Evaluation of engineering characteristics and field applicability of inorganic thixotropic-grout for backfilling of shield TBM tail voids (쉴드 TBM 뒤채움용 무기계 가소성 그라우트의 공학적 특성 및 현장적용성 평가)

  • The focus of this study is to evaluate the field applicability of the newly developed inorganic thixotropic-grout in various ways. In order to do this, the volume stability and the permeability of the inorganic thixotropic-grout have been measured and compared to the existing silica type grouts. In addition, the filling capability of the grout into the tail void has been evaluated through both an experiment with a miniature tail-void filling equipment and a test filling at the shield TBM construction site. The volume loss of the inorganic thixotropic-grout after a 14 day-curing under the atmosphere condition was appeared to be minimal. The excellent waterproofing ability of the inorganic thixotropic-grout was confirmed through a permeability test. The toxicity of the inorganic thixotropic-grout has been evaluated through a toxicity test of aquatic fishes (KS M 0111) and the pH value of the liquid eluviated from inorganic thixotropic-grout was measured as an average of 8.0 and a fatality rate of goldfish after 96 hours was 10% or so. The existence of harmful heavy metals in the liquid eluviated from the inorganic thixotropic-grout has been also examined through an atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) test. Any of harmful heavy metals were not detected and the detected level of $Cr^{6+}$ and Cd was far below the standard. Based on both an experiment with a miniature tail-void filling equipment and a test filling at the shield TBM construction site, the filling ability of inorganic thixotropic-grout into the tail void was proved to be excellent.

  • The newly improved multistep steel pipe grouting method was applied to an existing steel pipe-reinforced grouting method. It was applied in order to prevent a damage caused by ground failure from excessive grouting pressure in a tunnel construction. The tunnel goes under a highway and a ramp connected to a rest area on OO highway with 11.3~12.1 m depth cover and is a part of roadbed facility construction section ordered by OO public corporation. The improved grouting method provides pre-construction work condition assessment technique through new water injection limit test and grouting effect assessment technique by grouting type assessment. It also includes assessments on interval of joints, appropriate grouting pressure, and optimal operation time to be applied to current operations. Application of the grouting method allowed the smooth road management in shallow-depth grouting construction area located upper part of tunnel excavation. Moreover, the possibility of the application of the method not only to shallow-depth grouting construction but also to various steel pipe-reinforced grouting constructions was confirmed.

Field Application of 80MPa High Strength Fire Resistant Concrete using Ternary Blended Cement (설계강도 80MPa 3성분계 고강도내화콘크리트의 현장적용 및 성과분석)

  • Fire resistance and field tests for high-strength concrete(HSC) of 80MPa were carried out to evaluate whether or not it shows the same material properties even in the field condition of being mass-produced and supplied. As a result, it was found that fire resistant HSCs containing composite fiber(NY, PP) of 0.075% have great resistance to fire and spalling. In the field test, before the pumping air contents, slump flow, U-box, L-flow, compressive strength, gap of hydration temperature of interior and exterior of specimen and placing ratio per hour satisfied the required properties of HSC. However, after the pumping of HSC, as slump flow and L-flow were slightly less than required criterion, they need to be improved. In terms of hydration temperature of HSC, it was found to satisfy the related criterion. Packing ability as well as placing ratio per hour of HSC, which was about $44m^3$, show outstanding results. If slump flow of developed ternary HSC is improved after the pumping it can be useful for the construction of high-rise buildings.

  • Recently, it has been made many adjacent construction of inter-facility by the expansion of urban infrastructure facilities using the underground space. The complaints relating to the stability of the facility by adjacent construction is common. In this study, it was conducted for the subway line 5 Gimpo airport station structure in the upper Gimpo urban railway to determine the behavior characteristics of station structure according to adjacent construction. It was performed evaluation of the safety zone and excavation method for station structure. And after a review of damage evaluation, track irregularities and structural calculation by using a numerical analysis, stability of the station structure according to adjacent construction was evaluated to be secured. This study is expected to be used as basic data in advance if you need to review the effects of nearby structure according to adjacent construction.

