  • Frequent design changes or unnecessary project executions due to illogical practice, lack of feasibility study and, hasty drive have raised problems of budget waste in Korean construction projects. Since the MOCT (Ministry of Construction & Transportation) published Master Plan for budget efficiency for government projects, there have been a lot of policy efforts for budget saving. However, it has been pointed out that cost management at the pre-construction phase, which greatly influences the cost still remains imperfect. The target cost for government clients is not being estimated reasonably, and cost controlling at the pre-construction phase is not yet being carried out properly for keeping the budget. Therefore, improved construction cost management at the pre-construction phase was proposed in this paper. The cost management systems of advanced countries were investigated for it, and the issues were drawn from the cost management systems of these countries. On the basis of the issues, the present conditions and problems of domestic construction cost management at the pre-construction phase were analyzed for suggestion.

설비시공 표준화 지침 -삼성건설 주택사업본부 주택설비팀/아파트 시공현장에 적응

  • 삼성건설 주택사업본부 주택설비팀(팀장 조승준)이 지난 5년간의 하자발생률을 검토한 결과 하자발생을 줄일 수 있고 양질의 시공을 꾀할 수 있는 `95설비시공 표준화 지침을 마련하고 전 시공현장에 이를 토대로 시공할 것을 요구했다. 이에따라 주택설비팀은 지난 10월 중에 전 현장 직원들의 교육을 비롯하여 협력업체의 현장소장들까지 교육시키므로써 21세기를 향한 고품질의 아파트 건설 풍토 조성에 앞장섰다. '설비시공 표준화 지침에 따라 시공하면 공사비는 다소 높아지나 하자발생률을 줄이게 되므로 결국 이득이 되는 것' 이라고 주택설비팀의 한 관계자는 설명하면서 이는 무엇보다도 민원이 많이 발생하고 있는 아파트의 하자발생을 줄이기 위한 것에서 출발했다고 밝혔다. 삼성건설의 설비시공 지침은 타회사의 설비시공 지침과 다소 차이가 있을 것으로 보여지나 설비업계에 많은 참고가 될 것으로 사료되어 이를 게재한다.

  • Applicability of the Decision Aids for Tunneling (DAT) technique is investigated in this study to better understand the efficiency of the decision making process during tunnel construction. For this, a traffic tunnel under construction is adopted and information on the construction procedure, i.e., overall geology, unit cost and construction time for each excavation process, is provided periodically. Various scattergrams in which cost-time simulation results are plotted are obtained according to the simulation methods and final prediction on the construction time/cost is made. It is found that the uncertainty in the cost distribution is greater than the uncertainty in the time distribution for each cycle simulation and the uncertainties in time and cost for the one time simulations are comparable. Future work will be concentrated on the updating scheme using the face mapping data and various parametric studies will also be performed.

Analyses of Structural Performances for RC High-Rise Residential Complex Building under Construction (철근콘크리트 초고층 주상복합 건물의 시공 중 구조성능 분석)

  • Recently, the most of domestic high-rise residential complex buildings are constructed with reinforced concrete structures, which may bring structural problems during construction. This study is aimed to analyze structural safety and lateral load-resisting performance of RC high-rise residential complex building under construction. The tower-typed building with 60 floors is selected as a sample model, and numerical analyses are performed. The structural performances of building structures at construction stages, which are resulted form the analyses of numerical models completed up to 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, or 60th floor, are compared to those of the completed building structure. For the comparisons of structural performances, modal shapes and fundamental periods of building structures, lateral load-resisting performances, and structural design performances of structural members are considered. The lateral displacement and story drift ratio are analyzed for lateral load-resisting performances, and comparisons of design ratios at construction and design stages are performed for structural design performances of structural members. The guideline of design loads and structural analysis schemes for checking the safety of RC high-rise building under construction is presented.

