로서 통신 성능을 향상 시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • Mobile Ip 환경에서 모바일 노드가 외부 네트워크로 이동하는 경우, 이동할 때마다 매번 Binding Update(BU) 메시지를 시그널링 하게 되면 Registration latency가 길어져, 이로 인해 불필요한 네트워크 트래픽을 유발한다. 따라서 HMIPv6가 고안되었는데 지역적인 이동성을 관리하는 MAP을 두어 계층적인 관리가 가능하게 되었다. HMIPv6는 이동단말을 구분할 수 있는 주소로 지역적인 LCoA와 외부에 노출되는 RCoA를 가지게 된다. 여기서, Mobile IP 환경에서 노드가 이동시 발생하게 되는 BU 메시지는 보안 취약성이 제안되어 왔는데 HMIPv6 에서는 두개의 CoA를 가지게 되므로 보안위협이 늘어나게 된다. 본 논문에서는 Static Shared Key를 사용하여 LCoA의 BU 시그널링 메시지를 인증함으로써 보안 취약성을 개선하였다.

Structure Analysis of Optical Internet Network and Optical Transmission Experiments Using UNI Signaling Protocol (광인터넷망 구조 분석과 UNI 시그널링 프로토콜을 이용한 광전송 실험)

  • In this paper, the structural design of optical Internet is analyzed and by using UNI (User Network Interface) signaling protocol an optical transmission experiment was performed. The hierarchical structure of the basic optical Internet consists of the backbone network, the service network and the access network. The necessary functions for each layer were described as follows: Control structure of the optical transport layer, network operation and management structure, internetworking technology of sub networks, routing and signaling technology. By using UNI signaling protocol from OIF (Optical Internetworking Forum), the optical transmission in the proposed structure of the optical Internet network was experimented. By the traffic generation of LSP (Label Switched Path) data packets along the route-configuration was delivered to UNI. Finally, by showing the value of TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) packets the optical transmission was completely and successfully demonstrated.

  • 무선 컴퓨팅은 무선 통신의 발전으로 미래의 컴퓨팅 산업에서 보다 중요하게 인식될 것이고, WWW은 인터넷 응용의 개발과 인트라넷 통합을 위해 널리 사용될 매우 유망한 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 이동 컴퓨팅과 WWW을 통합한 무선 인터넷에서 이동 단말의 기지국들간에 캐시 재배치를 통하여 웹브라우징을 향상시키는 기법을 설계하고 모의실험을 통하여 제안하는 방법의 성능을 평가한다. 여기서는 이동 단말의 재배치에 필요한 시그널링 트래픽을 줄이고 광역 무선 인터넷 환경에 적합하도록 이동단말이 현재 거주하는 기지국에서의 이동 단말의 경로 예측에 기초하여 캐시 재배치를 실행한다.

A New Dynamic Paging Mechanism for HMIPv6 Networks (HMIPv6환경에서 새로운 동적 페이징 기법)

  • With increasing demand of using mobile Internet, HMIPv6 is proposed by IETF to reduce location management traffics due to micro mobility and to provide IP-based movement. A paging mechanism combined with HMIPv6 can reduce the signaling traffics of a mobile node. We propose a dynamic paging mechanism in HMIPv6 which decides an optimal paging area for each mobile node by considering its characteristics. Total costs of a static paging mechanism and a dynamic paging mechanism are analyzed by mathematical formulas. As a result, we proved that the dynamic paging mechanism reduced total signal traffic costs more than a static paging mechanism.

Performance Evaluation of Hybrid Distributed Mobility Management (하이브리드 분산 이동성 관리 방식의 성능 평가)

  • To overcome the limitations of the current Central Mobility Management (CMM) protocols, IETF has been discussing about the Distributed Mobility Management (DMM) protocols that the centralized mobility functions of Home Agents (HA) are distributed to network edges closer to mobile users. The DMM protocol has some advantages of low-cost traffic delivery and high scalability. However, it faces several problems such as a high signaling cost and a complex address management. Especially, users moving at a high speed and with long-live sessions can make these problems worse. To reduce the high signaling cost for long-live sessions, we propose a novel hybrid DMM protocol allocating different mobility anchors according to the session durations. In this paper, we analyze the performance of the proposed hybrid DMM protocol and show superior performance with respect to the signaling cost.

NEMO-enabled Hybrid Distributed Mobility Management (네트워크 이동성을 지원하는 하이브리드 분산 이동성 관리)

  • In Distributed Mobility Management (DMM) protocol, the mobility functions are distributed to network edge closer to mobile users. DMM protocol has some advantages of low-cost traffic delivery, optimized routing path, high scalability. However, it needs many mobile anchors to exchange signaling messages and it results in a high signaling cost. Thus, previous works suggested the hybrid DMM protocol to reduce the high signaling cost for long-live sessions and this paper extends a hybrid scheme to the NEMO environment. The mobile routers are installed at vehicles and can move together with several mobile devices. So we can define the high-mobility property for mobile routers and suggest the hybrid scheme using this property. According to the high-mobility property of mobile routers, we can distribute the mobile anchors or allocate a centralized mobile anchor. In this paper, we mathematically analyze the performance of the proposed NEMO-enabled hybrid DMM protocol and show superior performance.

  • For in recently years, global cellular network service is changing rapidly to 4G. However, the fast introducing of 4G has been going with not enough research about security threat, it could be many kind of vulnerability. Therefore the research about security threat on 4G network is ongoing in external countries, but not sufficient in domestic. particularly in domestic situation of rapidly increased subscribers, The security threats which are hindering stability and usability could make a fatal effect on many users. 4G network should be considered about the feature of mobile network to protect 4G network stable. Mobile network has limited radio resources, it releases the radio resource which is not used in selected time and reallocate when detected the data transmission. Many signaling messages are transferred in the network entities to allocate or release the radio resource. In this paper, it will be introduced the technology to detect signaling DoS traffic hindering the stability and usability of network entities managing the radio resources by huge signaling message from the repetitive wireless connection/release message.

  • In this paper, we propose the load control procedure for WiBro system in order to keep the data traffic throughput maximum. The transmitter at a mobile terminal can estimate maximum available power for each user and then the maximum number of subchannels can be calculated considering the total available power. The data traffic throughput and the total throughput (the sum of signaling traffic and data traffic throughput) are considered. As the number of bandwidth requests per frame increases, the data traffic throughput can significantly decrease. Therefore, the load control procedure is indispensible to maintain the data throughput at the maximum level. So, we propose the load control procedure to prevent data traffic throughput from decreasing and evaluate the proposed procedure through the computer simulation under the multi-user environment. The maximum throughput can be maintained by applying the proposed procedure.

  • In this paper, we propose a new mobility management scheme, called i-FP(intelligent Fast PMIPv6). Our proposed i-FP scheme is addressed for solving the existing local mobility management problems from legacy frameworks. To move MN(Mobile Node) to other networks in one domain, i-FP employs three network entities which are extended from PMIPv6(Proxy Mobile IPv6), LMA(Local Mobility Anchor), MAG(Mobile Access Gateway) and MN. In i-FP, the three network entities can reduce the handover delay time of MNs. Also, i-FP uses an IP header swapping mechanism to avoid the traffic overhead and improve the throughput of network. To evaluate the performance of i-FP, we analyze our i-FP, HMIPv6(Hierarchical Mobile IPv6) and PMIPv6 which are legacy protocols of local mobility management in terms of various parameters. Finally, our i-FP scheme shows good performance(reduction of routing hops 10.2%, signaling costs 58.5% and handover delay 16.3%) than other network schemes for the total cost.