  • In the reinforced retaining wall system, non-woven geotextiles are placed at the face of reinforced earth until the facing blocks are built up. And when this system is used as temporary structure, geotextiles facings are exposed to sunlight during service lifetime. During these periods, degradation of nonwoven geotextiles are occurred by UV light. So the UV-resistance of nonwoven geotextiles must be assessed correctly, in considering of the site conditions. In this study, laboratory test and the field test have been performed to evaluate the UV resistance of non-woven geotextiles used in KOESWall system and the results are expressed in terms of tensile characteristics & SEM photographs.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence that shape of tie has on the ductility of reinforce concrete rectangular column with experiment. There is the standard of the shape and arrengement of tie bar for RC column, but nevertheless currently a tie used in some fields under construction has been constructed in different way from the design for the convenience of construction. A research was required to analyze the problem on the behavior of RC column caused from a shoddy and fault construction of tie, and then evaluate the safety.

  • Today, many kind of buildings are higher than those of previous generations, and Curtain Wall is adapted broadly as an outer wall material. But weather and environmental condition could cause problems in curtain wall construction in most construction projects. High wind speed and unplanned lifting equipment's allocation could cause construction delay and cost increase. To solve these problems, we suggest using a curtain wall mullion as a rail to lift curtain wall which is less affected wind speed. And we would like to show a preliminary data of its economic advantage evaluation.

  • 상수도시설은 준공후 관련지자체에 이관 관리하는 시설로서 사용관종이 현재 다양하게 생산 보급되고 있어 관종 선정시 다각적인 측면에서 검토하여 채택하여야 한다. 최근 한국토지공사에서 사용하고 있는 상수도 관종은 대부분 택지개발계획 등 인허가 당시부터 관리주체인 지자체 등과의 협의과정을 거쳐 선정되는 경우가 많아 자재선택에 한계성이 있다. 이를 극복하기 위해서는 자재 성능에 대한 공사내 명확한 기준이 제시되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 배수관과 급수관용으로 최근 사용되고 있는 관종에 대한 특성을 분석하고, 각각의 관종에 대하여 기본통수성, 내구성, 시공성, 경제성, 외부환경인자로 구분하여 성능평가근거를 제시하였다. 제시된 평가근거를 바탕으로 각 관종의 항목별 평가등급을 부여하고, 이를 통해 좀 더 구체적인 상수관 자재선정 기준을 제시하고자 하였다. 이러한 작업을 뒷받침하기 위한 과정으로 전국 주요 상수관 제조업체를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 다양한 관종에 대한 평가자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구는 상수도관 다양한 성능평가항목 및 기준을 통해 자재성능검토를 수행하였고, 상수관 자재선정기준 제시를 위한 기초자료를 구축하였다.

  • 일반적으로 도심지에서 터널 시공을 위한 암반굴착 작업은 주변 보안물건에 대해 직접적인 피해를 유발시킬 수 있는 공해요소인 진동을 허용기준값 이하로 제어할 수 있으면서 상대적으로 시공성과 경제성이 뛰어난 공법으로 수행되어야 한다. 본 사례에서는 각내의 대표적인 문화시설인 예술의 전당 하부를 통과하는 우면산 터널 공사현장에서 암반굴착공법으로 고려한 TTM 장비를 이용한 기계굴착, 플라즈마 공법, 유압장비를 이용한 할암공법, 겔파쇄 공법, 미진동파쇄기를 이용한 공법, 진동제어발파공법에 대한 현장 적용성을 시험시공 등을 통해 평가한 내용과 결과를 제시하였다. 비록 각 도심지 터널의 현장 상황이나 주변 여건에 따라 이 현장에서의 시험시공 내용이나 적용 결과를 그대로 적용할 수는 없겠지만, 진동제어 암반굴착 공법에 대한 시험시공이나 선정 과정에 이 사례연구가 개략적인 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