  • 본 연구에서는 철근가격 급등과 배근시공도 작성 인력 부족에 대비하여 SDM# 제품군을 사용하여 이음/정착을 고려한 3차원 철근 배근 자동화 기술(RAP)로 철근 배근 자동생성 및 배근시공도 작성 시스템을 개발하였다. 최근 철근가격 급등으로 인한 공사원가상승/인건비 상승/배근시공도 작성 인력 부족 등의 기존현황의 문제점 등을 SDM# 제품군의 철근 배근 자동화 기술(RAP)을 이용하여 자동 철근배근/배근시공도 작성/정밀 골조물량 산출/인력절감/시공 정밀도 향상/골조 공사비 절감 등의 효과와 기존의 현장가공으로 인한 철근 손실률 8%를 공장가공을 적용함으로써 3% 수준으로 낮출 수 있어 5% 내외의 절감효과를 얻을 수 있다. 철근현장가공에서 공장가공 전환으로 골조물량 절감을 기대할 수 있고, 이음/정착/응력분포가 고려된 3차원 철근 배근 자동화 기술(RAP)을 이용하여 자동배근 알고리즘에 의한 배근시공도/가공도 작성 효율을 높이고, 기술 자립을 통해 건설시공 분야의 기술력 향상을 기대할 수 있다.

Analytical Study for Ultimate Behavior of Steel Cable-stayed Bridges under Construction Stage (시공중 강사장교의 극한거동에 대한 해석적 연구)

  • This paper presents an investigation on the ultimate behavior of steel cable-stayed bridges in the construction stage, considering various geometric nonlinearities and material nonlinearities. To numerically determine the state of cable-stayed bridges in the construction stage, initial shape analysis and construction stage analysis via backward process analysis were done sequentially. Then nonlinear analysis of the state under the construction load condition, considering the weight of the derrick crane and the key segment of the girder loaded onto the tip of the center span, was performed to investigate the ultimate behavior of the structure. The effects of the girder-mast stiffness ratio, the cable-arrangement types, and the area of the stay cables on the ultimate behavior were also extensively investigated. Moreover, the results of the ultimate analysis, considering both geometric nonlinearities and material nonlinearities, were compared with the results of the geometric nonlinear analysis, for a more meaningful investigation of the ultimate behavior of steel cable-stayed bridges in the construction stage.

  • Recently, in other.view of underwater concrete construction, special admixture agent of concrete has been developed for antiwashout of concrete under water with easy carrying out method in some foreign nations. They had successful cases in experiment and construction and it trend to use in many cases with many scales. However, in domestic, there was rare record in carrying out. In this paper, reference for successful results of experiment and construction about antiwashout underwater concrete, as variable add of special admixture agent and other agents. We have carried out property tests of fresh and hardened concrete, certified the properties and made the antiwashout underwater concrete have enough strength to endure with ea.sy construction. And we have decided the optimal mix proportion for antiwashout underwater concrete under standard state.

A Study on the Estimation of Proper Construction Cost for Road Pavement Maintenance Work (아스팔트포장 유지보수 적정공사비 산정방안 연구)

  • Road Pavement Maintenance Work is generated in a variety of different field conditions, and it is difficult to calculate the construction cost because there are no detailed criteria when preparing the estimated construction cost. Unlike new pavements, Road Pavement Maintenance has to be constructed with operating vehicles, and there are many differences in productivity depending on urban areas, limited work hours, night-time, construction area, etc. To compensate for this, the standard for calculation of construction cost provides additional charges for the number of lanes, residential areas, working hours, and night work, but it applied differently depending on construction officials. In this study, construction cost estimation standards that can properly reflect the conditions of the site was investigated for major types of Road Pavement Maintenance work. The site was investigated and analyzed mainly for many construction sites with 'overlay of asphalt after cutting', 'restore surface', 'repair of pavement', and 'recovery of roadway'. The criteria for the application of construction volume separately according to working hours, public places, and land area including extra charges for basic downtown and residential area. The hours of operation were divided into three types(7 hours, 5 hours, 3 hours) excluding movement and preparation time, and each type provided a coefficient for dividing the area of the construction site into five types. The construction cost calculation method based on the construction purpose is site conditions is proposed accordingly, and it is deemed that a plan for the designer to calculate the construction cost has been prepared in consideration of the site conditions.

  • In order to build up competitive power in construction market and to cope with international policy, Design-Build bidding is one of the viable bidding system, encouraging collaboration between design office and building construction firm. Design-Build is a promising delivery system to help expediting schedules, saving costs, and improving Quality. However, the problems of Design-Build project in the domestic construction industry are not to be able to take advantages of fast-tracking and value engineering process, because of the problems of inappropriate system and participants' inexperience. The purpose of this study is to suggest alternatives for Design-Build bidding of public sector in the domestic construction industry in the costs, quality and time aspect.
